leannie j. Posted 5 months ago

Bren K. Posted 5 months ago
Good work
Nicholas L. Posted 5 months ago
cool
sharon j. Posted 5 months ago
Wow, great work guys. You've managed to make this look like it was part of a million dollar film already!! Can't wait to see the final film
Becca H. Posted 5 months ago
Very saavy work.
David U. Posted 5 months ago
Cool!
Lee V. Posted 5 months ago
A Lot of this stuff makes for great special features that I love watching on all the movies I own.
Matt H. Posted 5 months ago
Very well done!
David R. Posted 5 months ago
amazing guys!
Michelle C. Posted 5 months ago
great stuff
Jeff L. Posted 5 months ago
i'd watch this!
Darren F. Posted 5 months ago
I like the idea that you've put forward about the emotional attachment to characters comes faster with the personalized diary's. I don't know if I agree, as I am not usually a fan of shaky camera and the raw feel of it, but it is certainly impressive what you did with the money you had.
Ann G. Posted 5 months ago
I've learned so much about cinematography in these missions. Really cool.
Tessa V. Posted 5 months ago
Neat idea !
Celene C. Posted 5 months ago
I love the concept of taking home videos so that the audience can become familiar with the characters, their thoughts and feelings, I can see where that can save money in production.
Erin W. Posted 5 months ago
Very Clever and very true in terms of how we would be drawn into the characters through the use of a specific camera.
Heather O. Posted 5 months ago
Good job!
MAK138 K. Posted 5 months ago
very resourceful! it's great to see so much passion in creation. best of luck!
Mary G. Posted 5 months ago
very true about the B roll usage. I was very impressed with the end shot with them in the motel room.
Maureen R. Posted 5 months ago
Great Film, interesting!
Rosella W. Posted 5 months ago
Smart idea on using hand-held cameras! I always feel like the most impressive films aren't the ones that have $100+ million budgets but the ones that are low-budget indie flicks, because you know as you're watching it that the cast & crew had to get by with limited resources; it's way more impressive to see a movie accomplish so much with so little. Filmmakers who use their resources creatively tend to make real art happen.
Sunny K. Posted 5 months ago
Nice work in keeping cost down without compromising quality.
Rob V. Posted 5 months ago
thumbs up
Vivian M. Posted 5 months ago
Yes, talented and collaborative people can achieve impressive results with a little help from their friends! Good luck getting funding as well.
Harmony F. Posted 5 months ago
Being wise with money just means you have to be better organized, great job!
Joelle L. Posted 5 months ago
it's true about the home video stuff. Builds a stronger bond with the character for sure.
Kerri S. Posted 5 months ago
Good idea with the use of the home movie approach for some of the film. Definitely a good budget friendly move and still ties in well with the concept.
Jolene K. Posted 5 months ago
yep told like a pro
Mary L. Posted 5 months ago
It's true, it's all about the friends who will help.
Julius G. Posted 5 months ago
great idea!
Donald Y. Posted 6 months ago
It appears the team can make an acceptable feature film on a small budget. The use of an amateur camera does make an efficient attempt at having the audience accept the story as real, at least in their minds - suspension of disbelief. Very good.
dorothy e. Posted 6 months ago
I like the idea of home videos in the movie!
Gail M. Posted 6 months ago
Got bored with the chit chat and tuned out
Ben S. Posted 6 months ago
Good style!
Alex M. Posted 6 months ago
Such a one take
Steve B. Posted 6 months ago
madness
TBiddy U. Posted 6 months ago
The epic one take! Saweetness!
Mike T. Posted 6 months ago
i think it looks like very good quality on a limited budget i hope you guys get the funding to make a great movie
Diego A. Posted 6 months ago
woah this looks high budget, not cheap
Karyn T. Posted 6 months ago
Love the idea of a video diary but worry that i'd get the sensation of being travel sick while watching it.
Andrew L. Posted 6 months ago
Nice Job Guys...ur trailer is sweet!
Sara S. Posted 6 months ago
Not sure I'd want to see a feature mostly shot as video diary... That's a lot of potential for motion sickness.. Just a thought.
jane D. Posted 6 months ago
best of luck
R2 D. Posted 7 months ago
Good use of karma bud!
Matt S. Posted 7 months ago
Crane shot! Kabuyaka!
Lauren A. Posted 7 months ago
Its all about the people you work with. Also I look forward to seeing more from the handheld scenes
Nate J. Posted 7 months ago
Nice camera work....
Stacy M. Posted 7 months ago
I like that this is done differently. The video diary gives a personal effect. You guys have some sweet connections.
Kevin S. Posted 7 months ago
Cool style
Peggy G. Posted 7 months ago
You did well with the resources you had. Great mission video.
Tina T. Posted 7 months ago
Loved it!
Melissa W. Posted 7 months ago
Cool well done guys.
Mark G. Posted 7 months ago
The combo of high tech and low tech is going to be fantastic! LOVE the crane shot!
Derek B. Posted 7 months ago
Looks kindof big budget but I guess whatever tools you can get your hands on. Having experience and connections do go a long way. Moreso if you win this!
Allen M. Posted 7 months ago
This will give you guys a great variety of looks. Nice work.
Emily R. Posted 7 months ago
Great mission - you can see all the hard work this team in putting into this film. Congrats!
Aiden C. Posted 7 months ago
Interesting take on a cheap trick and the acting in the trailer is excellent. My only issue is how realistic is having the girl in her underwear with her brother. Just seems out of place in the trailer.
Brad D. Posted 7 months ago
Low budget video look is definitely a good money saver, but also requires some difficult choreography to have actors operating their own cameras. Did the actors do any training to operate? Or did you just let it happen naturally? As long as there's no Cloverfield-esque running scenes that would make me nauseous, should be cool! Nice vid.
Colin T. Posted 7 months ago
I am liking you guys more and more. keep up the good work, i'll be following.
Curtis B. Posted 7 months ago
Nice as long as you don't use it to much, Good Luck!
Nathan F. Posted 7 months ago
i'm for handheld, consumer grade, if it doesn't sacrifice the story. From the looks of your video, you also have the high end gear so I get the sense that you know what you are talking about.
Meika A. Posted 7 months ago
done to death :o(
Marianne M. Posted 7 months ago
Impressive work
Jexx M. Posted 7 months ago
Looks interesting.
Enzo V. Posted 7 months ago
Great framing and interview material in the black and white portions.
Yvonne L. Posted 7 months ago
Kudos on getting so much donated and done for nothing !!! There still are generous people out there willing to offer their time and services for free.
Emily R. Posted 7 months ago
really liked this, love the feel of the film
Sean M. Posted 7 months ago
I'm liking the spontaneous feel to the scene direction. Letting actors do their thing can often make or break the verisimilitude of a scene.
Kim T. Posted 7 months ago
Cool shots!
Natalia N. Posted 7 months ago
the characters seem so loveable. You're definitely right about being more drawn in with them using a handheld
Dahae S. Posted 7 months ago
cool
Dawn H. Posted 7 months ago
Doesnt excite me
Doug G. Posted 7 months ago
Loved the trailer. I gotta agree with Jason L below about the 'video diary' point. This looks like an interesting project overall, and I like that it's a brother/sister setup, not a 'two crazy lovers' a la Natural Born Killers.
Jason L. Posted 7 months ago
Great idea for the video diary, but in the interest of constructive criticism, I would caution you not to make the mistake of thinking that the story doesn't have to still continue just because it's a "video diary" portion of the movie. The audience will still lose interest quickly if the video diaries are too much like real life! And don't have the same conflict and subtext that the rest of the story should have. Good luck! Really keeping my eye on this one, it's right up my alley.
Lindsay A. Posted 7 months ago
Cool idea
Shawn B. Posted 7 months ago
That crane shot adds some sweet value.. thanks for sharing.
Sarah W. Posted 7 months ago
Cool stuff!
Colin Y. Posted 7 months ago
Sweet!
Jenna J. Posted 7 months ago
Well done.
Thomas P. Posted 7 months ago
Really did a great job here guys
Marianne E. Posted 7 months ago
this looks like it has a big budget.
Kevin F. Posted 7 months ago
Nice, good luck!

The Real S. Posted 7 months ago
could be good not BAD
Simon B. Posted 7 months ago
good idea
Eric T. Posted 7 months ago
Nice video but it missed the mission objective. What is a cheap trick you used as opposed to how you spent all your $$$$.
Susie T. Posted 7 months ago
cool.
Geoff S. Posted 7 months ago
I liked the use of the hand held cameras, as you mentioned it does give a more personal view of the characters .. and costs less yet still looks great. Overall interesting concept and look forward to seeing more.
Clay W. Posted 7 months ago
this is so Bad! ;)
Brock S. Posted 7 months ago
BAD was one of my favorite trailers. You guys are doing great.
Wally S. Posted 7 months ago
I'm confused by the conflicting statements that you scraped the bottom of your bank account to get this made, and that people donated everything to the production. It has hugely impressive production value and great execution - don't get me wrong - but surely something cost you money?
Annika H. Posted 7 months ago
nice work!
Jared Z. Posted 7 months ago
Very interesting!
Tyson L. Posted 7 months ago
:)
Maikol P. Posted 7 months ago
Elements like the video diary should be more apparent perhaps. Especially it's an important aspect of learning about the characters and connecting with them
Joshua B. Posted 7 months ago
I want to see more limits pushed!
patricia s. Posted 7 months ago
looks good
Corey C. Posted 7 months ago
That's awesome! Great camera work and editing too. Is that he breaker high guy as the drug dealer??!! Awesome!!
Cameron L. Posted 7 months ago
This looks like a rather interesting film!
Jeremy S. Posted 7 months ago
By far my favourite concept on this site. Great mission 2! Keeping my eye on this team.
Parker W. Posted 7 months ago
Excited to see more!
Laurel L. Posted 7 months ago
No one ever went to the back of the class for knowing what they were doing. People must really believe in this film and the people making it to lend their very experienced hands. To the head of the class! A+++
Thomas A. Posted 7 months ago
Great work, I'd love to see more!
Tyler R. Posted 7 months ago
thanks for sharing how to increase production value on a low budget, seems like you've picked up on some great tricks
Rob M. Posted 7 months ago
Wow - looks great, solid acting (Labine's great, as always) and the story drew me in.
Jay R. Posted 7 months ago
This guy knows what he's doing.
Vanessa W. Posted 7 months ago
Awesome.

Mitch B. Posted 7 months ago
Love this!! great job!!
Theo K. Posted 7 months ago
That one shot blew my mind....if you got that for free then you are one connected man.
Jl C. Posted 7 months ago
nicely done
Ryan F. Posted 7 months ago
Great work on the mission video... just a general response for a few of the comments below...Keep in mind that the point of week 2 mission video is to showcase secrets and avenues that are effective and inexpensive. Just because the mission is called "Cheap Tricks" doesn't mean the final product should look cheap.
Katie T. Posted 7 months ago
Great approach.
Ryan B. Posted 7 months ago
some nice shots. like the window one. nothing like a baseball bat and some cops to get attention.
Agreed, some of the behind the scenes looks highly produced but not on a cheap budget. Great techniques nonetheless
Billie T. Posted 7 months ago
This doesn't look very cheap...Love it, but not cheap.
Trevor G. Posted 7 months ago
Really Impressive trailer but these tricks didn't seem "cheap" at all, they look pretty costly, that ain't no fake crane!
Zach L. Posted 7 months ago
Great idea, should be very effective. As a movie viewer, I find home video style movies can be kind've visually exhausting to watch, especially if there's excessive bobbing etc.. But it seems like you guys are only partly using home movie style, so hopefully you can avoid that problem by using the effect sparingly.
Shannon E. Posted 7 months ago
I like what you've done. The process so far looks professional.
Brent C. Posted 7 months ago
Great job
Gregory K. Posted 7 months ago
so far i like the concept, but arent you worried about the low "quality" look will hurt how people see the film?
Jonathon C. Posted 7 months ago
Great job using the resources at hand. This is a great example of what collaboration should be.
Joe M. Posted 7 months ago
Great job.
Michael L. Posted 7 months ago
This was a well made pitch video, would have liked to know just a little bit more about the movie you are making -- but it was good to get to know the crew so intimately. Must have been fun to shoot! - [Mr. Tom]
Gianna I. Posted 7 months ago
Wow that was really impressive. It definitely looked like you spent a lot of $$ on the trailer-it really is wonderful having friends that are willing to give their time & resources to help your dreams come true! I loved your trailer too & can't wait to see the film! (Team Rosalind Revenge)
Michelle G. Posted 7 months ago
this was okay but I wish that they had gone into a little bit more detail as some of the others had.
Andy O. Posted 7 months ago
Where did hot dog guy go?
Kerry M. Posted 7 months ago
Great job
Joe B. Posted 7 months ago
Time and cost saving techniques are key.
Jacquie G. Posted 7 months ago
I am rooting for you guys, even if you are the competition! Jacquie G Pretty Life
Shane S. Posted 7 months ago
I love the trick with giving the actors a camera of there own. Also you guys proved with the well shot trailer that you can work with a budget.
Akash S. Posted 7 months ago
Awesome video, I think you really know how to work within budget constraints
Aaron D. Posted 7 months ago
love the crane shot
Rob N. Posted 7 months ago
Good work! I feel that this mission was WAY more successful than your pitch. There was honesty and it drew me in.
Andrew I. Posted 7 months ago
Yeah, I'm so impressed with how much you made it look like a large budget trailer with so little :) Great job guys
Jeff U. Posted 7 months ago
The last shot looks amazing - and to have pulled off on a small budget hopefully shows what you'd be able to do with a larger one.
Jimmy P. Posted 7 months ago
Looks like a real set! Awesome!
David M. Posted 7 months ago
Love your dedication; it really shows in the results. Looking forward to seeing the finished movie.
Jason T. Posted 7 months ago
I love that final shot. it's so crisp looking.
Nelson L. Posted 7 months ago
Well executed guys.
Lindsay S. Posted 7 months ago
Good job guys.
Sheleena B. Posted 7 months ago
Really like the concept and it looks well done.
Jenna C. Posted 7 months ago
Great job!!
Seth C. Posted 7 months ago
Can I take a ride on the supertechno crane? Nice work team.
Janine F. Posted 7 months ago
Love the cost saving 'home movie' device. Just go easy with the nostril shots. Don't want no Blair Witch scenario.
Scott S. Posted 7 months ago
great job love the techniques - team Rosalind Revenge
Jason S. Posted 7 months ago
Very impressive, this guy really seems to know film making. Love to see this project get made!
Laurel L. Posted 7 months ago
