The first poster is way better, it gives less of the story away.
Joslyn P. Posted 7 months ago
I liked B. The girl is really cute and I like the bloopers :)
Paul S. Posted 7 months ago
I did like the blood and the angle looking upwards as well
Heather B. Posted 7 months ago
Powerful image with blood dripping from cross. You know something BAD is going on here...
Merle P. Posted 7 months ago
Both are good, but A
Jeff R. Posted 7 months ago
Honestly, both of these posters are very underwhelming. I voted for poster B just because it wasn't poster A. Although A is executed better (the cross silhouette has a good graphic punch to it), the blood on a cross motif has been done way too many times in horror. The other big problem with the posters is the font. I'd say its serviceable, but doesn't add anything. At the same time, you chose a font for the word "absolution" that is very similar to the brand font of Absolut Vodka, which is an association that you may not have intended, but one that I can't help but attach.
From what I've seen in the trailer, the hook of your film is the underground organ trade, and that's the concept I think you should explore when you make your next poster. #TeamMemoria
Darren R. Posted 7 months ago
Jeff. I think I'll take a shot of vodka before responding to your ignorant rant. After the good things i've said about your movie (and meant them) and the positive mention on Cinecoup Dailies and you come on here and shoot your mouth off like this. Tells me what you are REALLY about. Sorry, lost all respect for you.
Jeff R. Posted 7 months ago
Darren, I am sorry you feel that way. My comment was not intended as an attack of your entire project or rude in its sentiment, but was meant only as constructive criticism in regards to the aesthetic design of your poster. I still feel that my comment is valid, and I stand by it. I will be more considerate of my language in further posts and I hope this doesn't prevent any future discourse between either of our projects from happening.
Darren R. Posted 7 months ago
You must be a real pleasure to be around and work with ... :) ...
Shane L. Posted 7 months ago
Version A all the way. It's stark, bold, and creates mystery and intrigue. B is just unclear - not sure that it's really suggesting anything at all.
Darren R. Posted 7 months ago
Hmmmm ... valuable input. Appreciate it.
Andre v. Posted 7 months ago
Tight voting. I like B choice as it feels a more personal and choice A feels too horrific. Nice variety! Locksmith movie
Darren R. Posted 7 months ago
Now THAT's what I'm talkin about! Thanks Andre!
Mike T. Posted 7 months ago
Love the little girl's look in the poster......and the angelic white dress adds just the right touch, well done Darren !
Darren R. Posted 7 months ago
Well I'm no angel but she certainly is! ;) ... now back to my underground organ trade!
Kismet T. Posted 7 months ago
I thought your alter ego was as a blogger ... how do you get to the cinecoup dailies from here :)
Darren R. Posted 7 months ago
Blogs I guess aren't considered social media ... but here's the link Kismet http://cinecoupdailies.tumblr.com/ to keep you informed and the world informed! Thanks for the being a top fan of us - we need fans like you to make us shine!
Lynn H. Posted 7 months ago
LOVE Poster B. Is that Raywin Darren (sorry don't know how to spell her name!)
Darren R. Posted 7 months ago
Yep. ;) ... Raewyn is an upcoming actress in The Harvest Project series! She's growing with the movie!
Michelle G. Posted 7 months ago
I think the cross is too controversial, but perhaps that's what you're going for.
Darren R. Posted 7 months ago
I look for ANY attention ... ;) ... do you have to be part wolf and part cop to get any attn around here? LOL
Michelle G. Posted 7 months ago
lol
Doug K. Posted 7 months ago
On the other hand A is eye catching and will get people talking.
Darren R. Posted 7 months ago
Can you be right twice?
Kismet T. Posted 7 months ago
Sometimes it is the only way not to be wrong ;)
Darren R. Posted 7 months ago
I see you brought Kismet support, I know better than to challenge her wise words or I might end up under the cross of Poster 1. Heaven forbid!
Kismet T. Posted 7 months ago
Above ... Below ... challenge is what it is all about ....
Darren R. Posted 7 months ago
Well Kismet ... that means a thumb war or ROCK, PAPER, SCISSORS ... I'm a master at both!
Doug K. Posted 7 months ago
I'll attest to that, my thumb will never be the same!
Doug K. Posted 7 months ago
B for best! The girl is central to the story.
Darren R. Posted 7 months ago
You are SO right again!
Lynn H. Posted 7 months ago
Thats my fav!
Patrick S. Posted 7 months ago
B is intriguing. Maybe a little more color treatment just to take the edge off the snapshot feel of the image?
Darren R. Posted 7 months ago
true I agree
Natalia N. Posted 7 months ago
The first one is the best. Its simple and give a creepy vibe
Darren R. Posted 7 months ago
The underground organ trade is a creepy place
Doug M. Posted 7 months ago
Very well done.
Darren R. Posted 7 months ago
Gracias. I'm all choked up ... ;)
Rolinda R. Posted 7 months ago
Keeps you guessing....
Darren R. Posted 7 months ago
3 guesses ... then I'll tell you. ;)
Glenn R. Posted 7 months ago
Poster A is more intriguing
Darren R. Posted 7 months ago
That's what Charlie said ... ;) ...
Charlie M. Posted 7 months ago
Poster A is great (less is more) straight and to the point, strong visual and nice typography! Keep up the good work! =)
Darren R. Posted 7 months ago
I'm liking your thinking Charlie!
Nigel V. Posted 7 months ago
Fantastic poster! How did you get so high above her to take that great shot? Have you been breaking into people's homes and climbing on their rooftop??
Darren R. Posted 7 months ago
Learned a trick or two from Santa!
Darren R. Posted 7 months ago
Who said I was above? LOL
Afzal H. Posted 7 months ago
The little girl needs to aligned better in Poster B. I didn't see the other elements right away, which defeats the purpose.
Darren R. Posted 7 months ago
Hmmm ... are you an agent? LOL.
Afzal H. Posted 7 months ago
LOL. I should actually look into that. Thanks for the inspiration haha!
Darren R. Posted 7 months ago
Wanna be my agent? ;)
Afzal H. Posted 7 months ago
$1 million can get you many things including me as an agent ;)
Darren R. Posted 7 months ago
I've never gotten along with an agent before. You are 3 steps in the door so far LOL
Afzal H. Posted 7 months ago
That's great! I also have a lot of votes, may be we can bargain haha
Darren R. Posted 7 months ago
I'm open to any 'bargaining' ... I could use a social media EXPERT !!! because I take the 'social' out of social media and I don't even have to work at it! LOL
Afzal H. Posted 7 months ago
Perfect! I'll take care of things so you've a higher chance of making the Top 5 & we'll talk more once you collect the prize lol
Darren R. Posted 7 months ago
Afzal H. you know how to make people blush. LOL. Bottle of vodka for starters if YOU figure how to get me into the top 5. I don't have to trade any body parts for top 5 do I? LOL
Afzal H. Posted 7 months ago
The new Absolut Elyx is great - may be we can get them on board as sponsors and have a special poster made that goes with their branding "The Harvest Project: ABSOLUTion" No body parts unless you get inspired by tonight's season finale of The Walking Dead and decide to change the genre of your film.
Darren R. Posted 7 months ago
Funny you mention it I actually want to bring Absolut on board for product placement LOL. Instead of a worm at the bottom of the bottle a new trend for Absolut ... a body part? LOL - great promotional gimmick for all involved. Organ trade is a HUGE issue I plan to capitalize on with my story. I love product placement!
Darren R. Posted 7 months ago
Top 5 and we grab a bottle and call Absolut ! (after finishing a couple bottles of course!) - we could throw one hell of an Absolut party - show Cinecoup how to party! ;)
Afzal H. Posted 7 months ago
That sounds perfect!
Brad D. Posted 7 months ago
A is a stronger graphic treatment and draws my eye to the title. I looked at B for a long time and didn't see the crucifix. Obviously A has controversy (the blood on the cross), but I think that works in your favour as it gets people talking. A kind of makes me think of six feet under's key art. Nice texture and pale colour work. Good job! (motion designer on Long Distance)
Darren R. Posted 7 months ago
That's where we'll be is 6 feet under LOL.
Darren R. Posted 7 months ago
Cinecoup says that all movies get equal exposure ... really now?! LOL. Like your parents telling you they love all their kids equally.
Christine L. Posted 7 months ago
Great job so far.
Darren R. Posted 7 months ago
2 posts ... I need more fans like you! Great job so far - you've obviously missed seeing my first mission - absolute fatal crash on the acting. But effort got an A+ from me. Plus I wasn't paid. You get what you pay for. ;)
Christine L. Posted 7 months ago
I think Poster B has the potential to reach more viewers. People not looking for a movie with a religious component (subtle or not) may be turned off by the cross. Poster B is more subtle and may have the potential viewer wondering about the girl.
Darren R. Posted 7 months ago
You had me at Poster B! ;) ... thanks and don't forget to heart - makes me look good on the Cinecoup books so they say!
Gianna I. Posted 7 months ago
Great job on the posters, congrats on Top 60!! I went with A :) (Team Rosalind Revenge)
Darren R. Posted 7 months ago
Poster A really? is that because you knew I'd go with B? LOL. Always wanna be different don't ya! ;) Thanks for the feedback and VaLuAbLe comments. We'll see you in the top 40. ;)
Darren R. Posted 7 months ago
What ... no hearts? Come on!
Gianna I. Posted 7 months ago
Oops my bad..haha I thought I had. You're getting hearts for everything :) Oh and it was a tough choice...but I think A because of color more...got a thing for blue! :)
Gianna I. Posted 7 months ago
PS: Upvote every comment you like...it might be part of the 'special sauce'
Darren R. Posted 7 months ago
Think Cinecoup will give us a flag on the play if we keep being 'social' LOL ... thanks for all the help we need A LOT of it.
Gianna I. Posted 7 months ago
Haha don't think so! And no problem!
John K. Posted 7 months ago
The poster with Lily stuck me much better
Darren R. Posted 7 months ago
I'm glad. We still need to find her a heart though ... (in the movie)
Darren R. Posted 7 months ago
Don't be afraid to hit the heart button on everything ... ;)
Darren R. Posted 7 months ago
I'm learning social media ... help me
Darren R. Posted 7 months ago
What happens if I hit the Flag? Is that better than an Heart?
Darren R. Posted 7 months ago
More comments please ... I'M READY ... I was told to be more S.O.C.I.A.L but I'm fragile - Be Kind and Rewind
Kismet T. Posted 7 months ago
I like mystic elements of the poster.
Darren R. Posted 7 months ago
I LOVE YOU Kismet !!!!
Kismet T. Posted 7 months ago
xo
Darren R. Posted 7 months ago
A true fan! Don't forget to heart the posters and everything about Absolution. THAT is a sign of true love.
Tyler S. Posted 7 months ago
Wow you’re first poster is really cool! The only thing I wished you had done is used one font face instead of 3.
