I really like your guys concept, but you shouldn't just use natural lighting for everything. Documentaries will use lighting as well to better tell a story. Even a simple lighting set up, pushes your production value that much further.

for low budget this style works however how will that translate to the whole film if in deed you do win ?

I'd say it is far more a "realistic" stylization instead of an "artificially" stylized look. Or rather we want our atmosphere to look naturalistic and not idealistically beautiful.
The money will be put to good use to make a solid film.

I think Matthew had some good tricks, but the original trailer suffered from combination of good actors and inexperienced actors. That spoiled the effort from the good actors.
