I like the old school video. Not many teams had a video for this mission.
Luke S. Posted 6 months ago
Thanks Lily! I couldn't let the opportunity slip by. Making this vid was a lot of fun!
Christy M. Posted 6 months ago
Poster b
Robert T. Posted 6 months ago
Poster A, and funny video!
Jeff M. Posted 6 months ago
Good looking posters!
Kevin C. Posted 6 months ago
A works for me. The people in the text is interesting. The video is... pretty funny actually.
Luke S. Posted 6 months ago
**blushes** It was totally thrown together, but I had a good fix on what I wanted the vid to be. And it was still easier to do than the poster design...
Jolene K. Posted 6 months ago
I find B a bit tacky a much better
Luke S. Posted 6 months ago
Thanks Jolene! Definitely. Seems most peeps agree!
Jean Marc S. Posted 6 months ago
I love cats! You got my vote
Jolene K. Posted 6 months ago
hahaha
Luke S. Posted 6 months ago
You just can't go wrong with cats...
Brian C. Posted 6 months ago
I'm going with A
Jonah G. Posted 6 months ago
Meow!
Ben S. Posted 6 months ago
Posters look great! I like the Poster A, also got a craving for some scotch!
Luke S. Posted 6 months ago
Now that's an appropriate comment! :)
Ari M. Posted 6 months ago
I was expecting something like the Search for Spock. But cats will do.
Ryan C. Posted 6 months ago
You had me at cats.
Luke S. Posted 6 months ago
cheers Ryan! and the happy scotch... we could all use a happy scotch...
Paul T. Posted 6 months ago
Yeah - Luke had this burning urge to do the video despite it not being required, and it turned out to be pretty fun. I also love his cat photoshop jobs
Luke S. Posted 6 months ago
There are worse burning sensations... thanks Paul!
Zach H. Posted 6 months ago
Sexy, scary, compelling. Nice posters.
Luke S. Posted 6 months ago
Thanks Zach!
Paul T. Posted 6 months ago
Thanks!
Kevin L. Posted 6 months ago
Cat videos? Why not. I like poster A.
Luke S. Posted 6 months ago
The vid was optional. I couldn't resist the urge to do something ridiculous while Paul was beating his head against the wall doing poster design...
Paul T. Posted 6 months ago
Glad someone was having fun :)
Paul T. Posted 6 months ago
Thanks - Poster A seems to be the winner for sure.
Michael I. Posted 6 months ago
A seems more mysterious and subtle, plus I like the pictures in the letters.
Luke S. Posted 6 months ago
I really like the pictures in the letters too. Gives you a sense of scope, that there's a number of characters and things going on. Thanks!
George D. Posted 6 months ago
I've liked your funny videos as much as your trailer. Nice to see this lighter side.
Jeffrey C. Posted 6 months ago
I'm going with B.
Rick J. Posted 6 months ago
Thanks Jeffrey!
Vincent B. Posted 6 months ago
Version A, though B does connect on a visceral level.
Rick J. Posted 6 months ago
Thanks Vincent!
Luke S. Posted 6 months ago
Thanks Vincent! I think B would work with a slightly different photo.
Siluck S. Posted 6 months ago
A all the way!
Rick J. Posted 6 months ago
Thanks Siluck!
mark m. Posted 6 months ago
Going with B for the boldness!
Rick J. Posted 6 months ago
Thanks Mark!
Glen M. Posted 6 months ago
I like both designs - 2 very different approaches!
Rick J. Posted 6 months ago
Thanks GMac!
Jack W. Posted 6 months ago
Goofy video. I like it!
Rick J. Posted 6 months ago
Thanks Jack!
Luke S. Posted 6 months ago
Thanks Jack! Paul was working on the poster designs. The video was optional for this mission, but I felt compelled to do something a little off-the-wall. cheers!
Andrew C. Posted 6 months ago
From my understanding these are just mockups and they'll let you make posters for real when you get to shoot the movie. So I like both concepts, but imagine they will be even better when they are done by someone other than a guy with some crazy cats.
Rick J. Posted 6 months ago
Thanks Drew!
Luke S. Posted 6 months ago
Hahahah no doubt!
Luke S. Posted 6 months ago
The cats were very demanding though - you should've seen the posters with mice!
greg c. Posted 6 months ago
:) :) :) Poster A, but I think you know that already.
Rick J. Posted 6 months ago
Thanks Greg!
Robert J. Posted 6 months ago
Poster A. Not sure what to say about the cat video. An attempt at viral youtube videos?
Luke S. Posted 6 months ago
Just goofing. A video of making the poster would've been Paul tearing his hair out in Photoshop. Possibly entertaining, but not to most. The video for this mission was optional, so I, and my cats, had some fun at Paul's expense!
Rick J. Posted 6 months ago
Thanks RJ!
Chad M. Posted 6 months ago
At first glance I thought the guys arm around her waist was a roll of fat! Had to go with A
Rick J. Posted 6 months ago
Thanks Chad!
Joslyn P. Posted 7 months ago
I liked A best. Poster B was very awkward looking and it was hard not to notice the woman's chest which makes me think that's what it was more about. I liked the Cats :)
Rick J. Posted 6 months ago
Thanks Joslyn!
Paul S. Posted 7 months ago
Bad bust shot, make people think, too predictable
Roy K. Posted 7 months ago
Hard to decide. I like both for different reasons / audiences
Rick J. Posted 6 months ago
Thanks Roy!
Ian F. Posted 7 months ago
I vote for #2 at least conceptually. This specific poster needs a better photo of the actress, but I think it gets people's attention
Rick J. Posted 6 months ago
Thanks Ian!
Tina V. Posted 7 months ago
i like poster B
CR B. Posted 7 months ago
Poster # 1 all the way.
Derek B. Posted 7 months ago
Choosing #2. It's the kind of poster that gets peoples attention. It will bring kids back to the cinemas. Rekindle love for horror! Yeah!
George T. Posted 7 months ago
I actually like the IDEA of both - they take different approaches and reach different crowds. I understand that if you get a budget you might actually hire a real designer and take new stills to make these even more polished!
Kaitlyn M. Posted 7 months ago
Have to go with poster A! Unfortunately, Poster B left me with a bit of a "cheesy horror movie" vibe, which I don't think quite fits with what you've shown us so far about your film.
Plus, I think it works well for your film to show bits and pieces of your various character's lives, as in poster A
Ann-Marie S. Posted 7 months ago
The first one is way more better in this case. Showing the entire cast is a great draw for the film.
Luke S. Posted 6 months ago
Yeah it was challenging for us because our film is kind of a two-pronged affair. Hard to boil down into one image! The cast in the letters captures the scope nicely.
Andrea K. Posted 7 months ago
#1 without a doubt. The idea behind #2 is good, but you needed a better image to work with.
Yvonne L. Posted 7 months ago
Thats what I was thinking.
Pina V. Posted 7 months ago
Creeped out! #1 really does it!
Enzo V. Posted 7 months ago
Hahaha, love the cats!
andy k. Posted 7 months ago
If I could vote for your fun little video I would.
Luke S. Posted 6 months ago
Thanks Andy! Rocky and Arnie appreciate the support. :)
Jason L. Posted 7 months ago
To be honest...neither is really that great. You need to get a better graphic designer on your team.
Paul T. Posted 7 months ago
Not sure which of our 3 should get replaced... Myself I guess, since I was the one who designed the posters? If we win the contest, I swear we will hire an actual designer :)
Ben F. Posted 7 months ago
cats in ties? smiley drinks? cleavage poster? you have my vote!
Beth N. Posted 7 months ago
I slightly prefer B, but neither really grabs me. I like the B&W image of the woman in B, but I like the faces in the lettering of A. Maybe combine them?
Luke S. Posted 6 months ago
Yeah I've thought the same thing. Maybe for a final version!
Michelle G. Posted 7 months ago
poster B looks a little too fake.
Tony S. Posted 7 months ago
The characters in the letters are really cool. Not loving the rope, but it is more mysterious.
Patrick C. Posted 7 months ago
I preferred the second poster, although the man's arm around her waist looks like rolls of fat.
Paul T. Posted 7 months ago
I hadn't noticed it initially - he was grabbing so tightly, it might actually be her ribcage
Carolyn K. Posted 7 months ago
Love Poster A - really like the faces/scenes within the letters. Gives a hint without giving away the goods :-)
Maria B. Posted 7 months ago
Great work on the posters. Both look creepy, I voted for A :)
Natalia N. Posted 7 months ago
I like the photos in the letters of the first poster but the second looks more like a thriller
Luke S. Posted 7 months ago
Thanks Natalia! Do you ever leave the CineCoup site?? :) I agree that a combination of the two images could be really interesting.
Natalia N. Posted 7 months ago
LOL I try to but its an addiction now
Monty J. Posted 7 months ago
Great posters, and funny video!
Luke S. Posted 7 months ago
Thanks Monty! I wanted to loosen up a little - our project is kind of intense. It was nice to have a little fun!
Sue T. Posted 7 months ago
#1,more mysterious :)
Afzal H. Posted 7 months ago
I think you guys can do better. This doesn't really tell a story or create any mystery for the viewer to go and find out more about the film.
John K. Posted 7 months ago
Also voted for a.... brad makes some good points... clean it up a bit.
Brad D. Posted 7 months ago
I vote for A out of the two. Credit block doesn't have to be so big (imagine it as a one sheet, much bigger). You need to pull the title away from the edges (and even out the space on the left and right side of the title). Font could be a bit better. The poster doesn't give me much info about the film. Not sure I would watch it based on this alone. Good effort guys. Keep it up! (Motion Designer for Long Distance)
Gianna I. Posted 7 months ago
Great job guys-went with A! (Team Rosalind Revenge)
Luke S. Posted 7 months ago
Thanks Gianna! cheers!
Kat I. Posted 7 months ago
Well, It's official. I love The Search for Starkers. Perfect. :) Poster-wise, #1 is my vote. Keep up the great work.
Luke S. Posted 7 months ago
Thanks Kat! The vid was a lot of fun to make!
Rick J. Posted 6 months ago
Thanks Kat!
Luke S. Posted 7 months ago
Great job on the posters Paul! Thinking about a second career in graphic design?
Paul T. Posted 7 months ago
Believe me I TRIED to get out of this assignment.
Luke S. Posted 7 months ago
There's an opening for co-writer, if you're interested. Pages 23-75, all yours!
Kellie M. Posted 7 months ago
Love #1
Paul T. Posted 7 months ago
Thanks. Any strong feelings against #2? That one seems the more polarizing but it has its staunch supporters (my vote was for 1)
Kellie M. Posted 7 months ago
No, nothing against it at all, just something drew me to #1, and I always go with the gut! ;)
Rick J. Posted 6 months ago
Thanks Kellie!
Oskar W. Posted 7 months ago
The video was fun. Any chance of combining the text in poster one with the image in poster two?
Luke S. Posted 7 months ago
Yeah I've been thinking about that too. It'd be interesting to see!
Paul T. Posted 7 months ago
I was playing with that for the banner image - it was a bit busy
STeve R. Posted 7 months ago
I've always wondered just how that creative process works. Now I know. Thanks for the video. - Oh by the way love that babe in the video.
Luke S. Posted 7 months ago
Haha thanks! dunno if this is everybody's process. But it sure is mine. Especially panic. Panic is key.
Jason M. Posted 7 months ago
nice work guys glad you made it through the first round
Luke S. Posted 7 months ago
Thanks Jason! We're through? :) Congrats to you guys too!
Paul T. Posted 7 months ago
Thanks Jay. In good company with I-90. Looking forward to the top 10!
