I love the font on the left one....it makes me crave Sci-fi!
Frances L. Posted 5 months ago
Very cool! :)
MAK138 K. Posted 5 months ago
I chose the one on the left as it looks like you are descending onto a planet, thought it looked scarier ha
Frances L. Posted 5 months ago
Awesome!
Nicolas O. Posted 5 months ago
the red
Frances L. Posted 5 months ago
Great, thanks for the input.
Shelley B. Posted 5 months ago
I like the new illustrated ones, however the original is still my favourite.
Frances L. Posted 5 months ago
I like that one, too. :)
Glenn O. Posted 5 months ago
It's great that you have the Jaws poster in the video. Great posters all around.
Frances L. Posted 5 months ago
Kris loves, loves, loves Jaws!
Lorelei B. Posted 5 months ago
These are great. I enjoyed seeing you with the t-shirts with the poster logo on them in the Chronicle. Exciting.
Frances L. Posted 5 months ago
Thank you, Lorelei!
Jeremy B. Posted 5 months ago
Awesome, my favourite is the blue, but they're all great.
Frances L. Posted 5 months ago
Thanks, Jeremy! :)
Kendra S. Posted 5 months ago
I love the new illustrations.
Frances L. Posted 5 months ago
Awesome, us too. :)
Trevor D. Posted 5 months ago
the original is still the best i think, love what you've done with the t-shirts though.
Frances L. Posted 5 months ago
Thanks, Trevor! :)
Jen V. Posted 5 months ago
Excellent posters, and I enjoyed seeing more of what inspires you in the video
Frances L. Posted 5 months ago
cool! Thanks, Jen. :)
Michelle C. Posted 5 months ago
I love these! The different styles all have something to offer.
Frances L. Posted 5 months ago
I agree. It's funny - at different times I'm drawn to different ones. :)
Susan C. Posted 5 months ago
I like them all but prefer the red background
Frances L. Posted 5 months ago
Thanks so much for the input, Susan! :)
Richard C. Posted 5 months ago
Amazing
Frances L. Posted 5 months ago
Thank you. There were two different artists working on them, as you can tell I'm sure. We've now made the illustration into an icon of sorts that we have on t-shirts, etc. It represents the Global Space Station that we'll have in 2039. :)
Trevor D. Posted 5 months ago
love the new t-shirts
Heather G. Posted 5 months ago
I just love these posters! I would love all versions of the Red Horizon posters to place on my wall. If I could, I would vote again and for both posters!
Frances L. Posted 5 months ago
Thank you, Heather! :)
Betty H. Posted 5 months ago
The poster graphics are so incredibly vivid and each tells the Red Horizon story. Have a look here.
Frances L. Posted 5 months ago
Thanks, Betty! :)
Meaghan D. Posted 5 months ago
I love Marc's picture, really creates a connection with the characters.
Frances L. Posted 5 months ago
That's great to hear, Meaghan! :)
Lori T. Posted 5 months ago
I also like that you are adding more images now. It's great see the drawing from "Marc" to his mom. I look forward to getting to know her more.
Frances L. Posted 5 months ago
Thanks, we definitely want to keep showing you more. :)
Lori T. Posted 5 months ago
I like the blue best.
Frances L. Posted 5 months ago
Cool! :)
Jolene K. Posted 6 months ago
to bad you can only pick one I like both equally
Frances L. Posted 5 months ago
Thanks, Jolene! :)
Roy I. Posted 6 months ago
i enjoyed the poster video.
Frances L. Posted 6 months ago
Great to hear! :)
Dan D. Posted 6 months ago
I think I like the original best. Great work on them all though.
Frances L. Posted 6 months ago
Thanks for the comment, Dan!
Lynn H. Posted 6 months ago
Of a and b, a is my preference
Frances L. Posted 6 months ago
Cool! :)
Donald Y. Posted 6 months ago
Both posters are good. And I like the alternate poster as it has a real background like you'd see in space. They don't give detail of the movie but at least they do tell us where we are going, and both of the first posters infer it will be hot.
Frances L. Posted 6 months ago
Awesome! :)
Karen J. Posted 6 months ago
easier on the eyes
Frances L. Posted 6 months ago
Cool - which one? or both? :)
Rod M. Posted 6 months ago
Boy, it is difficult to choose. B is quite clear what is the focus - space ship. A is more mysterious - heading deep into something.
Frances L. Posted 6 months ago
Great comment, Thanks!
Lu C. Posted 7 months ago
Posters are to draw audiences in. Poster A lettering even draws in. Anyways, there is more than just space satellite suggested in Poster A, so broader audience.
Frances L. Posted 6 months ago
Very cool! Thanks. :)
Joslyn P. Posted 7 months ago
I liked the illustrated Version 1. I liked the dark blue. but B was the next best
Frances L. Posted 6 months ago
Thanks for the feedback, Joslyn! :)
Tracy R. Posted 7 months ago
I've got to say I like the image below with the porthole with the blood and mars in the background better than either of the poster options above. If I have to pick one of the above, I'll go with A, but I agree with what Sara S says... don't like that font in Poster A. (It works in the version down below though for some reason).
Frances L. Posted 6 months ago
Great feedback, Tracy. Thanks! We like that one, too. :)
Sara S. Posted 7 months ago
So I voted for B (agree on the A font being to spacy) but my true favorite is the illustrated version 1. That thing is golden.
Frances L. Posted 7 months ago
Thanks for the comment, Sara! :)
Heather B. Posted 7 months ago
2nd poster is my fav. Simple - but you know what's happening here. Orange is powerful - will catch the eye.
Frances L. Posted 7 months ago
Cool, thanks for the comment Heather! :)
Shelley O. Posted 7 months ago
I like the layers of poster A, but the font is brutal - too stereotypical 'space'
Frances L. Posted 7 months ago
Thanks for the input! :)
Michael L. Posted 7 months ago
I like ALL the posters... this was the most difficult vote to cast of all the missions I explored. Great work - [Mr. Tom]
Frances L. Posted 7 months ago
Thanks, Michael! :)
Patrick G. Posted 7 months ago
very kubrikish - is that a thing?
Frances L. Posted 7 months ago
We like made-up words - so even if it isn't, we know what you mean. :) And thanks!
Ryan B. Posted 7 months ago
Could mean blood?
Frances L. Posted 7 months ago
Very likely blood!
Curtis B. Posted 7 months ago
Way to much RED!
Frances L. Posted 7 months ago
We'll definitely keep that in mind! Thanks for your feedback! :)
lisa m. Posted 7 months ago
I like the blue one!
Frances L. Posted 7 months ago
Cool, thanks for the input Lisa. :)
Stephanie B. Posted 7 months ago
I like the 2nd one best.
Frances L. Posted 7 months ago
Thanks for the feedback, Stephanie! :)
Merle P. Posted 7 months ago
B
Frances L. Posted 7 months ago
Great! :)
Jessica L. Posted 7 months ago
Love the simplicity of the posters, it's perfection!
Frances L. Posted 7 months ago
Awesome to hear! Thanks, Jessica! :)
Betty H. Posted 7 months ago
I think I posted about my favourite Red Horizon Poster before today, however, I'm not taking any chances..... This is my overall favourite of all the 60 submissions.
Frances L. Posted 7 months ago
Love your enthusiasm!! Thanks for your continued support. :)
Betty H. Posted 7 months ago
I like all of them, but my favourite is A. It brings to my mind a sense of mystery and make me anticipate, even more than ever, what will happen on Red Horizon.
Frances L. Posted 7 months ago
Great comment, Betty! :)
Laurie D. Posted 7 months ago
Very creative work! Looking forward to more from your team. Glad to see you are the critic's pick this week.
Frances L. Posted 7 months ago
Thanks, Laurie! :)
Del L. Posted 7 months ago
I like the one on the left because it tells more of a story. I like the one on the right because it's more iconic, meaning that it's an identifiable symbol. Great work!
Frances L. Posted 7 months ago
Great comment, thank you! :)
scott w. Posted 7 months ago
i am sorry i like the posters but this should have never won critics pic they are so similar to one another and there is way better posters out there
patricia s. Posted 7 months ago
my favorite is A
Frances L. Posted 7 months ago
Great to hear, Patricia! :)
Andre v. Posted 7 months ago
Really close vote... I like the extra picture poster though - the contrast works for me. (Life of a Locksmith)
Frances L. Posted 7 months ago
Great comment, Andre. Thanks! :)
Heather G. Posted 7 months ago
Wow 50/50! Both posters are just too good!
Frances L. Posted 7 months ago
It's so close, isn't it! :)
Alan N. Posted 7 months ago
Poster Video: agreed.
Frances L. Posted 7 months ago
Cool! :)
Alan N. Posted 7 months ago
Poster B: More scientific looking.
Frances L. Posted 7 months ago
Very cool comment. We love our scientists - after all, couldn't get to Mars without them. :)
Betty H. Posted 7 months ago
love this one most of all
Frances L. Posted 7 months ago
Awesome, Betty! :)
Neil M. Posted 7 months ago
Still like INSIDE OUT most probably. And while I like the design approach of B, I find A has a more tension... has a visceral feel.
Holly F. Posted 7 months ago
the unknown, the mystery, the drama. poster A
Frances L. Posted 7 months ago
Awesome, Holly! :)
Michelle G. Posted 7 months ago
I really like your poster video - great use of the opportunity to share even more about yourselves - I'm actually surprised others didn't do this.
Frances L. Posted 7 months ago
Thanks, Michelle!
Alexa H. Posted 7 months ago
my favourite is definitely A, but i dont like the text orientation..
Frances L. Posted 7 months ago
Thanks for the feedback, Alexa! :)
Will B. Posted 7 months ago
I love the illustrated version to the left here, could be a great alternate poster. Reminds me of one of those "eye trick" books, very catching. Great job!
Frances L. Posted 7 months ago
Awesome, thanks Will! :0
Matt S. Posted 7 months ago
KB, we seem to share the same poster philosophy.
Tyler H. Posted 7 months ago
I like the dark background, but not the bouncy text.
Brianne N. Posted 7 months ago
Agreed!
Frances L. Posted 7 months ago
Thanks for the feedback, Brianne!
Frances L. Posted 7 months ago
Great input, thanks!
anda r. Posted 7 months ago
I really prefer the Inside out poster.
Frances L. Posted 7 months ago
Hi Anda....we like that one, too! :)
Darren R. Posted 7 months ago
Poster A works for me. Nice work in the extra slots. #absolutionmovie.
Frances L. Posted 7 months ago
Thanks, Darren! :)
Michelle G. Posted 7 months ago
I'm a little disappointed that you guys didn't go with the picture that's on your facebook page. I found both of these posters a little too unreal - I prefer the image of the red planet. Also not a big fan of the lettering going into the planet.
Frances L. Posted 7 months ago
Thanks for the comment, Michelle! We like that one, too! :)
tess o. Posted 7 months ago
chose B but prefer illustrated v1; the best though is inside out - drew me in from the start
Frances L. Posted 7 months ago
Thanks Tess. It draws us, too! :)
Daniel H. Posted 7 months ago
I prefer the blue poster because I think the higher contrast translates better.
Frances L. Posted 7 months ago
Great to get your feedback, Daniel. Thank you! :)
Yvonne L. Posted 7 months ago
Version 1 for sureeeee !!!!
Frances L. Posted 7 months ago
Love your enthusiasm! :)
John K. Posted 7 months ago
Both are ok but I went with A as I liked the feel of it.
Frances L. Posted 7 months ago
Cool, thanks John! :)
Sarah B. Posted 7 months ago
I'm voting A on this one. I like both but poster B suggests more documentary to me where poster A gives me more of a fiction/suspense feel right away. But the Inside Out image is most compelling of them all I think.
Frances L. Posted 7 months ago
Awesome! Thanks, Sarah! :)
Lowell D. Posted 7 months ago
Nice job. I prefer poster B, they are both nice though. Really liked your video too, nice to see another video talking process and inspiration. - Team WolfCop
Frances L. Posted 7 months ago
Thanks, Lowell! It was great watching your process, as well. :)
Scott M. Posted 7 months ago
I like Poster A and INSIDE OUT best - I suppose I'm more drawn to the feeling of 'realness' as vs. the illustration... I think I feel more like I'm 'in' the situation as vs the illustration that requires more interpretation.
Frances L. Posted 7 months ago
Great comment, Scott. Thank you! :)
Kaitlyn M. Posted 7 months ago
Hm, to be completely honest I like both Illustrated Version 1 and "INSIDE OUT" a little bit more than the other two choices. (Both have a little more visual contrast, and I can't help but love the hints of story you get in INSIDE OUT). Between the other two choices I've got to go to A. A little bit stronger compositionally; I love the use of text to draw you into the central images you've got layered in there.
Frances L. Posted 7 months ago
Thoughtful comment, Kaitlyn. Thank you! :)
Afzal H. Posted 7 months ago
I think you guys should have used "Illustrated version 1" as one of the main versions.
Ryan G. Posted 7 months ago
I agree. I think Version 1 has a nice colour contrast.
Frances L. Posted 7 months ago
Cool, thanks for the input! :)
Frances L. Posted 7 months ago
Great comment, Afzal. We all love that one, too. :)
Afzal H. Posted 7 months ago
This is just the beginning :) Later on you'll have more time and better resources to make it into something more spectacular!
Doug G. Posted 7 months ago
Tough call. Both are great designs.
Frances L. Posted 7 months ago
Thanks, Doug! :)
Brad D. Posted 7 months ago
Definitely B. has that Saul Bass thing going for it. Love it. (Team Ling Distance motion graphics designer)
Frances L. Posted 7 months ago
Thanks, Brad. LD has awesome stuff going on, too! :)
Mark B. Posted 7 months ago
lefty got my vote probably because the font was distinct. however, B has a lot of eye candy. Good stuff, Kris & Andrea!!
Frances L. Posted 7 months ago
Great comment, Mark. Thank you. :)
Betty H. Posted 7 months ago
My choice is for the first poster. It brings to mind the mystery and apprehension of the unknown in the context of the first manned mission to mars. It seems real to me where are the other, while brilliantly crafted are less real in my view.
Frances L. Posted 7 months ago
Thoughtful comment, Betty. Thank you! :)
Linda A. Posted 7 months ago
Both good Posters. If it were a book I'd probably be drawn to 'B' but for a movie I think 'A' would appeal to me more. Just my Artsy brain no reason other than personal taste. Great job guys and girls :)
Frances L. Posted 7 months ago
Thanks so much, Linda! :)
Tammy H. Posted 7 months ago
I really like B but ended up choosing A because it was more realistic. Love em' both.
Frances L. Posted 7 months ago
Awesome! :)
Gianna I. Posted 7 months ago
Good job! Ended up going with B...I think because of the coloring! (Team Rosalind Revenge)
Frances L. Posted 7 months ago
Thanks, Gianna.:)
Akash S. Posted 7 months ago
Chose A because i love the composition and depth!
Frances L. Posted 7 months ago
Great comment, Akash. Thank you! :)
Kelly G. Posted 7 months ago
Poster 2 by far. Great job guys!
Frances L. Posted 7 months ago
Thanks, Kelly! :)
Riley W. Posted 7 months ago
I liked your original image best with the window looking out onto Mars (or whatever planet that is) with the blood streaks. But for these two I chose A
Frances L. Posted 7 months ago
Awesome, we like that too. :)
Aiden C. Posted 7 months ago
Both are excellent but I like the one on the left a bit better
Frances L. Posted 7 months ago
Awesome, thanks for the comment, Aiden! :)
Keith H. Posted 7 months ago
Poster B is stellar (no pun intended). Great work.
Frances L. Posted 7 months ago
Love it, Stellar! :) Thank you!
Emersen Z. Posted 7 months ago
2nd one is amazing!
Frances L. Posted 7 months ago
Thanks, Emersen. Awesome! :)
Laurel L. Posted 7 months ago
Really like A. It looks like you're heading somewhere.
Frances L. Posted 7 months ago
Great comment, Laurel! :)
Eric M. Posted 7 months ago
Poster B and the additional poster both look great.
Frances L. Posted 7 months ago
Great feedback, Eric. Thanks! :)
Eric M. Posted 7 months ago
They've just got such a great period feel to them. Like when we were still trying to figure out what space really was and it was a romantic exploration.
KingPin L. Posted 7 months ago
Love the look of Poster A!
Frances L. Posted 7 months ago
Thanks! :)
Tim T. Posted 7 months ago
Fan of B. definitely gives a vibe like Duncan Jones, 'Moon' and their poster! Cool stuff.
Frances L. Posted 7 months ago
Very cool, thanks for the comment! :)
Ramona B. Posted 7 months ago
I like Poster B except I like the blue background better. (Probably because orange and blue is on every movie poster ever - I'm brainwashed!)
Frances L. Posted 7 months ago
There are a few sharing your opinion about the blue, so it will be fun to see where it actually ends up. Thanks for the support, Ramona! :)
Tally K. Posted 7 months ago
I LOVE the retro style!
Frances L. Posted 7 months ago
Great to hear! :)
Allan W. Posted 7 months ago
Well done! #i90Army
Frances L. Posted 7 months ago
Thanks, Allan. You too! :)
Bryce M. Posted 7 months ago
Lovin' both versions. Opted with the majority but dig the old school style of the one on the right.
Frances L. Posted 7 months ago
Awesome, thanks Bryce! :)
Lizzy T. Posted 7 months ago
Enjoyed learning about the concept of teaser posters in the video. I like it!
Frances L. Posted 7 months ago
Thanks, Lizzy! Great to hear. :)
Shane S. Posted 7 months ago
I like the alternative 1 one because the blue backdrop makes the RED pop and has a better paperback sci-fi feel.
Frances L. Posted 7 months ago
Cool, Shane. Thanks for the comment! :)
David M. Posted 7 months ago
Tough choice. B has a real retro-feel I like, but A is pretty damn cool-looking. Nice job on both.
Frances L. Posted 7 months ago
Thanks for the comment, David. I take no credit but thank you just the same on behalf of the team. :)
Frances L. Posted 7 months ago
Love these posters! I'm partial to Marc's drawing for his mommy. You can read Mattie's response back to Marc after she got his picture here: http://rhmattie.tumblr.com/post/46297844166/mommys-letter-to-marc-4
Natalia N. Posted 7 months ago
To be honest i prefer the poster shown below on the photo labeled 'inside out'
Frances L. Posted 7 months ago
Thanks for the comment, Natalia! That's the original poster, and it does have a pending doom given the bloody hand print. I think we all like that one. :)
