Overview

Synopsis

Filmmaking duo Neil and Maya are making the world's first film written by artificial intelligence. Maya's computer program - AutoScript – generates a film titled Two Females, One Masculine, and a Chimpanzee, (TFOMAAC). It's perfect!... or is it?
Besides the far-fetched screenplay, the eccentric cast, and awful crew, TFOMAAC has caught the attention of film critic and self-proclaimed “Defender of the Arts” Daniel Riggs. After infiltrating the set, Daniel resolves to destroy the film. He gains Neil's trust, suggesting outrageous story elements that force AutoScript to perform rewrites. Will AutoScript write the worst film ever, or can a program capture the art of filmmaking?

A little confused as to wheather or not this is a real documentary about a real thing or a documentary-film about something that is made up. Other than that, it seems like strong film making :)

I like the enthusiasm of the actors who seem to be enjoying their characters and the music is great in how it creates the mood of the ensuing chaos. I can't give the film a higher rating however because the idea just does't grab me at all and I have no further interest in seeing the film. But that's more a reflection of the mockumentary genre and my personal taste than the film makers.

Okay... I'm biased - I love AutoScript.
We are listening and watching this ratings board! We've read your comments and want to dialogue with you. We are an agile project - we want to incorporate fan ideas/suggestions into our final product.
Since we can't respond directly to you, here's how to start a 2-way conversation: If you want to comment via a facebook post - we'll respond (as soon as we can)! We will also start to tell you how we're incorporating your ideas on our blog at www.beardedchicken.com . One day we might even reveal why we called our company Bearded Chicken Productions!
So far we are working on:
-Locations, Locations, Locations - more, some crazy, and all diverse
-Character workshops with our actors (many thanks to them as they only "met" their character a few days before the shoot). We will be bringing our characters to life (in public!) soon. It's all about stretching and finding out what makes that character appealing.
- Conflict and a satisfying ending - yes, smart ratings people, these are the pitfalls of this genre. We're working hard to ensure AutoScript's plot nails these - these are our key challenges in this project. We can't let the improv, adventure, and fun overshadow great storytelling.
We love it all, good, bad, and critical! This story is for you!!

It's a bit out there. It is very unique to say the least. The music was a bit cliche I think, I've heard it to much for it to be taken seriously. I was struggling with the concept a bit but I think it needs work. Good work and Good luck :)

This looks pleasant and interesting. The acting was all decent; nothing mind-blowing, but often very funny. Pretty silly concept (and I mean that in a good way). Curious about what this company is that's making the movie, why they want to have the computer write it, etc. Would be more curious about how the computer chooses to write certain things. Other than the "motorized scooters" line, there isn't much to go on, and even with that--did the computer mean to be funny? I'm guessing not; I just think the whole idea of what a computer would determine to be a compelling movie to be the most interesting part of this idea. I'm much less interested in the "I am a generic sexually-harassing pig" character, and more interested in what the movie's actually allegedly about. If you can come up with a really clever way to solve that problem (what does a computer write like?) then I'd be sold. Cheers!

Very funny, and well put together. My biggest hold up is that this still feels like sketch comedy for me - hilarious in the form of a trailer, but not enough depth for a full length movie. I can't imagine wanting to see 90+ minutes of this. Really well done trailer though!

Cute concept. But with the setting limited to a boardroom and some office cubicles would this not make for a better theatre piece than a film? The camerawork is too predictable for a "mockumentary". Don't let your cameraman see the script and rehearsals before filming.

The original concept that a machine is capable of doing this is very interesting. The fact that it's a comedy turns me off. In which case it feels more like a short film. Perhaps it could be expanded if the scope of the story is further developed.

The concept seems like a replica of South Park's Awesome-O episode. The actors are good but too young to be believable in the production and film critic roles. It seems like it was filmed in an office over a weekend, and sadly doesn't show any of the film-making mentioned in the synopsis. In fact, without the synopsis, I would be completely lost as to the story of the film. The music cue is also a little overused in comedy trailers these days.

It starts promising, but then starts to feel like an inside joke with a gang of actor friends hamming it up together and throwing paper around. It just didn't feel like it was going anywhere. Can you imagine people going to the theatre so see a movie largely set in a boardroom and a cubicle? I didn't get a sense of the interaction between the characters - LOVED the movie critic! That guy is a gem.
