In the year 2010, a secret war was fought and lost by video stores worldwide. One by one those that remained were assimilated by the new media giant Digital Movie Service headed by an evil Techno-Wizard from beyond our realm.
Present day. A lone man battles his own extinction from within the walls of the Last Video Store. The end is nigh. Until a young man enters the forgotten underground world and joins forces to stop the destruction of the universe.

Cody Kennedy
Director, DOP
A steady diet of 80s and 90s B grade Movies along with a healthy dose of cinematic spectacles from all corners of the globe and on a constant search for The boundary pushing and wacky films of anywhere, has fueled my own creative fires to piece together my own cinematic renderings of the strange, fun action pack moving pictures of TOMORROW!
Timothy Rutherford
Director, Writer
I started making films in high school after receiving a Sony mini DV camera through our multimedia class. From there the monsters took over. I began building creatures and refining practical effects that were inspired by the iconic monsters of my childhood. Now immersed in a world of cinematic terrors I look to leave my mark on the next generation of monster lovers.
This looks like it'll have a cult following. Something the younger college version of myself would have watched with the guys.
Samson W. Posted 6 months ago
meh
Paul J. Posted 6 months ago
Kind of silly but the makeup looks neat
Amanda D. Posted 6 months ago
I will admit right up front that this type of movie is not my cup of tea but I did get a couple of chuckles out of this trailer. Looks like it could be one of those cult classics, one that I won't watch but would have people talking.
Martin V. Posted 6 months ago
Last thing I want to do is come across as hateful but with reason I would like to say that this was really bad. I understand that this was a concept pitch but it pitched nothing but random clips of people doing random variations of fighting. Try and pitch a story more than throwing random clips at me.
Good luck to you in the accelerator.
Rosella W. Posted 6 months ago
I'm not 100% sure on what the trailer conveys. It doesn't have as fun of as a vibe as I had anticipated.
Kreme T. Posted 6 months ago
This trailer is a bit confusing. I was expecting it to be funnier.
Ellen M. Posted 6 months ago
Wasn't my favourite.
Doug M. Posted 6 months ago
I really do not get any sense of where this is going or what it is avbout aside from some fasr flashes of 'horror' inages.
John B. Posted 6 months ago
I like how some very distinct charactershow-up in trailer (Garth from Wayne's World and Ash from The Evil Dead)
Louise R. Posted 6 months ago
as a kid growing up in the 80s and remembering the days of video shops, I thought this looked like fun from the synopsis but the trailer left me disappointed i'm afraid
Tyler S. Posted 6 months ago
This feels more comedy than action.
Nadja B. Posted 6 months ago
Creative and Funny
Daniel R. Posted 6 months ago
funny and weird? yes. but it doesn't need a big budget.
Chad M. Posted 6 months ago
no thanks
Joe M. Posted 6 months ago
Carpenter meets Gondry.
Filip S. Posted 6 months ago
I liked it, it felt like it was cheesy in a clever way
Joslyn P. Posted 6 months ago
Definetly should have listed this as a comedy. Some parts were very funny. A bit too cheesy at times and the quality could have been better. But cool enough, kind of reminds me of the Be Kind Rewind. Just slightly
Karyn T. Posted 6 months ago
Wasn't really inspired by this trailer. Would maybe have to watch it a few times as it didn't grab my attention on first watching.
Nicole P. Posted 6 months ago
Looks great, Kev!
Rick H. Posted 6 months ago
Not a genre that is very interesting.
Taryn K. Posted 6 months ago
Felt in the end it did not work out together but looked interesting
Stacy M. Posted 7 months ago
I dont get it...
Trish M. Posted 7 months ago
No thanks... this would have a very limited audience
Ron K. Posted 7 months ago
Nice editing and cinematography Like the concept Felt the acting was weak
Greg S. Posted 7 months ago
Really good!
Meg L. Posted 7 months ago
Really weird and funny. I really like how over-dramatic it looks. Lots of random gore from nowhere is a little out of left field, but fits the overall weirdness.
Seems like a mix between Be Kind Rewind and Little Shop of Horros, Could be great if you can define a good end.
Kathy M. Posted 7 months ago
Haha, house of heathens. nice
Vance A. Posted 7 months ago
idea is great! Needs an epic movie voiceover, less actors screaming at the camera.
Diane N. Posted 7 months ago
Too much blood and violence, sorry, not my kind of movie.
Pandora M. Posted 7 months ago
cool fx.
Tom c. Posted 7 months ago
Throw back to the memories of the past
Roger G. Posted 7 months ago
Tad too crazy and unrealistic. Even if its going to be a fantasy its gotta be believable. I'm not a huge fan of the almost randomness that seems to be happening.
Joel K. Posted 7 months ago
Oh my goodness
Cindy C. Posted 7 months ago
Insane, crazy and totally funny
Jennifer C. Posted 7 months ago
Not my kind of movie. Too much over-acting!
Jody M. Posted 7 months ago
Not at all what I was expecting. that's the last time I judge a trailer by its title. Good work, and good luck!
Jolene K. Posted 7 months ago
MORE GOR THAN CONCEPT
Natalia N. Posted 7 months ago
This concept doesn't really tickle my fancy but I could see how others may like it. It's definitely creative. Good luck!
Rocky E. Posted 7 months ago
its ok in concept, but a little over the top.
Leta P. Posted 7 months ago
Interesting!
Jeremy S. Posted 7 months ago
That was siiiiiick!!!! -from Slay To Rest.
Michael L. Posted 7 months ago
Love the cheesy makeup. Very apropos.
Jolianne L. Posted 7 months ago
Looks original to me and I like the 80s reference although I am from the 90s. :P
Jenna R. Posted 7 months ago
it made me laugh
Roy H. Posted 7 months ago
This could be a guilty pleasure of mine
Timothy R. Posted 7 months ago
I made this and it's far from perfect. But man it's alot of fun!
Don T. Posted 7 months ago
Really did not like this
Helen M. Posted 7 months ago
Too corny...reminded me of something similar to "Power Rangers" style...appealing to kids or tweens for tv
payola m. Posted 7 months ago
you got my vote !!
David A. Posted 7 months ago
How could people not get what's going on?! This is awesome! Good luck guys!
Bo A. Posted 7 months ago

Nadine C. Posted 7 months ago
Crazy wild.yet comical!
Silas B. Posted 7 months ago

Jose H. Posted 7 months ago
great film
June B. Posted 7 months ago
Speaking as one of the last few who still rent movies, I was very entertained by this. Good casting. Well edited. Nice job.
Carly T. Posted 7 months ago
I did not get this one, it made no sense.
Michelle S. Posted 7 months ago
I didn't understand what was going on and it's Not one my cup of tea.
Shawn A. Posted 7 months ago
ya ok
Jordan H. Posted 7 months ago
Completely ridiculous. I love it. Team Contained
Jenny C. Posted 7 months ago
LOVE IT!
Thomas A. Posted 7 months ago
Totally reminds me of the movies I grew up on. This has to get made, no matter what!
Christopher W. Posted 7 months ago
Would have been better if they shot something new for the trailer, but if you check out some of the shorts, the ideas and execution are excellent. If they can maintain the quality, energy and creativity from their Christmas short, this has the potential to be a genre classic.
Karen T. Posted 7 months ago
I didn't understand what was going on
John K. Posted 7 months ago
It knows exactly what is is and how to get there, a solid trailer :)
Donna K. Posted 7 months ago
Really Cool!
Paul N. Posted 7 months ago
very cool trailer. Not sure about watching it as a feature length
Michael L. Posted 7 months ago
Really creative and a great world you've created. For me personally, I would like to understand the plot more, or see more of those guys in suits try to bring the store down.
Jason J. Posted 7 months ago
Simply amazing!
Chris F. Posted 7 months ago
Not one my cup of tea.
Patrick G. Posted 7 months ago
I don't really get it. Although I did like some of the shots.
Travis E. Posted 7 months ago
I think is going to be an amazing movie.
Shaun H. Posted 7 months ago
Great job gentlemen.
Michelle G. Posted 7 months ago
your lead character looks promising, which is more than I can say for the plot and special effects.
James H. Posted 7 months ago
These guys are geniuses! I'm so glad new and original ideas are being filmed on a low budget like this.
Josh L. Posted 7 months ago
This is something that anyone who grew up renting movies can relate to. From the time you would be excited to walk down scoping the racks or walls with dozens upon dozens of new rentals or even classics that you were willing to re-watch. The hassle of returning the movie(s) not rewound or arguing with the clerk about paying late fee's. The smell of popcorn, the packages of treats, the television blaring loudly with the current new release. This is a memory I want to hold for many years to come, this is my childhood and this is what's keeping that alive. Thank-you.
Michael G. Posted 7 months ago
Lots of effort in the tease but could have used more of the actual story you are telling..
Jeff R. Posted 7 months ago
Fun trailer! Wanna see where this goes. Hope the 80's sentiment doesn't get too heavy handed.
Tyler S. Posted 7 months ago
This looks like it would be very entertaining.
Sean R. Posted 7 months ago
These bro's DESERVE to win this shit!
Brenna T. Posted 7 months ago
a bit funny but not together for the trailer
Róise M. Posted 7 months ago
i enjoyed the concept for this but not fully there yet
natasha w. Posted 7 months ago
a bit awkward but want to see more
Will B. Posted 7 months ago
looked like an evil dead refence in there!
Michael M. Posted 7 months ago
???
John K. Posted 7 months ago
Make it funnier
david p. Posted 7 months ago
very interesting and funny was not a fan of cinematography but has lots of potential
Leslie H. Posted 7 months ago
Not for me.
Lew D. Posted 7 months ago
It's a bit hard to make out the plot from the trail, but I really dig the idea of a grotty low-budget VHS universe vs a slick DVD Techno-Wizard and this looks like it could be fun.
Rachel W. Posted 7 months ago
What on earth? I don't even know how to respond to this... definitely wouldn't see it in theaters.
Wesley S. Posted 7 months ago
Enjoyed that trailer... Going to see what mission 1 looks like! Good luck!
Aaron K. Posted 7 months ago
Cheese to the max! Looks awesome.
Dina B. Posted 7 months ago
it has potential with the right funding
Jennifer P. Posted 7 months ago
Pretty interesting. The dude with the missing teeth is creepy!
Matty G. Posted 7 months ago
This reminds me of a friend of mine's store here in Vancouver. It was called "Schlockbuster". HA! Sadly, It got demolished last year but it was definitely demonic! Stay awesome guys!
Tim E. Posted 7 months ago
Long live the 80s but it lost me half way through
Bernie H. Posted 7 months ago
my family used to own a video store. for that very reason. you get a 10. seriously tho. it was ridiculous and appalling... can't wait to see it!
Shannon W. Posted 7 months ago
I cannot wait to see this!! All of the Tales From The Lobby that I saw were so rad!
Rebecca H. Posted 8 months ago
80s ain't dead. Let's revive it back in style!
Alex L. Posted 8 months ago
Looks gross and awesome. I see potential.
Nabila B. Posted 8 months ago
I think this film has a lot of potential, especially with a large budget (robots are always better with a large budget). The idea is unique and almost realistic (with a great dash of fantasy thrown in). The creativity alone wins points from me, but the fact that this truly could be one of the last video stores (especially in the Edmonton area) makes me really want to see a movie done in and about it!
Rick M. Posted 8 months ago
The Last Video Store is, essentially, if Clerks was a B Movie from the 80s. What these guys are able to do given their resources is pretty unbelievable; its a testament to talent, ingenuity, and genuine love of the source material they draw from. Best of luck, fellas!
Roman B. Posted 8 months ago
Fantastic idea! And the know-how and can-do to do it!
Katie T. Posted 8 months ago
Hits the hilarious, cool, campy buttons, but the trailer has a few misses too. Some bad shots mixed with some great ones. Hard to tell if the idea will sustain a feature and not sure it needs a big budget, but good luck to the team.
Erica O. Posted 8 months ago
Ok, I love the 80's and VHS tapes, so this grabbed me at first but then lost me when the Robots appeared. The story line got a bit muddled. I'd be curious to see what it would look like with more money put into it!
Mark B. Posted 8 months ago
Cute.
Erin C. Posted 8 months ago
Story seems a little wacky and confusing ... but loving the effects!
Matt W. Posted 8 months ago
This looks like a riot, and while the specific sub-genre isn't my favourite, I know I would have a great time watching the full version of this movie! Plus, I've been to that video store!
Cody K. Posted 8 months ago
hell ya!
daniella c. Posted 8 months ago
where are all the actual 80s inspirational films i like the concept but not recognizable enough i found
Jonny B. Posted 8 months ago
AMAZING!
Mike L. Posted 8 months ago
this story is too far fetched for me. nice edit but that about it for me.
Corrianne B. Posted 8 months ago
Sexual
Peter M. Posted 8 months ago
long live the video store
Greg J. Posted 8 months ago
Exactly the type of thing that this low budget prize should cover.
Darby Q. Posted 8 months ago
Yo Darby here, What be dis idea of a horror in a film store its almost like the unfresh shit Are You Afraid Of The Dark , I know they bin making that idea timmmmeee ago son. Izzle aint sure wether a brother be serious of just clowning' with dis video, so ima 6 it incase dass whats good. Anyway, Peacin' out homies.
Amy Z. Posted 8 months ago
Genius. Old School Evil Dead, meets Rob Zombie. Just fell in love.
Ryan R. Posted 8 months ago
I give it to these, guys....love the music & throw back 80's monsters.
Sandy P. Posted 8 months ago
concept is kind of cool i suppose
Connor B. Posted 8 months ago
I didn't quite follow the plot.
Rob N. Posted 8 months ago
The title alone made me chuckle. This has all the makings of a classic "drive-in" or "b-movie". I enjoyed the silliness except for the monster at the end. Good Luck!
Lindsey M. Posted 8 months ago
Kevin & Derek are the go-to guys for horror in Edmonton. Very glad to see them working together on a film, this is very exciting!
Amanda B. Posted 8 months ago
As someone who has a VHS player and not a DVD player, and as someone who values having video stores around, I am very interested in seeing this movie!
Lowell D. Posted 8 months ago
So weird! Love the 80s vibe, good music. Well done. - Team WolfCop
Reginald R. Posted 8 months ago
I dig it. I do miss the video store
Kris J. Posted 8 months ago
I was totally not expecting that from the title! Loved the comic book feel and effects. The movie store owner was very harrowing. and creepy! But that monster near the end felt a little off.. Otherwise great job guys! Love seeing local films!
Kris J. Posted 8 months ago

fun idea but my my 5 senses cant back this teaser
Arron K. Posted 8 months ago
I love this! It reminds of those Troma movies but in some way, I think it also reminds me of Hobo With A Shotgun :)
Shelly A. Posted 8 months ago
wicked!!
Cam M. Posted 8 months ago
I don't really understand what's going on but Chainsaw Faced people get an automatic 8.5 at least
Travis B. Posted 8 months ago
ahaha! Omg you guys, this has cult classic written all over it! Awesome job.
Ryan S. Posted 8 months ago
Always down for some body horror!
Aaron D. Posted 8 months ago
Epic would be a understatement
Jason L. Posted 8 months ago
No sense of the story here.
Harmin K. Posted 8 months ago
Troma..
Christian Z. Posted 8 months ago
You get a sense that there is true affection for 80's horror films. I think the plot could be more clear. I love that it looks like there is a LOT of action and great practical effects.
Arron K. Posted 8 months ago
Not bad, not bad. Reminds me of a Troma movie.
Knighten R. Posted 8 months ago
Excellent. Would watch again.
Kevin P. Posted 8 months ago
Terrible sound mixing, not talkin' music here.
The 4 stems of audio are just as important as video, keep that in mind
