"Six Months" is the harrowing and heartwarming story of Luke, an average 18 year old boy who's just been informed he only has six months to live. Depressed and embittered, Luke drops out of school and withdraws; that is of course until he meets Sidney, a girl who just might change everything. She shows him how to find renewed meaning in his life by spend his remaining time doing good for those around him. Luke joins the Big Brother/Big Sister program but the little girl he's paired with is less than receptive. Can Luke build a relationship with his Little Sister, overcome his fears with Sidney, and turn everyone's life around, in only six months?

I have been studying fim for over 4 years and worked on more movies then I can count. I came up with the idea for Six Months originally for a web series but through development it got changed to a feature film. I hope to have this be my first of many feature films.
It's healthy to contemplate our own mortality - but it can be scary and is often avoided. This trailer (and hopefully movie) forces the issue. And was that Ben Folds singing in the background? Make this movie a reality!

its too bad this looked quite amateur.
Jes H. Posted 6 months ago
great concept, I love how this truly relates to real life. Camera angles could be a tad wider so you can capture the full effect of the scene, other than that its a great trailer.

Touching, good work.

Will try and make time to watch some of the other missions for this one

There's a lot of good here, but it needs work
Mike S. Posted 6 months ago
Actin is lacking and I think I've seen this plot too many times
Joslyn P. Posted 7 months ago
Looks like it could make a good film! good luck!
Carol Ann T. Posted 7 months ago
Good story seems to be more of a documentary, believe this film has a very good message with work good be a really great film
Jason v. Posted 7 months ago
Background music and the concept is really nice. The acting seems a little week unfortunately.
Meg L. Posted 7 months ago
Really weak acting. Really weak. I like the positivity and heartfelt idea, but it looks like a high school project.
Diane N. Posted 7 months ago
this is a really hard subject to make a story of. goof luck on this project.

This looks really interesting

This could be a really beautiful story with real emotional resonance and all that. Super difficult subject area to act the circumstances of; everybody's making an honest try; it could be ratcheted up several notches, though; it could feel more "life or death." Some simple cinematography things--like how the doctor and patient don't really match together (ie, both are looking to the right) in the opening bit--and some improved sound could make it a lot better. Also, not quite sure what the struggle is; does being a big brother solve the existential crisis? If so, we've seen the whole movie already; if not, what else happens? What complicates things? What does the main character really want/need? Promising stuff; just not quite there yet.

Wicked!

cute young team but clearly not ready for this competition. would love to see what they can do in a few years.
James M. Posted 7 months ago
I actually really like this concept. Thought the trailer could have been better though.
Marlene S. Posted 7 months ago
This has potential but I'm not quite convinced of its believability based on what I saw in the trailer.
Smon A. Posted 7 months ago
Good god! More tragedy?
Amanda B. Posted 7 months ago
The acting might not be the best, but the story is an important one that a lot of people will appreciate.
Cari J. Posted 7 months ago
Great concept. The acting could use some help.
Danielle W. Posted 7 months ago
good concept

It gave me hackles
Isabelle G. Posted 7 months ago
needs a whole lot of work before it could ever be made.
Dan R. Posted 7 months ago
beautiful story. Something a lot of people can relate to but there have been some amazing movies on the same concept recently.
Gaylene V. Posted 7 months ago
The story shows potential, but I'm sorry to say that your actors need to work a lot harder to be convincing.

great!

Like the story. with more money this could be a very well made film
Jason L. Posted 7 months ago
The level of heart and the important subject matter here make up for the lack in skill of the technical aspect. With a million dollars you could hire a great team to fill in those gaps for you. Nice work.

Filming needs work but the concept is good.

sad and emotion this is what film is about

sad but touching

Concept is interesting. Filming and acting is weak.

not the best

Interesting story idea, not super sold the team can pull it off.. but I'd watch it.
Mo J. Posted 7 months ago
Awkwardly shot and acted, but the premise is interesting, and offers the potential for some powerful scenes, which often make for memorable films.

A moving story

Reminds me too much of 50/50.
Anne A. Posted 7 months ago
would love to see this movie!
Shane L. Posted 7 months ago
This feels like it's been done before. I don't really get the feeling that there's anything to set this apart from similar stories.
John K. Posted 7 months ago
good idea... little weak on execution
Chelsea B. Posted 7 months ago
Amateur production and acting, could do more with better resources
Michael M. Posted 7 months ago
I've seen it done better.
Sandi N. Posted 7 months ago
the premise is good, the acting is awful
Patty T. Posted 7 months ago
OK
Andrew S. Posted 7 months ago
50/50 is strikingly similar to this. I applaud your efforts at tackling a hard subject but this needs a serious rewrite and pro actors.
Katie T. Posted 8 months ago
I like the kids in this movie. They seem real. Despite it feeling slightly unoriginal in concept overall, the trailer had real heart and a story. The rest can get better, but you're starting somewhere solid. Well done.
Travis B. Posted 8 months ago
Umm, I think 50/50 beat you to it...
Mike L. Posted 8 months ago
I like the story line good luck !
Arsen O. Posted 8 months ago
very original.
Chado M. Posted 8 months ago
Taking a real risk with your content, which could polarize an audience. Look/acting/delivery were quite amateur but given appropraite gear/crew/actors it could work. Personally not a huge fan of sad stories - tell me it's got a happy ending "we were just kidding bout yer cancer dude" and i'll up it to an 8 Good luck guys :)
Jordan N. Posted 8 months ago
good trailer and concept i just didnt like how he said he had cancer to the girl, threw me off
Darryl L. Posted 8 months ago
Why weren't his parents with him at the doctor??
David Z. Posted 8 months ago
Good luck guys - show some MB pride!
Brad D. Posted 8 months ago
Some nice cinematography, audio is clear (thank god), but I don't know how I feel about this one. The main character's lilt in their delivery makes me not really care about them. Did you get permission to use the Ben Fold's song? That's impressive if so. If you get through you need a recast.. I'm thinking 50/50 may have been an influence on this one.. The few jokes in the trailer don't really sell. Good luck!
Mohamad M. Posted 8 months ago
Hey Congrats on this trailer. Really well done. You know, as indie filmmakers without more resources and talent than we can pull together through family, friends and colleagues in our immediate communities it's always an achievement when you can still make something that like this trailer. I can tell a lot of heart, effort and thought was put into it. Whoever directed has a really deep respect for filmic grammar and the shot selection felt organic and professional. Even though you didn't have the best camera and sound in the world, you still put together a piece that was compelling and quite moving. Got goosebumps watching and would totally watch this. Well done!
Araxi K. Posted 8 months ago
A very touching story, cancer hits anyone, no matter the age. I wish the feel of the video was either a bit more professional or going all the way 'amateur' with camera phones/ smaller cameras to give a more realistic feel. But making film isn't easy and you have a beautiful soul in your intentions.
Michelle G. Posted 8 months ago
Sorry - it's a cute idea, but entirely unrealistic - a cancer diagnosis in an 18 year-old? that doesn't get any treatment? An 18 year-old boy being paired up with a 10 year old girl in a Big-Brothers program? And unfortunately, the cinematography and acting isn't up to snuff. Better luck next time.
Lindsey M. Posted 8 months ago
Ambitious topic, likeable cast. Seems like this would be a very heartwarming story. Good luck in the competition guys!
Amy Z. Posted 8 months ago
Love the musical choice.
Luke S. Posted 8 months ago
Well put together. The acting's a little stiff, but a decent effort.
mark S. Posted 8 months ago
I think this is a good story and could if directed right with better sound and lighting could actually turn out to be a great movie.
I thought the acting was fair not optimal but not terrible...and editing was great
good luck to you
Kevin P. Posted 8 months ago
The acting is just terrible. The story is semi-interesting. I know your looking for that documentary look but... Oh you weren't? I suggest a few lighting and camera classes You need a better sound guy, way too high of a noise floor ADR was good though.
I gave this a 5 because your editing skills are top notch, in a few years you could be really good, keep it up.
Kelly G. Posted 8 months ago
Great job in editing.
Next time, for such a mature subject, it might be wiser to get an older, more experienced actor. An 18 yr old spouting cliches about life sucking and using time wisely (even if he does have cancer) runs the risk of coming off trite to an older audience.
