Aspiring writer, Daniyal (Dany) Nasr is engaged to the volatile and lovesick Nadia. But he's fallen for a fellow teaching student, Layla. After Dany bails from the marriage, Nadia commits suicide.
As Dany pulls his life together, he discovers a dark secret about Nadia through his friendship with her 14-year old sister, Aida. Nadia's father, Khalid, was sexually abusing her.
Seeking redemption for causing Nadia's suicide, Dany vows to save Aida from the same fate as her sister. But Khalid has no intention to let his daughter go free.
Hunted down by Khalid and brought to a shocking confrontation, Dany uses the shame he brought on his family as the weapon to save Aida from hers.

Good story but would not watch this...too depressing
Susy L. Posted 7 months ago
Sad story, well done. I like these kind of films.
Kelly B. Posted 7 months ago
I liked the depth of the scene with the father and the daughter, some of the shots too, (ex: iron fence) but the voiceover made it corny in a way.... Decent voice though but not for this film. Seemed like an intriguing complex plot, but I didn't like all the voiceover commentary.

Loving the concept. Great potential
Jason v. Posted 7 months ago
Not a movie theme that interests me but may appeal to some.
Maria M. Posted 7 months ago
While this looks like a disturbing movie, it is a very pertinent subject matter and one that I would definitely be interested in seeing on release. Even thought I would have a knot in my stomach for most of it.
Pandora M. Posted 7 months ago
hmmm
Georgia M. Posted 7 months ago
Wow. Looks like you're dealing with some very adult themes here, yet doing so in an appropriate, dignified way. You're exploring dark subject matter without cheapening it. I'd like to see this.
Joel K. Posted 7 months ago
Not sure it has mass appeal for a large audience.
Nicole d. Posted 7 months ago
Looks great!! leaves one wanting more!
Kathy S. Posted 7 months ago
Well done, could be a very true story and one that needs to be told.
Jennifer C. Posted 7 months ago
I feel like I have seen or read this story before. I looks interesting!

Looks great!
Nadine C. Posted 7 months ago
wow! pushing the barriers. great!
Kaitlyn M. Posted 7 months ago
Definitely the elements and potential for a really strong story. The trailer itself felt a bit cheesy at times - I'm not sure if the voiceover from a narrator was the most effective way to get your story through. I did however really enjoy the writer's voiceover! Very effective but simple way to convey his character.
Warren C. Posted 7 months ago
Like. Truth and love can bring us back.
Elena M. Posted 7 months ago
Weird plot, poor acting
Violette P. Posted 7 months ago
I don't like this subject matter at all. I would not want to see it on the big screen. Also, I do not understand the relevance of him being a writer. The aerial shots are impressive though.
bob p. Posted 7 months ago
Deep.
joanne s. Posted 7 months ago
felt very uncomfortable and did not like the concept
Roxanne M. Posted 7 months ago
Story seems a little bit weak, and I didn't like the use of the same scene of the girl putting the fabric around her shoulders. But I like the effort you're making!
Amanda B. Posted 7 months ago
Wow! This looks fantastic. I give this ten stars for the story and the fact that Sarena Parmar is in this. Bren Eastcott is also in this and she was on a couple of episodes of Degrassi with Melinda Shankar! Crazy!!!
Kevin F. Posted 7 months ago
Looking good, heavy. Good luck
Alejandro P. Posted 7 months ago
Seriouslly, a writer? Nothing less exiting that put yourself in a movie, and is a little pretentious call yourself "an exiting new writer
Michelle E. Posted 7 months ago
Held my interest. Beautifully shot.
Nickolas B. Posted 7 months ago
Nicely shot, I am intrigued to see it.

Felt very uncomfortable with this
Annika H. Posted 7 months ago
compelling story but the voice of the narration is throwing me off, feels too overbearing
Donal O. Posted 7 months ago
A harrowing tale. Unnerving and uplifting at the same time. People love a good story of the redemption of a white knight and the protection of the innocent.
Mark V. Posted 7 months ago
looks good. but needs work on the acting.
Thomas A. Posted 7 months ago
Great shots. Looks like an interesting story.
Michelle G. Posted 7 months ago
Not sure how you got that good of a rating. I found the plot weak and the characters underdeveloped - no real suspense or intrigue.
Bella M. Posted 7 months ago
This looks as though it could be in theaters tomorrow!
Tyce P. Posted 7 months ago
very intriguing subject matter.
Michael L. Posted 7 months ago
Great content, though I would rather not have known that she committed suicide, or where the story went afterwords. The first 30seconds was great.
Mo J. Posted 7 months ago
Not many movies with the guts to explore controversial areas. Cudos
Oh and nice car!
Nicholas C. Posted 7 months ago
Interesting style for sure, keep film making!
Chris F. Posted 7 months ago
Trailer was dragging a bit. The story content sounds interesting.

Abuse is a universal scourge and this video addresses the problem in a cultural context with a decidedly different twist. Nice work.
Adam S. Posted 7 months ago
Totally not my thing.
Phize L. Posted 7 months ago
Abuse in the film isn't something we talk about enough - especially in an immigrant context. Good work.
Jake C. Posted 7 months ago
Not a bad idea, terrible execution. Everyone is an award winning filmmaker.
Róise M. Posted 7 months ago
i felt very uncomfortable and did not like the trailer at all
David K. Posted 7 months ago
Great promise here. Contemporary tale of cultures in conflict with the talent at all levels to pull it off and make it compelling.
Danielle M. Posted 7 months ago
It is obvious that you are using provocative images of women to sell your trailer, which is ironic considering your story is supposed to be about protecting women against exploitation.
Rebecca G. Posted 7 months ago
This is a film that actually has a deep story unlike most of the trailers on here
Cameron T. Posted 7 months ago
i felt uncomfortable with this and did not like the concept
Lori R. Posted 7 months ago
I don't actually understand it,
Michael M. Posted 7 months ago
Different
AChristine W. Posted 7 months ago
The only thing good about this was the story.....so I guess there is a lot of room for improvement
Mick F. Posted 7 months ago
Would have been nice to see more details from the synopsis contained in the trailer. Also, the use of Peter Gabriel's music from a well-known film (The Last Temptation of Christ) is disappointing.
Thomas P. Posted 7 months ago
Yikes. The narration, the soft focus, Dany's stupid musings. The synopsis sounds REALLY interesting and this story could be amazing but so far I don't see potential to do it justice.
Katie B. Posted 7 months ago
Well, I really enjoyed the movie-man voice
Ubayd H D. Posted 7 months ago
Trailer is solid, anyone who says otherwise doesn't know a true story when they see one. yeah the cinematography in the trailer could have been a bit better, but the story is awesome and the actors did a well good job portraying the characters in the story.
Joe C. Posted 7 months ago
If you are going for tension or uneasiness in the viewer.. you got it.

Karin C. Posted 7 months ago
I want to watch the full film!
Dinah H. Posted 7 months ago
I loved the story in the description but was disappointed with how it was actually presented in the trailer.
Erin C. Posted 7 months ago
This is a concept that is far beyond most of the spoon fed other trailers that I have had a tough time watching all the way through. The writer has a diverse story of a young man, his greed, love, passion and an eerie father that has ripped his family apart. I want to know more! The trailer is clear, concise and well shot. I am happy to see a good concept with a strong story and a professional look thanks to a great director and cast. Bring it on!!!!!!!!
Joslyn P. Posted 7 months ago
The opening picture was a big turn off personally. I found it confusing. I couldn't settle in and enjoy it because I was trying to piece together what was going on and what it was about. There were some good pictures and scenery but I think it needs something else. Keep working at it!
Michael C. Posted 7 months ago
Great job.
Neirrod E. Posted 7 months ago
seems a little confused about the emphasis of the story
Ruxandra R. Posted 7 months ago
It was okay I suppose, but I did not like the racial comment. The story seems to have potential, but I am confused as to how being/aspiring to become an author has any relevance in this story. Overall, reminds me a bit of a csi or law and order SVU episode.
zena a. Posted 7 months ago
Really enjoyed the trailer, can't wait to see the whole film!
Brock S. Posted 7 months ago
You see bits and pieces of a great story there but not displayed to their full potential.
Brent S. Posted 7 months ago
One of the stand outs I've seen here. Intense and gripping, it manages to convey a dreamy and sinister quality under a very cool surface. Loved the look and the acting is sharp as broken glass. A trailer that leaves you wanting more instead of showing all its cards.
Film Market A. Posted 7 months ago
A unique Canadian story that will unravel a family but united us as nation - Canada

Scott S. Posted 7 months ago
I felt it was to slow and did not like the underlying issues that the characters are going through
Nicole H. Posted 7 months ago
I really dislike that the father was doing that to his child an the hanging issue.
Huda D. Posted 7 months ago
Go Dany Boy!!!
Yunus H. Posted 7 months ago
Solid Trailer
Doug W. Posted 7 months ago
This trailer is gripping and provocative. It teases with just enough information to pull you in. Beautifully shot with actors I want to watch. Can't wait to see this film.
Chris C. Posted 8 months ago
Rule #1 Directors should not be actors. I understand it's in an attempt to save money on the production, but when you lack the acting ability to convey the sinister depths the character is willing to go to, I say find someone else.
Rule #2 Try to focus on a single theme within your trailer. Showing Dany's fantasy followed by the dysfunctional relationship and then following it up by alluding to rape coupled with the narration makes it a tough pill to swallow.
You maybe an award winning filmmaker, but directing a trailer is not your forte. Step back from the project and see what you can do to help tell the story in a clearer fashion, otherwise this will just be time and money wasted.
Kevin P. Posted 8 months ago
Seriously what is going on here...
I shouldnt have to watch this more than 3 times to understand this. I did, just so you know...
Zax X. Posted 8 months ago
If it lives up to the trailer, it will be worth watching.
Wally S. Posted 8 months ago
I really don't see what the big deal is here... The trailer moves too slow and doesn't communicate the synopsis. I had no idea that Dany is trying to save the girl's sister, and frankly I didn't really care about any of the characters. Also, why does it matter that he's a writer? The narrator makes this feel a little self-important. It's a start, but definitely needs some work.

Katie T. Posted 8 months ago
Lots of hard work went into this and you can tell. Feels like it might fall flat in the story - lacks a spark, some unique quality that spins it in a fresh way. I feel like I've seen similar films. Good luck.
Andrew G. Posted 8 months ago
I am waiting with baited breath to see the full film. Great trailer that shows fine direction, cinematography and acting ensemble. Thank you. A.G.
Bob S. Posted 8 months ago
This is the most commercially viable film and it that should be made.
Erica O. Posted 8 months ago
The narration and music choices make this seem a bit cheesy for me.
Jim H. Posted 8 months ago
This is a great low budget thriller concept also reminiscent of some of the tough urban dramas currently coming out of England like "Harry Brown". It would be well worth funding.
Arsen O. Posted 8 months ago
maybe next time

Catherine C. Posted 8 months ago
I want to see more! This is what's out there in the real world ,not vampires and zombies.
Patrick M. Posted 8 months ago
Great concept. Beautifully shot. A powerful story. I like that the villain is someone so close. In the real world, bad people are not busting down the door with guns everyday. But in the real world, bad people are doing these kinds of things every day and are often never seen or held accountable. It is a brave story. Well done and I look forward to seeing the full film.
Richard M. Posted 8 months ago
Looks like it is going to be a very interesting and captivating film, well done.

Afzal H. Posted 8 months ago
Great project! Good luck to you guys.
Bruce M. Posted 8 months ago
Solid production values, good performances, but left wondering who was who.
John V. Posted 8 months ago
This looks like the kind of film we want to see coming out of Toronto; it is a good, solid dram/thriller that draws on the cultural complexity that is the hallmark of our city. Yet it doesn't pander or "explain," it seems to just let the story unfold naturally. Judging from the trailer, it appears to be conceived in a way that is commiserate with its budget so it does not look forced or under-resourced. There is a grittiness to the photography that works well with the story being told and clearly, there are some very talented actors involved. I want to see more!
George G. Posted 8 months ago
Important subject matter, artfully presented. Current events relevant to the film subject will drive interest.
Sara S. Posted 8 months ago
This looks really promising. Looking forward to seeing where this goes. Not sure I like the title though.
Gerald C. Posted 8 months ago
Can't wait to see the finished product.
Gary A. Posted 8 months ago
Look forward to seeing this offering by a clearly talented director and writer.
