impressive. looks like you will have a great fan base for when you release the film. I agree with Eleanor, it's all about the script and you already have a great starting point. Congrats on the book success and I look forward to the film.
Eleanor M. Posted 6 months ago
When the script hits, we know Pineville will skyrocket! It's all about the script! You can hype as much as you want or have cool trailers, but if your script is bad, your movie is bad. Lee knows what he is doing! I look forward to seeing the Pineville Heist in the Top 15!!!

I look forward to seeing the Team reach the Top 10... the international media hype already created... can't be wrong!
Michelle G. Posted 6 months ago
You've done a good job at explaining how you've built up the hype - but I didn't really feel like this mission video built up the hype for me - it doesn't make me want to run out and buy the book.
Lee C. Posted 6 months ago
You don't need to run out to get the book... the book is available online. It can come to you! lol We push the book because that's a good representation of the movie. We will promote the movie... when we make it! We do what we can to get people interested... Maybe a teen thriller is not your cup of tea! :)

I am enjoying watching the growth of this project and the fan response to it, is amazing!
Yvonne L. Posted 6 months ago
yup in a nutshell it is all about the script. May the best script win.
Lee C. Posted 6 months ago
Next week CineCoup read scripts... that's what its really all about! It's ALL about the script...
George A. Posted 6 months ago
I agree ...its good to be confident but not in a way that suggests the other projects are moving along because of family and friends.
Lee C. Posted 6 months ago
I am not knocking family and friends... I am showcasing that our project is unique in that we go beyond just 'family and friends' as we have received international press and have lots of international fans (that unfortunately are not allowed to be a part of the fan leader boards).
steve l. Posted 6 months ago
No actually there are a couple of others that have a very loyal fan base that is NOT just family and friends. Knocking the competion is not the way to go guys. Good Job on the mission up until the last sentence.
Lee C. Posted 6 months ago
Hey Steve. Thanks for the kind words... as for 'knocking the competition'... Let's be honest... we have been knocked around A LOT on CineCoup because we haven't shot scenes for the movie yet or people expect actors in our poster and have a hard time assessing concept art, etc... CineCoup wants brave and bold... I give you brave and bold... not everyone is gonna like it. I can live with that. Next week...I am excited for CineCoup to read our script because I believe that's the real indicator of a movie's success and potential... (see my reply to George A. above too).
Carrie W. Posted 6 months ago
The international media exposure and hype that has already been generated by the Pineville Heist Team, together with being able to attract a young heart throb movie star to the project, certainly should get them back into the Top 15 running with a wildcard opportunity. Great work!
Lee C. Posted 6 months ago
Thanks! :)
Lee C. Posted 6 months ago
To Enigma A: We aren't against the other projects here... we are for THE PINEVILLE HEIST and like all projects we are trying to show how we are different. How we are unique... and we do have some unique angles to share. We get criticized by some because we make bold statements. You can have your opinion... and I can have mine. That's part of the process and I accept it. There are no sour grapes... We can agree to disagree. No movie, book, painting or sculpture is going to be a hit with everyone... I keep pushing this concept that the screenplay is WAY more important than any Mission video... and we know we have a great script... and that's not just our opinion (and there is more than one of us that feel that way). All the best for the film project you love! Take care. :)

CineCoup is an extremely exciting and innovative project and the team behind the concept should be applauded loudly.
However, with regards to comments regarding the international fan base by Fen N. I am Australian, part of the international fan contingency, amongst many fans of Pineville Heist. One of my concerns with regards to the CineCoup project is that there is lack of encouragement (and I’m not talking about opportunities for being on the final Jury or having the opportunity to attend BANFF) for international fans to stay committed and take the time involved to support the project. When the Leader Board was released, there were no international fans listed. I emailed CineCoup with regards to this and suggesting that maybe they should include international fans or have a separate Leader Board for all fans to feel engaged. As indie filmmakers, I’m sure both regional and any international exposure should be encouraged. I’m happy to share those emails:
Good morning from Australia
What an absolutely great concept CineCoup has developed. As both a fan of film and having some involvement in the film industry it has been a fantastic and interesting project to be able to participate in.
Whilst I understand that this is a purely Canadian focus for Canadian indie filmmakers, film fans worldwide are getting involved; and I believe the Superfan Leader Board should be open up to international fans as well as Canadian fans (or perhaps have two!). This will ensure the engagement and interest of fans worldwide is maintained as well as opening up Canadian films to the international market, which assists the financial viability of films being produced and distributed.
Keep enjoying the process and thank you once again for bringing such an exciting and unique concept to all indie filmmakers and fans of film.... truly Brave!
Warmest regards
Tara
Hi Tara,
Thank you for your feedback. While we would love our international users to be included in the Superfan Leaderboard, it is unfortunately unfeasible. Superfans ultimately compete for a trip to Banff and the headache of dealing with international travel aside; we feel the Superfan should be a representative from Canada since this film will be running in Cineplex theatres across the country.
Thanks again,
Michaela Community Support
With regards to the $2.99, yes that is for the e-edition; paperbacks are sold anywhere from $12.99 to $15.99, as it is here in Australia, where The Pineville Heist is being received with great excitement and interest. The paperback version is available Australia wide with successful book signings having already been held in Perth and Melbourne with other cities on the radar.
So please before commenting perhaps do a little bit of homework, or ask the team directly. As you will see, most comments made receive a response. Do other projects? With regards to sour attitude comment made by Enigma, only facts have been stated, because a great movie hinges on a fantastic script and The Pineville Heist script is already an award winner – fact.

Thanks! All films need International to be successful. :)
Enigma A. Posted 6 months ago
not just family and friends? the only one? It's a real shame your fanbase doesn't seen too interested in your efforts here. It must have something to do with your consistently sour attitude, excuse making and half hearted missions which have basically been ignored. Bravo!!
Lee C. Posted 6 months ago
Thanks for the comment. CineCoup is an interesting pilot project that requires a massive time commitment from fans as well as filmmakers. Personally, I think it's too long a committment to expect people to be engaged. They are only just getting into looking at scripts (which is number one in my book and way more important than having teams shooting scenes to impress fans - yes our storyboards were a controversial mission too). Running our project on CineCoup while I have been Associate Producing on another feature in Australia has NOT been easy with my time and technical issues (my laptop died on week 2). But I forged forward and admit our missions weren't slick and sexy... So to your comment that I have a 'sour attitude'... Hardly... I have been on here regularly responding to people in a professional manner. I get that our missions cause chaos. You aren't going to please everyone and I'm cool with that. I am bold and brave and LOVE my project. I think script against script... The Pineville Heist is on to top of the pile. That's just my opinion... you have every right to have yours.
Whatever film project you support... all the best!
Fen N. Posted 6 months ago
I agree!! For an international fan base not a lot of likes, and the person or people that have hit the hearts haven't even bothered to hit them all, I checked out the book on amazon and you can buy it for 2.99, cheaper than a colouring book!! Lol good luck,
Lee C. Posted 6 months ago
Yes... The ebook is $2.99 and marketed to the young adult market. This is a great price for the electronic version for this market. Question: How can you buy an electronic colouring ebook? That's a quirky comparison. So... if $2.99 is too low for you, there are other options available that cost more! lol
Michelle S. Posted 6 months ago
when you make something expensive only a few people can read it but when you make it affordable the whole world can read it ! the price has nothing to do with the quality of the book . it's all about the story within it !
Carrie W. Posted 6 months ago
Count me in as one of the international members of the fan base!
Michelle S. Posted 6 months ago
@enigma A a lot of fans do not know how to vote and rate because their not from Canada and that make’s it hard to get enough votes. you don't have to like the missions or the book but you don't have to be rude. lee is working very hard to make pineville successful . and when you send him a tweet or when you post a comment on cinecoup he respond most of the time. and he is always nice so i don’t understand why you say that he has a 'consistently sour attitude' . maybe it's your opinion but i don't agree with you.
Enigma A. Posted 6 months ago
dismissing the rest of the projects as SIMPLY THE INTEREST merely friends and family is SOUR....sour grapes. . What does being from another country have to do with voting? the log in and sign up procedure is the same. If you have a facebook account, it's virtually automatic.
Todd G. Posted 6 months ago
At least we're standing behind our projects with our real names and not a made up alias in order to troll the sites making negative comments. Thanks for firing us up Enigma, we know we have a great project and thanks for the time you took to actually, and hopefully, take a look at it.
Enigma A. Posted 6 months ago
well..that makes ONE OF YOU. I wouldn't have commented if I HADN'T taken a look at the project. As for my alias, it's my facebook IDENTITY and has been since 2007. If you're not happy with it , take it up with cinecoup. That's how it it extracted my name for this website
