It's summertime, and there's no better time to hit the highway for four hard partying friends to get away from the city. Pulling to the side of the road to get the party started early, Dasha (Bea Santos) and her friends (Terry Tyler, Felecia Simone, and Brandon James Sim) indulge in drinking, drugs, and sex, but before long, the party is cut short when they hear a woman screaming for help in the nearby woods. The friends make a decision to help find the woman, however while exploring the woods they encounter a sinister presence that will tear apart the very fabric of reality that they have been accustomed to. At the center of it all is Dasha, who holds a powerful, mind-warping secret

Some of the lighting was neat and I liked the voice of the girl whispering in the background but the idea isn't original enough for me.

Good but it seems to imitate from SAW in some ways.

Great sound design and great editing leads to pulse pounding pace. WOuld've liked to have seen more. :(

very stupid, typical dead teenagers nonsense. "the zone"??? I mean, really???? "The Zone"??? come on!! This would flop so hard in theatres.
Joslyn P. Posted 7 months ago
It was kind of everywhere, a little odd and some points but I guess it was okay. Good luck!
Ken A. Posted 7 months ago
Wasn't impressed with cohesion.
Michelle G. Posted 7 months ago
Decent trailer, I just feel like we've seen this type of movie too many times so I would have a hard time putting support behind this concept. I also find it similar to hunting season and find that trailer a little more polished.

points for the editing but the storys been done these kinds of films are hard to take serioussince its been done before soooo many times already.manages to offer us some interesting images but unfortunately the film feels too empty and is too redundant to satisfy~ g/l with the project.

Total crap.

This is the director of the Zone. Just wanted to say thanks to all that viewed, rated, watchlisted, voted, commented on our work! It means a lot to a team that with nothing made some work that people viewed and even supported. It makes me feel so grateful to have worked such a talented cast and crew. Thanks to all the fans for the support! Ted S you are the super fan of the century! You totally got it! It made me feel relevant! To even those who trashed it, thanks, it will make us better. Except Kevin P-Eat a D! Big up's to all the groups that entered in this contest and put their work on display to be ripped apart. You put skin in the game instead of being an armchair quarterback. We did this honestly and were prepared to let people decide on our fate. Shout out to Terry Tyler, Bea Santos, Felicia Simone, and Brandon James Sim. The hardest working actors I have had the privilege of working for. Sorry to let you guys down! I will make it up to you. I'm out! One Love to all and God Bless.

Love it!

Interesting meld of retro 60/70's photography within a mystery/horror theme, set in the winter.. The ubiquitous road trip movie with disposable young people seems to have a more sinister feel then the traditional 'slasher film'.
Julie P. Posted 7 months ago
Not a fan of this genre, but seems like a nice fit for these type of movies...best of luck
saara m. Posted 7 months ago
Very good! It was well put together and felt creepy. It has an eighties horror feel to it.

Trailer was intriguing and a definite incentive to watch the full movie...Can't Wait to be brought back into "THE ZONE"

Oh yeah photoshop effects are scary but don't make a movie.

Interesting twist on the tired storyline
Tanessa T. Posted 7 months ago
Great work guys! Hope you go far!
Lew D. Posted 7 months ago
"A bunch of college aged people go somewhere remote and get murdered" isn't an original plot, but I like the twist of one of them having powers herself; that might just be cool enough to redeem it. At any rate, the trailer is very well made and that gives me confidence the director could pull it off.
Vinod D. Posted 7 months ago
amazing
kiran h. Posted 7 months ago
Wow, this is the best trailer on here. It should definitely be the winner! Amazing job!
Vanessa M. Posted 7 months ago
I really believe this to be the winner...I can't wait to see the full movie!!!

I could relate to the movie. I thought that it was crazy interesting. I was a bit lost on the story line, but that made me want to watch the movie to see.

Intriguing, can't wait to see more!

Looks a bit cliche, seen it before from every horror filmmaker with a digital camera. But looks to have promise. Horror needs something fresh, I'd like to see that.
John F. Posted 8 months ago
This one hit hard! Put out what it should: high tension, shocks and an infectious, psychedelic dark tone.

By far the tightest trailer here. I mean for my money you can't beat the way this was shot and edited. The soundscape is absolutely excellente!, few of the trailers focused on that beyond adding some music. Loved the creepy screams when the last CineCoup logo showed up! I think we have a winner here!
Patti D. Posted 8 months ago
It has potential but the trailer didn't give me enough to make a determination. Good luck with your project!
Daniel V. Posted 8 months ago
I really liked the creative shots, zany camera angles/movements, use of colors (lots of blue and green outside... would like to see more), lighting (the last scene…wow!) and use of sound (very powerful). This trailer is quite a trip on a audio/visual standpoint. I agree with the others in that the story is old hat, but I mean if there's some real potential here, folks, for a killer scary movie that means business!
Zbigniew I. Posted 8 months ago
Nice visuals, I liked it because it came across as a real trailer, professionally cut! Story has been done before (but I mean, what hasn't, hmm?), but the trailer showcases real talent. I think u guys could pull something off and deliver a good final master with a good budget. Best of luck guys
Ted S. Posted 8 months ago
Upon viewing your trailer for the first time, my immediate reaction was "whatever"... as I sifted through the various projects I ended up re-watching your trailer. My opinions definitely changed the second time around. I noticed the following things: - The trailer entices the audience. (People getting worked up about gaps in the plot line is an ideal reaction to a promotional video for a full film/story) - It is like getting shot with a machine gun of sound and imagery. (This rapid fire method you guys have gone for works on many levels. While the soundtrack is jarring and abrasive it puts the viewer in a state of tenseness. They become uneasy which is the ideal state for them to be shown clips at this pace. What ends up happening is the images, although short in duration, last in the viewers mind a longer time, even after the trailer has ended. This is because a trailer like this makes your body focus on one thing: the sound while your subconscious has now been completely left open for the visuals.) - Setting it up like a spring break "road trip" movie is a good thing. (Why was Titanic so successful? We already knew the story. Archetypes such as the road trip horror are time tested methods that are familiar and relatable. Films like Wolfcop are going to see how making something that comes totally left field can be detrimental to the audience's acceptance of the story.) - Hopsin looks like a chump. (Hopsin is the kinda guy you'd expect to wear weird contact lenses. In this trailer the effectiveness of the lenses are only due to the unnatural contrast between the eyes and the natural beauty of the blonde girl. It's like seeing a hand with 6 fingers. Subtle. Disturbing. Because its not what your brain is familiar with seeing, just like the beautiful gal with the funky pupils. FYI Marilyn Manson was doing the whole contact thing way before Hopsin) - In what way is this like the blair witch project? (The blair witch was shot on a hi8 video camera and a 16mm black and white. None of this footage resembles that. The blair witch is about student filmmakers getting lost in the woods and follows their descent into panic and desperation while a paranormal entity may or may not be stalking them in the woods. This trailer shows what appear to be real assailants made of flesh and blood. The kids don't appear to be lost in the woods nor fighting amongst themselves. I think the only connection I can see here is that Blair Witch takes place in the woods.)
Now all this being said I still feel like it comes of a bit student film-esque, but of course we all have to start somewhere and if you guys had a million dollars why would you even be in this contest. My major qualms were with the audio at the beginning. It's hard to distinguish whether the sounds are diegetic or non-diegetic. It took me a while to clue in that it was narration. Some of the shots are poorly done, mostly the interiors but I feel like lighting outdoor shots at night is quite the task in itself and you guys pulled it off well.
I originally wanted to give this an 8.5 but since halves don't exist have a 9 guys!
Amanda B. Posted 8 months ago
Talk about padding a flimsy story! Last scene if effective though and the editing tricks, flashes, spooky noises are cool. But as others mentioned this is pretty much Blair Witch-lite
Shelby C. Posted 8 months ago
Hopsin did the white eyes already. That kills it for me. ...

AMAZING JOB BUD!!!!!
kellie m. Posted 8 months ago
Seems like something nipped from The Blair Witch Project meets I know what you did last summer. Expected more original thought.
seen this movie a million times, this is like every other new horror flick that's out there, typical teenagers on a road trip in the woods

In terms of cosmetics, this is a good looking trailer. Nice emphasis on the avant-garde sound design. Grade A camera work and lighting, last shot with the kidnapped guy is excellent. But... the story?! Oh my. I gather, kids go in the woods, get kidnapped, one of them (the blonde girl) has... magic powers? A good looking product ruined by a weak and amateur storyline. Needs some work, but as the others mentioned, this is a start.
Alex W. Posted 8 months ago
the visuals are neat obviously your team had a skilled edtior, but the story looks like the usual by the numbers fear ploys that carry little to ZERO impact. choppy chain of events... It felt like there was a serious lack of coverage... FAIL!!

its a start ;)

Really cool and intense, maybe a little overboard with the effects but effective and in your face... dug it... have a 7 on me

no on so many levels.

Intense and visceral! This is a trailer with attitude!
Lisa M. Posted 8 months ago
This is awesome! I don't know who would rate this a 1 or 2. It must be other jealous filmmakers. Good work guys!
Nikki N. Posted 8 months ago
Fantastic story line! By the end I couldn't wait to watch the whole movie. Good work!
Danylo Z. Posted 8 months ago
I liked it......The visuals reminds me of the Blair Witch Project.
Joanie S. Posted 8 months ago
wow this is definitely the music video trailer. lots of fast edits, off kilter sound effects, very artsy filters and strobe lights and digitally altered voices. effective, but hollow and empty from a script standpoint. substance would have been noice. but it does look really cool!
Peter D. Posted 8 months ago
Pretty cool. I'd like to see more of the story established in the trailer. And I agree with Lee F. I like the last bit with the guy with the tape over his mouth. Good scene, well acted but, the sound is a little strange. All in all, I'd like to see this story unfold.
Donald Y. Posted 8 months ago
It;s a good start, but shows a 'Student Film' mentality, designed to appeal to students. It shows a potential, but lacks the professional level that modern audiences prefer,
Artem S. Posted 8 months ago
as a horror nut i must say this is the scariest looking one ive seen so far hope it gets made heck yeah!! looks really sharp!!

shut up kevin p and get a life stop running other peoples
Lee F. Posted 8 months ago
This was a very slick, fast-paced, and I must say professional looking trailer. I have issues with it though: it's way too fast, you barely get a sense of the story which you are trying to sell. If it wasn't for your synopsis I would have been super confused. Way way way too heavy on the ADR, I would have loved to see some dialogue driven scenes and genuine acting which really hurts the whole thing. Did you guys get recorded sound on set?? As well the story just looks like every other kids-go-on-a-road-trip-and-find-hillbilly-killers-in-the-woods-type thing, but I'll let that one slide. The last shot with the hammer is really cool, good acting from the guy with the tape over his mouth but it sounds like a robot speaking at one point which was weird. Okay overall it was good but definitely needs some improvement and some direction. It seems like a bunch of cool shots put together in a slick and stylized way with a thread of a story and some neat sounds. A little more story here and there would have helped.
Kevin P. Posted 8 months ago
Why is the open car audio out of sync? Did you get the actors to ADR afterwards? Dear god, the SFX are terrible. I'm not sure if it's music or SFX at 0:45 Your camera work looks really amateurish, which isn't a bad thing you can pass it off as 'style' but when you have bad sound you can't
