Another movie set in the Pacific Northwest! This time: no werewolves or vampires.

Katharine Isabelle.
Steve A. Posted 5 months ago
I think the Katherine Isabelles have it!
Lew D. Posted 5 months ago
A lot of people are saying Katharine Isabelle and I heartily agree!
Steve A. Posted 5 months ago
Us too. We're starting our campaign for her tomorrow.
Lew D. Posted 5 months ago
Awesome! Good luck.
Diane N. Posted 5 months ago
the last few movies Lindsay Lohan played in - were all a bust. Casting her would be a disaster at the box office. i
Steve A. Posted 5 months ago
Curious to see what happens with The Canyons. The Rollingstone behind-the-scenes interview was awesome.
Sage B. Posted 5 months ago
How about Kate Mara?
Steve A. Posted 5 months ago
You know, you're the only person who's suggested her...and it's brilliant! Love her work in House of Cards.

Tyrath B. Posted 5 months ago
tough one...Katharine Isabelle is excellent
Steve A. Posted 5 months ago
YES!
Reaper C. Posted 5 months ago
I think Miriam McDonald from DeGrassi: The Next Generation would be great - and she can act!
Steve A. Posted 5 months ago
She's very talented...and we would love to work with her. Thanks for the great suggestion!
William F. Posted 5 months ago
I think I'm too old for this one! I'll go with...Katharine Isabelle
Steve A. Posted 5 months ago
So will we!
David S. Posted 5 months ago
Allison Brie from Community
Steve A. Posted 5 months ago
Very talented actress. Wrong demographic for this role, but would be excellent for a couple others in our film...
George P. Posted 5 months ago
I agree with Michelle Trachtenberg..great actress and seems to fit the profile
Steve A. Posted 5 months ago
We agree too. She has that haunted look...would love to work with her.
Mary L. Posted 5 months ago
Lindsay Lohan
Steve A. Posted 5 months ago
LOHAN!
Gael M. Posted 5 months ago
Aubrey Plaza's interesting
Steve A. Posted 5 months ago

Mark R. Posted 5 months ago
Ellen Page
Steve A. Posted 5 months ago
Thanks for the suggestion, Mark! We'd love to sign her to the project
Tony H. Posted 5 months ago
Reese Witherspoon?
Steve A. Posted 5 months ago
TONY! Only if we can get her drinking and driving
Carolyn K. Posted 5 months ago
Jennifer Lawrence - most definitely!
Steve A. Posted 5 months ago
Also one of the top fan picks! Thanks for checking out our work this week
Bart G. Posted 5 months ago
Allison Pill from The Newsroom
Steve A. Posted 5 months ago
YES! She would be amahhhzing
Rachael W. Posted 5 months ago
Ellen Page
Steve A. Posted 5 months ago
She's one of the top fan picks for sure!
Mike M. Posted 5 months ago
I'm thinking Isla Fisher from The Great Gatsby.
Sean H. Posted 5 months ago
She's been great in the new Arrested Development eh?
Mary R. Posted 5 months ago
Oh, either Elisha Cuthbert or Ellen Page.
Sean H. Posted 5 months ago
Good suggestions!
Alan N. Posted 5 months ago
Elisha Cuthbert - the right stuff and born in Calgary!
Sean H. Posted 5 months ago
She'd be great for the small town bartender. Has the right look for Vanderhoof area.
Donald Y. Posted 5 months ago
Ellen Page. She has the experience and international recognition. And she is able to play common people. I'm sure she would be right at home on this project.
Steve A. Posted 5 months ago
Yes! Canadian too...would she do a small indie part? I wonder...
Ann B. Posted 5 months ago
In for Katharine Isabelle

Katharine Isabelle...excellent choice
Sean H. Posted 5 months ago
DOUBLE YES!
Diane N. Posted 5 months ago
I wished the video had given more information on Elodie and her role in Mill and Mountain. My conclusion, Elodie is a drunk..is this a new theme developing?
Steve A. Posted 5 months ago
No Elodie isn't a drunk. Her creators are!! Haha ;)
Diane N. Posted 5 months ago
That made me laugh Steve, best joke I've heard in a long time.
Sean H. Posted 5 months ago
It's a character recipe! The overall drink and each ingredient represents different parts of the Elodie character.
We collectively agreed against doing another talking-head video intercut with footage from our trailer :)
What else would you like to know about the Elodie character?
Diane N. Posted 5 months ago
In Speechless, a Jocelyn Peirce played the Elodie character. Has she been cast for the part, and this Pay or Play is hypothetical? Or, she was a stand-in just for Speechless, and - when you win the million - you'll be looking for a big name to play that role?
Steve A. Posted 5 months ago
That was Allysa Hopkins! She's a friend of Sean Cox's and was helping us out for that mission. Signing a big name to that part or another role in the film at this stage would be huge for us.
Jeff U. Posted 5 months ago
They're not as well known, but what about Olivia Cooke or Nicola Peltz, both currently in Bates Motel?
Sean H. Posted 5 months ago
Good suggestions and the right demographic for sure. Jodelle Ferland was another suggestion similar to these two. Will add them to the list!
Elros A. Posted 5 months ago
Lindsay Lohan for the win
Sean H. Posted 5 months ago
LA VERDAD
Elros A. Posted 5 months ago
Did just miss the making of the coolest mission video? Man, and finally 5 made it in a video!!!!
Sean H. Posted 5 months ago
We'll make it up to you with a "Porch Crawler" voting party this week (and yes, we listened to you and put the dog in!)
Karyn T. Posted 5 months ago
Agree with many of the others. can definitely see Lindsay Lohan in this role.
Sean H. Posted 5 months ago
Strangely enough...she would be perfect for it. Self-destructive but with good intentions.
Louise R. Posted 5 months ago
I totally see Jennifer Lawrence as perfect for the role of Elodie
Steve A. Posted 5 months ago
Us too
Alvin D. Posted 5 months ago
Dr Quinn, Medicine Woman!
Sean H. Posted 5 months ago
No way, rose
James A. Posted 5 months ago
Love the idea of an Aubrey Plaza type.
Sean H. Posted 5 months ago
Me too. Dark and stormy!
Todd M. Posted 5 months ago
Have to agree with Dan C... Katherine Isabelle
Sean H. Posted 5 months ago
That makes three of us. Joking aside in our mission video, she is someone I would approach with the role. Thanks for giving us some feedback this week.
Gemma T. Posted 5 months ago
Lindsay Lohan :)
Sean H. Posted 5 months ago
Haha all press is good press! I'm sure CineCoup has the insurance for it right?
Kristina E. Posted 5 months ago
Def Lindsay Lohan
Sean H. Posted 5 months ago
Team Lohan strikes again!
Iris O. Posted 5 months ago
Aubrey Plaza - from Parks and Rec. fame.
Sean H. Posted 5 months ago
Have you seen Safety Not Guaranteed? I really liked her in that.
Doug M. Posted 5 months ago
Jennifer Lawrence.
Sean H. Posted 5 months ago
She's the stuff movie dreams are made of for sure.
TerraLee H. Posted 5 months ago
Amy Smart
Sean H. Posted 5 months ago
Great actor, but wrong demographic. Argh! Cause she's really talented.
Kellie M. Posted 5 months ago
Paris Hilton
Sean H. Posted 5 months ago
AH!
Shannon H. Posted 5 months ago
Hot mess? Jennifer Lawrence. No booze required for that crazy
Sean H. Posted 5 months ago
Hot mess, eh? Sounds like someone's been watching the new Arrested Development on Netflix!
Benjamin O. Posted 5 months ago
Amanda Bynes
Sean H. Posted 5 months ago
Pre- or post-cheek piercings?
Shauna D. Posted 5 months ago
Lindsay Lohan
Sean H. Posted 5 months ago
Time to start a tally...Lindsay Lohan and Katherine Isabelle are going head-to-head today!
Andy O. Posted 5 months ago
The rebirth of Lindsay Lohan's career!
Diane N. Posted 5 months ago
will never happen
Steve A. Posted 5 months ago
The Canyons might beat us to it!
jane D. Posted 5 months ago
Lindsay Lohan
Sean H. Posted 5 months ago
Thanks, Jane!
Lisa R. Posted 5 months ago
Kristen Stewart
Sean H. Posted 5 months ago
Another vote for K-Stew. Thanks for checking out our mission this week.
Betty H. Posted 5 months ago
Kristen Booth the star of At Home By Myself With You and many many others. A seasoned actor in high demand.
Sean H. Posted 5 months ago
She would fit the bill for Lana, the editor of "The National" Thanks for suggesting her. I like her work.
Betty H. Posted 5 months ago
My pleasure. Love her work.
Diane N. Posted 5 months ago
My pick for Elodie would be Jennifer Lawrence. "Elodie" is a very unique name, never heard it before.
Steve A. Posted 5 months ago
I'd hire J-Law in a second. I used to know an Elodie back when I was growing up.
Leanne B. Posted 5 months ago
Your "infographic" is not as detailed as others in this competition. Reading it I wasn't sure if character was male or female. From the other comments - it look like female... I wouldn't go as attractive as some suggested! Maybe more like Lena Dunham.
Steve A. Posted 5 months ago
I'm not sure if Lena Dunham is male or female either :)
Celene C. Posted 5 months ago
Lindsay Lohan, because unfortunately, this character fits her.
Sean H. Posted 5 months ago
Agreed. That self-destructive quality is something that people are drawn to, for better or worse. The Elodie character is actually very similar to Lindsay Lohan. Bad influencers and poor life choices overpowering the best intentions.
Dan C. Posted 5 months ago
Katherine Isabelle
Sean H. Posted 5 months ago
Hey, Dan! Love this suggestion and the fact she's Canadian too. This is the kind of crowdsourcing that made us want to sign up for CineCoup in the first place. Thanks for checking out our mission this week.
Jason M. Posted 5 months ago
Oh god, now I need to make a porch crawler. If I had to go with a star though...perhaps Kristen Bell. Elements of this character remind me of Veronica Mars so it would be a natural transition for her.
Steve A. Posted 5 months ago
I really like Kristen Bell! That's a good suggestion.
Alexa B. Posted 5 months ago
that cocktail sounds awful HAHAH, you guys are crazy awesome
Steve A. Posted 5 months ago
Sounds like you need to come to our voting party this Friday!
Tara S. Posted 5 months ago
Natalie Portman.
Steve A. Posted 5 months ago
Love her!
Ann B. Posted 5 months ago
Kristen Stewart...doing some interesting work, twilight brouhaha notwithstanding
Sean H. Posted 5 months ago
That vacancy would be interesting...ah who am I kidding. We'd take Kristen Stewart in a heartbeat!
courtney n. Posted 5 months ago
Kaley Cuoco. Love her
Sean H. Posted 5 months ago
That's two for Kaley...I need to check out some of her work.
Trudy S. Posted 5 months ago
I agree with the suggestion of Ellen Page.
Sean H. Posted 5 months ago
Us too. Thanks for the recommendation!
Janine F. Posted 5 months ago
Kaley Cuoco. I think she could also play hard as well as sweet.
Sean H. Posted 5 months ago
That's a cool suggestion. I'm not super familiar with her work...sounds like an excuse for some Sunday watching though. Any roles she's played specifically that speak to you?
Janine F. Posted 5 months ago
None in particular. I think I just want to see her as something other than a ditzy blond. I'm sure there's a likeable, trustworthy, tenacious, secretive blond in there just waiting to come out.
Dianne L. Posted 5 months ago
Or Ellen Page
Sean H. Posted 5 months ago
Thanks for the suggestions! And for checking out our mission this week.
Dianne L. Posted 5 months ago
Jennifer Lawrence
Sean H. Posted 5 months ago
I think she's in a dead-heat with Lindsay Lohan in our comment section. Polar opposites, right?
Candy H. Posted 5 months ago
I like the idea of Jennifer Lawerence.
Sean H. Posted 5 months ago
Me too!
Jennifer C. Posted 5 months ago
Jennifer Lawrence. Not only is she beautiful she is really talented. She can play sweet and innocent but also play hard and an ass-kicker. She is also really relevant right now.
Sean H. Posted 5 months ago
Hey, Jennifer! I think you really get where we were going with this mission. We LOVE Jennifer Lawrence.
Jeremy J. Posted 5 months ago
I'd have to second Reese Witherspoon!
Sean H. Posted 5 months ago
We'd settle for Chelsea Handler!
June B. Posted 5 months ago
Christina Ricci would be perfect for the role as described in this mission. She's got the innocent look but we all know how quirky she can be as well.
Sean H. Posted 5 months ago
She'd play it in a different way than I imagined. Good suggestion!
Bari D. Posted 5 months ago
Ellen Philpotts-Page could be a good fit
Sean H. Posted 5 months ago
She's had some really cool roles over the years eh? She'd be a dream to sign. Loved her in Inception.
Lindsay H. Posted 5 months ago
Jennifer Lopez? Jennifer Lawrence for sure
Joslyn P. Posted 5 months ago
THis is a tough one but I think Reese witherspoon would be good :)
Sean H. Posted 5 months ago
Two for Reese Witherspoon! Thanks for checking out our mission this week!
Michelle G. Posted 5 months ago
I'm not sure what the beach concoction has to do with the mission - unless it's a pre top5 celebration - but anyways, back to some constructive feedback: I think Malin Akerman would be great for the Elodie Warren role - she's got a very girl next door kind of feel but I feel like she could also shower a darker side that would be unexpected.
Sean H. Posted 5 months ago
Malin is fantastic! Love the Swedish-Canadian connection. She definitely has a Mennonite look that could read as Vanderhoof-ian.
Michelle G. Posted 5 months ago
I thought so too, but my only concern would be that she's not extremely familiar right now - so you may even need another character as well to pay or play.
Bill G. Posted 5 months ago
Drew Barrymore! Nice on the eyes and just weird enough!
Sean H. Posted 5 months ago
She'd be good for the editor of "The National" - how do you feel about connecting us? :)
Kerri S. Posted 5 months ago
Evangeline Lilly or Scarlett Johansson
Sean H. Posted 5 months ago
Nice! Evangeline Lilly would be perfect for another character: Angie...will put her on the list. Our team producer Steve A has his work cut out for him, eh?
Ron K. Posted 5 months ago
Katherine Heigl. Because I would watch any movie to see her.
Sean H. Posted 5 months ago
I would probably have to sell a kidney to get her...but it would totally be worth it
Paul C. Posted 5 months ago
Jodelle Ferland
Sean H. Posted 5 months ago
I didn't realize she's from Nanaimo. Thanks for leaving her name. She has the right look and energy...and might bite at a West Coast project.
Paul C. Posted 5 months ago
I'm 98.99% sure she would.
Steve A. Posted 5 months ago
We like those odds. Do you know her? We'd love an intro if you do
Paul C. Posted 5 months ago
I worked with her years ago, but I know someone who has hired her on several shows, most recently The Tall Man, which shot in Nelson.
Paul C. Posted 5 months ago
cont: and I'd be happy to put you in touch the producer. Her name is Rhonda Baker, out of Winnipeg. Let me know if you'd like me to put you in touch with her.
Marnie D. Posted 5 months ago
I agree, Amanda Seyfried
Sean H. Posted 5 months ago
Two for Amanda Seyfried! And yes, she's dark enough for the role. Great suggestion, Marnie!
Patti D. Posted 5 months ago
Emma Stone.
Sean H. Posted 5 months ago
Great suggestion. We'll keep her on the list!
Jennifer A. Posted 5 months ago
Jennifer Lawrence
Sean H. Posted 5 months ago
Love that suggestion. Could be Winter's Bone 2.0. Wrong for Elodie, but right Angie (the bartender at the local pub)
Shawn B. Posted 5 months ago
Nice analogy... Tara Spencer-Nairn
Sean H. Posted 5 months ago
That's a cool suggestion. Wrong for the Elodie role but could be good for the editor of "The National"
Donal O. Posted 5 months ago
hayden panettiere. Instant star power.
And you picked Mount Pope as a location. Freaking excellent. I've climbed the base and hiked the trail to the peak.
Sean H. Posted 5 months ago
YES! That's a great suggestion. Do you think she'd die her hair black?
Ahhh I can't believe you've been to Mt. Pope too. There are some big, exciting scenes that take place between the mountain and the road to the Tache Reserve.
Donal O. Posted 5 months ago
I so want to read the script. This could be so good for BC. Given the option, would you film on location in PG and Ft. St James?
I've driven that road many times. Worked a few mining camps out there and our helicopter bases were on that road.
Steve A. Posted 5 months ago
We did our homework before coming up with the concept. The cool part for us is that we could shoot prequels or sequels or tv series in different decades following different stories and younger/older versions of characters.
We're working on our top sheet right now and planning on what we can shoot where. Once we have another go at the script, we would love for you to read it!
Seth C. Posted 5 months ago
ps this mission made me very thirsty
Seth C. Posted 5 months ago
wow that hot mess looks like the last thing she remembers is having a good time. Im pretty sure the map to the highway of beers ends at your porch. Very funny mission fellas. I couldnt see anyone but LiLo in that role now.
Steve A. Posted 5 months ago
HAHA, the Highway of Beers!
Sean H. Posted 5 months ago
Paging Dinah Lohan....
Julie P. Posted 5 months ago
How about Michelle Trachtenberg?
Sean H. Posted 5 months ago
LOVE IT! Great suggestion.
Hannah P. Posted 5 months ago
Amy Adams!
Sean H. Posted 5 months ago
I wish...we've got a few, strong supporting and cameo characters for female actors though. So who knows...
Joe M. Posted 5 months ago
Reese Witherspoon
Sean H. Posted 5 months ago
Superfan Joe! Do you think she'd come back to Vancouver after This Means War?
Joe M. Posted 5 months ago
Why not? It's a beautiful city, its close to LA and she needs to distance herself from her "mistake".
Ralph M. Posted 5 months ago
Parker Posey!
Sean H. Posted 5 months ago
Yes! Though most likely we'd have to take Chloe Sevigny
