Great work. I got great insight into the struggles the characters face in their lives and how it impact their relationships.
Serena L. Posted 5 months ago
This was well shot, just like your trailer, but some bits I found awkward without dialogue (like the laughing at the bar with his friends). But great job and best of luck, looks good!
Liz S. Posted 5 months ago
The daily grind has made this girl distraught, even though she has left her home town on an adventure. She left her home town where her boyfriend lives to accomplish her dream of being an architect. The long distance relationship is not working out as when people need each other the most - in the small moments of needed comfort - the two are not there for each other. It is a great peice of cinema and I am glad that I watched it. Thank you very much to the team I bet they have worked very hard to accomplish what they did.
Christy L. Posted 5 months ago
Just want to comment on how good your casting was. You can really see the hurt in her eyes, with out words. Good Job
Peggy S. Posted 5 months ago
Well done on that mission, guys Gret acting and great story scope. It must have been a lot of work to pull all that together in a week
Mikaela Z. Posted 5 months ago
This is a very nice piece of cinematic storytelling. The underscore is great and you communicate a ton of feeling.
Lily K. Posted 6 months ago
Very ambitious and well executed mission. Everything you've done looks good and I think people will relate to your characters.
Meaghan D. Posted 6 months ago
Love the song in the clip but I wish i felt more connected to the characters. Seems like it will be a great flick to watch.
Alex C. Posted 6 months ago
A very neat clip! I think your film has some great potential to explore the difficulties of those kind of relationships.
Samson W. Posted 6 months ago
This has some pretty good acting but I'm not sure how connected I feel to the characters. Good effort though.
Anita N. Posted 6 months ago
I was hoping for more emotionally. I didn't really connect to the sequence. But the production value is nice.
Dennis H. Posted 6 months ago
Watching your Mission 4 video has left me “Speechless”! Can’t wait to see what else this film has in store!
Paul J. Posted 6 months ago
The acting is pretty decent in this but I'm not sure if I was as emotionally effected as some of these people. Maybe I'm cold hearted
Martin V. Posted 6 months ago
The music was a little prominent drawing me away from the emotions that you tried to convey. Otherwise, it was very well filmed.
Bill A. Posted 6 months ago
I like this mission a lot, especially the red marker shots, very effective. Very natural to have no dialogue except the end scene I think.
Mo G. Posted 6 months ago
This is a wonderfully emotional sequence. Great acting and great tension. You really feel for her.
Kyle F. Posted 6 months ago
This seems like a modern day problem with much of the worlds population, I like how this relates to real life. Also great choice in music, it really does fit what was being portrayed.
Astra L. Posted 6 months ago
I really enjoyed this video! great acting, especially conveying emotions without any speaking, and interesting symbolism (i.e. the ring twirling)
Curtis T. Posted 6 months ago
This was fantastic! The emotion came through clearly. I loved the zoom in on twirling the ring - portrays alot in a simple gesture.
Leanne B. Posted 6 months ago
Good job at creating a way to get almost anyone to empathize with the character as most people have had a bad day like this and their special someone isn't there emotionally or physically when you need them! Very relatable.
Joann K. Posted 6 months ago
I like romance and romantic comedies but this one feel short for me. Is this a typical long distance relationship movie. I would need u to prove different pls
Jane M. Posted 6 months ago
Good sequences to reflect the challenges of a distance relationship and doing it all without dialogue
Ken N. Posted 6 months ago
Wow! Well done! Clearly you have some people who know what they're doing, which is a lot more than some of the other projects. Keep up the excellent work!
Keith M. Posted 6 months ago
This totally made me cry. Damn you!
Alexandra S. Posted 6 months ago
Really well done. The speechless video really sells me on the whole long distance relationship concept as a film. Emotional and moving!
Siluck S. Posted 6 months ago
Good work on zeroing on a part of your story that showcases the emotional challenges while also not having any dialogue.
greg c. Posted 6 months ago
Just a crappy day in the life - its a good way to show how a relationship strains. Well shot and edited. Always a team to watch.
Fern L. Posted 6 months ago
Surprisingly moving for a short scene. Really great work.
Robert J. Posted 6 months ago
Like everything you've put together this is very polished and effective. Relationships can be like that even when there isn't distance involved.
Adam T. Posted 6 months ago
Very ambitious take on the assignment but you pulled it off nicely. Some great visuals throughout the video.
Filip S. Posted 6 months ago
high production value on this misson.. shot very well and really shows you some emotion. would be interesting to see the whole film
jane D. Posted 6 months ago
love it
Sara S. Posted 6 months ago
Interesting... I think the emotions are genuine, and congrats on a well-executed mission. I do wonder a bit about context, as some previous comments mention.
Melanie O. Posted 6 months ago
I really don't understand what this has to do with the trailer and or story. She hanging up on him cause of a bad day at work?
Maddi M. Posted 6 months ago
Meh
Tom J. Posted 6 months ago
This scene works really well sans dialogue as everything we are supposed to know is clear, however, I think it is a little rushed... you could have taken more time and slowed it down. For example, if how hard she worked to prepare was important, let us have time to see that, and when we quickly see the interviewer rip through her work, it'd have that much more impact. The same is true with the two missed phone calls and consoling photographer friend, the scenes are a bit abrupt because so much is happening so quickly. I think you've got great stuff, there is no hurry : )
Lydia M. Posted 7 months ago
Such a wonderful way to complete a no dialogue mission, really relate to this girl and what she's going through.
Bobbi H. Posted 7 months ago
This video did a great job of being "speechless," so much is said without any words, each scene progresses the story line. Great job!
Sherri L. Posted 7 months ago
Looks great. What happens next: she is too scared to tell him they are drifting apart. He knows they are drifting but he is scared to say anything either.
Isabelle G. Posted 7 months ago
Love this.
Julia V. Posted 7 months ago
I really enjoyed the character development here. Can't wait to see more from this team. I look forward to next week's video
Renee D. Posted 7 months ago
great emotion in the actress' expressions, i can feel her pain. Not sure how interesting the clip is though.
Martin N. Posted 7 months ago
Lots of impact in this video. Somehow I think we have all been there, bought the teeshirt. Good luck!
Jenny Y. Posted 7 months ago
I'm really excited to see where this project goes and how this scene fits into the film. I already feel so much for your characters just from the trailer and this scene. Great job!
Lyse W. Posted 7 months ago
I really like the tension build in this mission, and it shows there's more going on than just a simple love story! Good job!
Emily H. Posted 7 months ago
the absolute best speechless mission I can't wait to see this movie made, GO LONG DISTANCE team GO, you guys rock!
Matt D. Posted 7 months ago
I like it, i've been there before, I think most people have. I can really relate and its enjoyable as a result even though this is a trying situation.
jack k. Posted 7 months ago
The storey pulled me in right away, most people have been there with the phone calls answering, not answering. Hoping for the phone call. It is a bad place to be in.
David A. Posted 7 months ago
Actress is very natural. Quite captivating to watch. Video is very well edited too. Really tells the story well and efficiently. A little bit heavy handed at the end there for my taste... but whadda ya going to do? Good luck!
Jordan D. Posted 7 months ago
Looks like you guys combined all of the elements very effectively. Good use of camera psychology. Keep up the good work.
Jon K. Posted 7 months ago
Great subtle use of the color red in many scenes, her face says so much, it's so nicely put together it leaves us wanting to see more. Great concept! We really do want to know if they end up together or not. Best, Jon, team 'Guillermo'
Bente H. Posted 7 months ago
I like your music choice and I really feel for your characters here. Well done.
Tara Y. Posted 7 months ago
I've had similar situations happen to me at work and it was horrible. I totally understand her need to reach out. I'm looking forward to seeing more.
Sam C. Posted 7 months ago
I'm in a long-distance relationship myself, and I can definitely relate. Liked the sequence very much and wish you guys the very best of luck!
Allen Y. Posted 7 months ago
I love the realism in this. It's very refreshing. Certainly one of the more professional looking projects as well. I'm really looking forward to seeing more.
Gayle B. Posted 7 months ago
Great choice of music. This brings back the feelings of my last long distance relationship, Very well captured and very emotional. Love it.
Petra P. Posted 7 months ago
Wow, get this in the theatres already.
Andy S. Posted 7 months ago
Stunning!
Marina N. Posted 7 months ago
This scene was great. Fantastic acting from your cast. They were able to portray so much with absolutely no words. Keep up the great work!
Frank C. Posted 7 months ago
Great acting! You were able to capture many wonderful moments in 90 seconds. The music and editing were also stellar.
Rachel M. Posted 7 months ago
Well acted, the trailer showed the character's struggles with their long distance relationship. Good job evoking emotion from your audience with this one.
Ryan M. Posted 7 months ago
I lovethis video. So much story in a short time but still remained pretty clear. That boss seemed awful.
Jennifer R. Posted 7 months ago
The acting and editing are nicely done in this. I feel like you guys could just go out and shoot this whole movie with little money right? Strong actors, nice shots etc.
Dwayne M. Posted 7 months ago
I liked this a lot. I was impressed with how much you were able to show in 90 seconds. Your actress is great.
Cheri-Lyn W. Posted 7 months ago
I really loved that. Reminds me of my boyfriend never answering lol. I hope I get to see this in theaters soon.
Mandi B. Posted 7 months ago
Amazing job. A clear story with honest emotions. I love this. I can definitely relate to this story unfortunately.
George P. Posted 7 months ago
good sound, the brunette was attractive, liked the music too, left me wanting more....always a good sign
Ian F. Posted 7 months ago
I am really impressed by how much you managed to fit into this video. I think we have all had this kind of day (or NOT had a day, if that makes any sense) with missed connections and heightened emotions
Nancy R. Posted 7 months ago
The actress is very skilled at displaying emotion and was the best aspect. Really liked the contrast of attitude of the two main characters. The sound track really added to the dynamic of the piece.
Daisy F. Posted 7 months ago
i really like the main actress. this is a great representation of the day in the life of someone who's in a LDR. lots of quiet, lots of disappointment.
Matt C. Posted 7 months ago
Your actress is definitely very expressive without her being all MY EMOTIONS which is great. The whole missing calls/slightly spiteful hanging up thing was painfully familiar, too. Nicely done.
Jason L. Posted 7 months ago
Great storytelling! Really enjoyed your take on this one. Your actress is fantastic, really expressive - she spoke volumes with her face.
Nellemarie H. Posted 7 months ago
I followed along with the emotional ride of the main character - very well done.
Peter M. Posted 7 months ago
The more I watch things about this movie the more I fail in love with it. I am convinced that this project will find success in some form or another. I hope this team is proud!
Melissa H. Posted 7 months ago
This was really well done! Your team has done a great job of capturing the emotion and struggle of the main character.
Troy H. Posted 7 months ago
Love this just as much creativity and story as in the first trailer, you are an amazing team and I am sure this is the cream of the crop!!!!
Cam L. Posted 7 months ago
Great use of sound effects / sound-scapes in the city and the music really caputured the mood correctly. As usual your cinematography and acting is seriously on point!!
Suvi P. Posted 7 months ago
I really liked the music and how it captured the mood in this video. Sounds are a powerful tool in making the mood and well used in this one.
Tina V. Posted 7 months ago
this is by far the best mission in this competition the story comes through in this speechless clip and even without talking we can tell something about the relationship, love it, can't wait for it to be in theatres, awesome job!
Monique L. Posted 7 months ago
I'm really impressed by this mission. One of the best I've seen so far. Told a story clearly without words and made me care about what will happen to them. Kudos.
Fern L. Posted 7 months ago
It is great to see a motivated young female on screen. I really felt for her situation even with no dialogue. Loved the pace, editing, cinematography and design.
Michelle E. Posted 7 months ago
I felt like this stayed true to the spirit of the mission, essentially telling a short story without words, but I didn't feel very moved by it.
Aiden C. Posted 7 months ago
Enjoyed this sequence. A lot was said without a single word spoken. The lead female did a excellent job with her expressions.
Alan B. Posted 7 months ago
I love the scene. In the beginning, it shows that she is being distracted and still keeps thinking about the guy. I think she still has feelings for him, but at the same time, trying to forget about him. I'm not sure if I'm right, but I think it's something like that.
Misha G. Posted 7 months ago
For the amount of communication in this scene, the lack of dialogue was handled really well. The music seems a little too tentative, though, and the pace is a little too quick.
Lee H. Posted 7 months ago
Well filmed, good use of no dialogue, but this was just really uninteresting, and I don't think I was able to relate or care enough about the characters to feel any emotion. I would have accentuated more street sounds to show her struggle more, would have made it more intense too!
Michelle G. Posted 7 months ago
I like that you did something original and not just snipits from your trailer. But I just wasn't wowed by this mission. I encourage you to go above and beyond to stand out.
Dean M. Posted 7 months ago
This is just so sappy and sad, it seems not a lot of your trailer has any feel good moments just a bunch of feel bad moments.
Lee H. Posted 7 months ago
Agreed.
Warren B. Posted 7 months ago
That ring shot! Tucked right into the red marker parts. Man! Really liked it. Moved pretty fast, but i guess that's what was asked for. Could have watched this sequence over a longer period of time though. Wonderful!
Patrick M. Posted 7 months ago
I love this little snippet, you really feel her emotions when her work is getting marked up in red, beautiful foley too!
Donald Y. Posted 7 months ago
It leaves me wanting to know what will happen next. I cannot imagine how it will end.
Iwona b. Posted 7 months ago
Good acting and editing. I like choice of the characters. The sound brings out emotions . Good performance.
Fraser C. Posted 7 months ago
Really liked the music! Great casting. Simple and awesome.
Aniko K. Posted 7 months ago
Your cast is excellent. Very good range of emotions brought out of a silent, speechless scene! Solid around around team!
Jeremy B. Posted 7 months ago
Hey, how 'bout you leave some awesome for the rest of us? This looks better every week. Even the subtle scenes are excellent. Good luck this week ladies. - RuRuRuby Starfish
Andrej K. Posted 7 months ago
praise cinematography. Superb natural acting.
Tamara S. Posted 7 months ago
Nice scene. Does a good job of portraying the emotions of the characters without giving anything away. Great production design as always. Lovely acting by the leading lady.
Clayton P. Posted 7 months ago
Absolutely loved it! The acting sells this so well! I thought the evaluation of her plans part was great with the use of the red pen. As for what happens next? One of them must travel the distance between the two to meet in person and set things right.
Nikki W. Posted 7 months ago
Very clear story without words, you nailed it! I disagree with the drag on comment, I enjoy seeing characters reactions and major events sinking in. Good work!
Leta P. Posted 7 months ago
Love how your sound and pictures flow together. Its so true how music can paint a picture without adding any words
Emma S. Posted 7 months ago
Thank you Leta, glad you dig our flow. We were very lucky to have an award winning composer jump on board for this mission, he really helped make our cut stronger. Cheers, Team Long Distance
Matthew J. Posted 7 months ago
Liked the music, set the whole tone of the movie I found. Some parts of it seemed to drag out. But well done.
Kevin P. Posted 7 months ago
Very emotional. Great sound. Love it!
Gertray D. Posted 7 months ago
Okay, brilliant choice. A every picture tells a story and you are telling one with great acting, locations and sound. This is a top 40. Good job!
Milan J. Posted 7 months ago
Loved the underscore, shot well, some creative camera shots, am curious what will happen with this couple
Andrew M. Posted 7 months ago
I feel like I got the story right away. But then it dragged. Filmmakers on this one could've trusted their audience and their storytelling abilities more. Could have been shorter.
Margaret S. Posted 7 months ago
This must have been a particularly challenging challenge for this type of movie, but it was definitely well-executed. After watching the trailer and this, I am seeing the themes of technology and disconnect emerge. I really like the use of the red marker to illustrate criticism of the female lead. It really shone through that it was a negative experience and I liked how the actress played with her ring to demonstrate her anxiety.
Dana B. Posted 7 months ago
Very good performances. I think they sold this mission video for sure. I hate to sound like a broken record, but this scene is straight out of 'Like Crazy'- the bar, the back and forth phone calls. I know it's been brought up a lot, but I think it is a valuable thing that it has. Having the criticism out there (and in a positive context, mind you) hopefully will help it to be easier to avoid in the future.
Sean C. Posted 7 months ago
Really good job guys. I enjoyed what you have done with this and look forward to seeing you in the top 40!
Brianne N. Posted 7 months ago
I am a wee bit confused what happend at the end but I think Ryan G (in my mind it's Ryan Gosling) cleared it up! Good music!
Ryan G. Posted 7 months ago
I think the performances speak volumes without words. My issue is her dismissing his call back feels like she knew he ignored it the first time, as opposed to him just missing the call and her being eager to hear his voice, which she reached for in the first place
Kathy A. Posted 7 months ago
This is my favourite mission video! Great acting, great locations, and great sound design! You guys nailed this mission in my opinion!
Rose L. Posted 7 months ago
Thanks! It was a difficult challenge but we're really happy with it.
Daniel F. Posted 7 months ago
Very intriguing! The acting was great in this, and I felt like the lack of dialogue really helped to convey the emotions and develop the story. Awesome work!
Allen Y. Posted 7 months ago
I can't imagine having someone do that to my work. I really felt for her. That lady was cold. But I guess it's all about who's there for you when you're down.
Frances L. Posted 7 months ago
The red sharpie!! Oh, I can feel the pain - great way to convey the message. I'm enjoying continuously getting more glimpses into your story and looking forward to more. :) Team #RedHorizon
Michael B. Posted 7 months ago
Very powerful. I like this film a lot I think it can go far, but it could be so much more. Good acting and good all around.
Rose L. Posted 7 months ago
Thanks Michael!
Kaitlyn M. Posted 7 months ago
You've got a great, powerful sense of story happening in this scene here.
I do think the lack of dialogue at some points hindered it, though - there were moments where it felt unnatural that nobody was speaking, that might have been fixed with different timing/scoring choices. Besides those few moments, I think you guys nailed it though. Well done!
Katelyn J. Posted 7 months ago
Is this film already made? Looks like it could be interesting though - some good shots too. Good luck!
Matt D. Posted 7 months ago
I really loved this. Such clear storytelling in 90 seconds. The acting, cinematography and design were also spot on. Amazing work.
Eric R. Posted 7 months ago
Nice scene. Really felt the emotions you were getting across without the speaking. Looks like you are well on your way already.
Rose L. Posted 7 months ago
Thank you so much. I'm glad the scene resonated with you.
Debbie P. Posted 7 months ago
The speechless trailer gives a good sense of plot but it moves pretty slowly. There is good effect when the woman is getting her work critiqued, but then it is less anticipation after that piece.
Ryan B. Posted 7 months ago
in a way aren't we all architects of our future, met with he squiggly sound of red marker across our lives? this was touching!
Rose L. Posted 7 months ago
Haha. Indeed we are. So glad you liked it.
Jexx M. Posted 7 months ago
I thought this was a fantastic scene - really gave you a glimpse into what to expect from these lovely ladies and the cast!
Emma S. Posted 7 months ago
Thank you Jexx! Thanks for your vote of faith in our trio and cast. We appreciate it! Cheers, Team Long Distance
John K. Posted 7 months ago
Nice sequence. Well acted and shot. There seems to be great chemistry between the actors. Looking forward to seeing more from team long distance
Emma S. Posted 7 months ago
Thank you so much John. That's a ton of compliments in one comment. Excited to keep on creating and sharing. Cheers, Team Long Distance
Bernice G. Posted 7 months ago
Beautiful lead actress, incredible acting, the relationships between the characters are interesting. Great job.
Emma S. Posted 7 months ago
Thank you so much Bernice! Cheers, Team Long Distance
Jody M. Posted 7 months ago
Powerful. Great clip. Thanks for sharing, and good luck!
Emma S. Posted 7 months ago
Thank you Jody! Cheers, Team Long Distance
Nev T. Posted 7 months ago
Seems from this that you've got everything quite figured out and under control. great job as always long distance!
Emma S. Posted 7 months ago
Thanks Nev! What a relief that all of the scrambling to create this mission came together with the illusion of control. Thanks for following along on our missions. Cheers, Team Long Distance
Ally P. Posted 7 months ago
Your lead actress is beautiful and one of those actors who has an undeniable presence on screen. She's definitely the highlight of this Mission.
Emma S. Posted 7 months ago
Thanks Ally, we feel pretty lucky to have her! Cheers, Team Long Distance
Sara B. Posted 7 months ago
We could not have done this without the amazing support of our cast and crew. Team Long Distance is very lucky!
Giovanna G. Posted 7 months ago
Looking forward to seeing this film. The relationships between the characters are clear and intriguing. Looks great!
Emma S. Posted 7 months ago
Thanks Giovanna, we can't wait to make this film! Cheers, Team Long Distance
Holly F. Posted 7 months ago
and will those parallel lives ever coincide--really? good job giving a sense of disparity, of struggle. the music is fitting, I think
Emma S. Posted 7 months ago
Thank you Holly! All will be revealed when we get the chance to make the feature. So glad all of those themes came across in 90 seconds. We're happy that you enjoyed the music, we were lucky to have an award winning composer jump in to create something for this mission! Cheers, Team Long Distance
Timothy C. Posted 7 months ago
You've got some amazing cinematography, of course, and really incredible acting. As much as I want to connect with this scene though, it's tough to really feel it when we still don't know a whole lot about these characters. But looks great - best of luck!
Emma S. Posted 7 months ago
Thanks for your comment Timothy, we are really hoping to get this film made to give you a chance to see our characters and provide the context for this piece (plus have the room to make it longer). Thanks for your feedback. Cheers, Team Long Distance
Frederick D. Posted 7 months ago
For those having experienced that kind of long distance relationship, you can really feel the pain to have to keep to yourself what you would really need to ventilate to your loved one...
Emma S. Posted 7 months ago
Thank you for sharing Frederick. Our whole team has had a long distance relationship at one time or another. We are so glad that our film speaks to others with similar experiences. Cheers, Team Long Distance
Roxanne M. Posted 7 months ago
Loved this. You were able to get the emotions across clearly and somehow managed to make me want to see this get made even more!
Emma S. Posted 7 months ago
Thank you Roxanne, we hope that we can win this contest and get this film made for you to see! Cheers, Team Long Distance
Jac r. Posted 7 months ago
I'm wondering what that building she tried to design would look like…I hope we get to see it even though she got fired/not hired!
Emma S. Posted 7 months ago
Hey Jac, glad to see we piqued your interest! She was at an interview for an art department job in film, and her set designs were being ripped apart. We are excited to show her work life on set. Cheers, Team Long Distance
Dawn B. Posted 7 months ago
Difficult times...greatly expressed with this cinematography. Makes me want to know more. Way to make the connection from the screen to us.
Emma S. Posted 7 months ago
Thank you Dawn, We hope that this contest ends in us being able to share the whole story with you! Cheers, Team Long Distance
Karen H. Posted 7 months ago
Great job - the emotions are super clear, my mind just filled in the inner monologue as the music played :)
Emma S. Posted 7 months ago
Thank you Karen! We are so glad that the music added to your experience. We were very lucky to have an award winning composer help us out with this mission. Cheers, Team Long Distance

Emma S. Posted 7 months ago
Hey Danielle, thank you for your comment. Glad to hear you like our cinematography. We are creating this film with the goal of bringing honest moments, real stories, and well-rounded characters to romantic dramas. We are focusing on a Long Distance relationship, which really only appears in 3 mainstream feature films in the last decade (that we can count). We have the advantage of having an all-female team. This team inherently creates a unique approach to this genre as the majority of films are written and/or directed by men. With the rest of the film as context the fullness of each characters life (their careers, family, friends, commitments and how these create more challenges to their relationship) will come across. The other major piece of this project is our love affair with the beauty of Canada`s cities. We can’t wait to showcase a Canada that is more than hockey, beavers and lumberjacks. Hope that helps, Cheers, Team Long Distance.
Carolyn K. Posted 7 months ago
Love the tension you created and the feeling of stress - the disappointment of reaching out for the one person who can comfort you. The music was a great enhancement.
Emma S. Posted 7 months ago
Hey Carolyn, thanks for letting us know those feelings came across. We were very lucky to have an award winning composer jump onto our team for this mission. His music added a lot. Cheers, Team Long Distance
Brad M. Posted 7 months ago
Absolutely amazing guys! Great work!
Emma S. Posted 7 months ago
Thanks Brad! - Team Long Distance
Jeff R. Posted 7 months ago
Awesomely shot and edited! Loved all the different locations, I think it got a lot across. Dundas and McCaul represent! #TeamMemoria
Emma S. Posted 7 months ago
Thanks Jeff! We are really trying to highlight the cities we love! Thanks for the love, right back at you! Cheers, Team Long Distance
Lorette P. Posted 7 months ago
You can see that a long distance relationship is very difficult. Each tries to call the other and wonder what are they doing when they don't answer.
Emma S. Posted 7 months ago
Thanks for the comment Lorette! We are excited to portray the challenges of long distance love as well as the difficulty of trying to find work/life balance. Cheers, Team Long Distance
Dave R. Posted 7 months ago
A perfect example of how even while in a relationship, when it is long distance you can still feel totally alone. Glenda's portrayal of that frustration was excellent!
Emma S. Posted 7 months ago
Thank you Dave! We think Glenda does a stellar job as our leading lady. Cheers, Team Long Distance
Susan C. Posted 7 months ago
Good job of showing how people misinterpret each others reactions or lack thereof and misplace blame.
Emma S. Posted 7 months ago
Thank you Susan, what a lovely comment. Cheers, Team Long Distance
Jennifer C. Posted 7 months ago
Classic story -- woman needs her man but he's not available. You can feel the emotions of it with just the music, words aren't necessary. Nicely done
Emma S. Posted 7 months ago
Thanks Jennifer! Being in a long distance relationship makes communication so much harder. When both of you are trying to focus on your career it's extra hard to find that work/life balance. We are so happy with our music and very lucky to have an award winning composer jump in and create this for us. Cheers, Team Long Distance.
Lynne M. Posted 7 months ago
I enjoyed this it says do much without anything bring said, when she needs him he's out at the pub with his mates. Well done
Emma S. Posted 7 months ago
Thanks Lynne, so glad our story came across! Cheers, Team Long Distance
Lindsey M. Posted 7 months ago
The montage worked well, but the end seemed awkward without dialogue (b/w the two women). And though a clear conflict is established here, I'm still not sure it's dramatic enough for me to be pulled into the story. I feel there needs to be more vulnerability, if that makes sense.
Emma S. Posted 7 months ago
Thank you for your comment Lindsey. It was challenging to leave in all the beats we wanted and let the shots marinate in the 90 seconds we were allowed. We imagine that within the context provided by the full film this would become more dramatic (this portion would also be longer). The stakes for the lead are heightened when we are able to show that she is having trouble making ends meet. She is living in her sisters basement (the blonde in the last scene), and their relationship/style of communication will be clearer in the film. This sure was a tough challenge and we really appreciate your feedback! Cheers, Team Long Distance
Sharon L. Posted 7 months ago
nice very nice, excellent job of conveying the pain and difficulties that go with a long distance relationship and how it begins with small things to deteriorate
Emma S. Posted 7 months ago
Thanks Sharon! Long Distance relationships require a different type of effort to make it work. Not being able to have that face to face communication really wears thin quickly. Cheers Team Long Distance
Mary R. Posted 7 months ago
You do a terrific job of conveying the pain she is feeling and the struggles for this relationship. Well done.
Emma S. Posted 7 months ago
Thank you so much Mary! Cheers, Team Long Distance
Ginette M. Posted 7 months ago
Really effective storytelling. I love each video each week even more than the last. The acting was great too.
Emma S. Posted 7 months ago
Thanks Ginette, we will try to keep up with the content to keep that love coming! Cheers, Team Long Distance
Ginette M. Posted 7 months ago
I hope you guys do. I want to take my husband to this for Valentine's Day!
Matt P. Posted 7 months ago
really felt the emotion of this. and showcased the strain of a long distance relationship. of needing someone and them not being there. nicely done - team Post-Apocalyptica
Emma S. Posted 7 months ago
Thank you Matt, we really appreciate your feedback! I really enjoyed the scope of your mission, well done. Cheers, Team Long Distance

I like the trailer. But i'm wondering what was at stake in the interview. She's well dressed and beautiful and has friemds woth money and great jobs. So....why do we care if she doesn't get the job?
Emma S. Posted 7 months ago
Hello Charles, We're so glad you enjoyed our trailer. I am a little confused by your comment here. Having a devastating job interview (and being without employment) is fine as long as you are pretty, and appear to have nice clothes? Having friends with jobs means you need one less (being a photographer is not an easy job, and generally not very lucrative)? She was dressed nicely because she was on the way to a job interview. I can say with some authority that her shirt and blazer are not that nice… they are mine, all I could afford for office work from H&M. It’s important to put your best foot forward when trying to get a job in your preferred field, as you know you can’t rely on your friends to pay your way in life. The male character, Jay, was also out at a business meeting so that explains his nice clothes, and the blonde photographer was dressed nicely because she was at work (her sweater was from Joe fresh, a grocery store clothing line, her scarf from a dollar store).
Hope that clears everything up, Team Long Distance
Annie C. Posted 7 months ago
FABULOUSLY SHOT! i love the sneak peak we're getting with this mission. gimme morrrrre.
Emma S. Posted 7 months ago
Thank you Annie! We hope that by the end of this contest we can give you the whole thing! Cheers, Team Long Distance
Julie H. Posted 7 months ago
I kind of like the touch of having her photographer friend working with a couple that's expecting a baby. Subtle, but I definitely noticed.
Emma S. Posted 7 months ago
Good eye Julie! Cheers, Team Long Distance
Matthew S. Posted 7 months ago
This looks very professional. Great camera angles, the conflicts between the characters are awesome, really looking forward to how this project turns out.
Emma S. Posted 7 months ago
Thank you Matthew! We are so thankful our DOP is so creative and works well with our director and actors. His background and passion is documentary film making and he has a gift for making stationary moments feel kinetic. Cheers, Team Long Distance
Alannah J. Posted 7 months ago
Great acting but the sound editing could have been better, so important for a dialogue- free challenge.
Emma S. Posted 7 months ago
Hi Alannah, thank you for your comment. We are always impressed with our actors, they churn out great work week after week. This is our first negative comment about our sound editing. Putting together a final cut, and then sending calls and emails back and forth to our sound editor when we were down to the last couple days was no small task. We were very happy with our sound. Was there anything in particular that we should keep an ear out for next time? We really appreciate your feedback. Cheers, Team Long Distance
Annelise L. Posted 7 months ago
Very well done, and shows the power of subtle but effective acting. This could build to an explosive verbal confrontation between the two characters.
Emma S. Posted 7 months ago
Thank you Annelise! We are very happy with our actors and how they help bring our vision to life every week. Could you imagine having that verbal confrontation on skype with a slow internet connection, I would lose my mind. Cheers, Team Long Distance
Gregory H. Posted 7 months ago
Wow, amazing scene! Facial expressions and the written notes convey way more than I think dialogue would have. Music and sound editing was spot on. Great job!
Emma S. Posted 7 months ago
Thanks Gregory! We were so lucky to have an accomplished sound editor and an award winning composer jump on board for this mission. It really helped our team get our vision across. Cheer, Team Long Distance
Emily B. Posted 7 months ago
Very good at showing how upset she was during the whole scene starting with her being nervous about her job and then having her boyfriend not answer her call just wrapped everything up nicely!
Emma S. Posted 7 months ago
Thank you for your kind comment Emily! We are so glad it felt like a tight package. Cheers, Team Long Distance
Melissa D. Posted 7 months ago
Very good at conveying the emotions of your female protagonist. Her rejection at work and then when her boyfriend doesn't answer her calls...makes me feel as if its happening to me.
Emma S. Posted 7 months ago
Thanks Melissa, we are so glad that our mission resonated this way. That type of interview happened to our director and she worked very hard to recreate the feeling. Cheers, Team Long Distance
Tyler R. Posted 7 months ago
Well done, that said alot without saying anything. The emotions came through very strong and showed me that the film creators know how to evoke emotions in the audience. Great job on this mission
Emma S. Posted 7 months ago
Thanks Tyler! Glad you think we accomplished the Speechless Mission goals. High praise indeed. Cheers, Team Long Distance
Toby G. Posted 7 months ago
Great work, very well told, mature story telling. An excellent use of 90 seconds.
Emma S. Posted 7 months ago
Thank you Toby, story telling is what it's all about! Cheers, Team Long Distance
Brent C. Posted 7 months ago
Looks like you guys are well on your way to making your movie. Should be done by the end of this contest! #lakecop is #drownedout
Emma S. Posted 7 months ago
Thanks Brent, if only we could get to Vancouver, Montreal and LA every week to film the whole thing, but I guess that's why we are all here in this contest. Cheers, Team Long Distance
Paul D. Posted 7 months ago
Emotions come through very clearly; you rally feel her pain after the meeting. The lack of speech makes the emotions that much stronger.
Emma S. Posted 7 months ago
Thanks Paul! So happy that it was clear, and you thought it was strong. Cheers, Team Long Distance
Matt S. Posted 7 months ago
After the call she gets a text from him - all emoticons - asking what's up. However, he doesn't admit that he's out at a pub, starting a web of white lies that will push the distance between them even more.
Emma S. Posted 7 months ago
Oooo Matt, I like this idea a lot! Misunderstanding is magnified in a long distance relationship. Cheers, Team Long Distance
Matt S. Posted 7 months ago
I got engaged to my my wife, while STARTING a long distance relationship from Toronto to NEW ZEALAND! I have much to draw on from many mistakes :)
Steven H. Posted 7 months ago
Nothing bites more than a red pen on paper. As a writer, I know that sting far too well. On top of that, there is nothing more heart breaking than wanting someone and them not being there...
Emma S. Posted 7 months ago
Thanks Stephen, one of our first visions for this challenge was that red pen, and the awful sound it makes while someone tears apart your work. So glad it resonated with you (also, sorry for your red pen attacks, we know your pain). Cheers, Team Long Distance
Steven H. Posted 6 months ago
Thanks. I'm going to red pen your comment and give you a heads up... my name is spelled with a "VE" not a "PH". Best of luck with the film!
Patrick S. Posted 7 months ago
Well done. You get a sense of what their relationship means to them.
Emma S. Posted 7 months ago
Thanks Patrick! - Team Long Distance
Judy S. Posted 7 months ago
Nicely done. I really want to see this movie!
Emma S. Posted 7 months ago
Thanks Judy, we really want you to see it too ;) Cheers, Team Long Distance
Joan M. Posted 7 months ago
Rejection is so hard. This video got that across without any words and showed the difficulty of long distance relationships at the same time.
Emma S. Posted 7 months ago
Thanks for the comment Joan. We feel like the hardest part of a Long Distance relationship isn't always the distance, but it's trying to create that work/life balance which feels impossible (for me anyway). Cheers, Team Long Distance
Karen T. Posted 7 months ago
This was incredibly well done and effective. The scene really makes you feel for her and to do that without words being spoken is fantastic.
Emma S. Posted 7 months ago
Thanks Karen, so glad our vision came across without using words. Cheers, Team Long Distance
Joelle W. Posted 7 months ago
Awww, this said a lot. I could totally relate even without any words. I feel so bad for her! Great casting, the talent did a great job (and - of course - the music, sound and edits all really add a ton to it too!)
Emma S. Posted 7 months ago
Thanks Joelle! We are beaming proud of our cast, they seem to do justice to our vision week after week. We were lucky to have a very accomplished sound editor and award winning composer jump on board for this project. Our DOP does all of our editing and he is a total champ. So glad we made it relatable. Thanks for your kind words. Cheers, Team Long Distance
Chris C. Posted 7 months ago
Brilliantly done! Not a single uttered word and I felt crushed myself. If you guys can elicit this kind of emotion in 90 seconds, I can't wait to see the final product. Keep up the amazing work.
Emma S. Posted 7 months ago
Thanks Chris! I'm glad we were able to get across that crushing feeling of a bad interview. Thanks for letting us know you thought it came across. Cheers, Team Long Distance!
Stephanie K. Posted 7 months ago
Interesting! Showing a lot more of the character and plot outside of the love story. I'm intrigued :)
Emma S. Posted 7 months ago
So glad you liked it Stephanie! We can't wait to share the whole story!
Kelly G. Posted 7 months ago
Wow. Another round slammed right outta the park, way to go guys. You do incredible work, and the fact people think you've already filmed the feature speaks volumes about how hard you grind for each week, and the level of talent everyone on your team possesses. Keep it up!
Emma S. Posted 7 months ago
Thanks Kelly! We appreciate your support. We are strangely proud that some fans are accusing us of having filmed the entire movie already. It makes all of the 40 phone calls to copy shops, the booking of spaces on favors, and quick stolen street shots in the cold worth it!
Keith H. Posted 7 months ago
One of your best missions, guys. Loved the quick cuts and loved how your colour correction reflected both of them being in different ends of Toronto. Evoked some great emotion here! (Team Van Gore)
And stop using our space (kidding)
Emma S. Posted 7 months ago
Thanks Keith, It's clear that you have been to the Spoke Club before! (Trying to cheat another city in a week and running on favours is a tough job). I really liked your mission this week as well! Even if you guys sullied our films "photography studio" with your S and M gore! Cheers, Team Long Distance
Keith H. Posted 7 months ago
I also just realized that I had a massive typo! I meant different ends of Canada. I'm laughing now as my previous comment looks like a perfectly orchestrated, verbal jab at the ribs!
Hilda H. Posted 7 months ago
I feel her pain, everyone hates rejection and she gets lot of it but are these new scenes or shots that you have or leftover cuts from before? Looks strangely edited
Rose L. Posted 7 months ago
This was all new. We shot it last week and finished it on Sunday. We had a lot to fit into 90 seconds and this sequence will run longer in the final film.
Brenda J. Posted 7 months ago
Glad to see Emma in this cut. I can hardly wait to see the final full length production! It is going to be stellar!
Rose L. Posted 7 months ago
Thanks Brenda! I can't wait to do more scenes with Emma.
Sami L. Posted 7 months ago
Loved the cutting, I can't wait to see this! And a lovely surprise to see the lovely Emma in that last bit! Great job everyone - have my fingers crossed for you!
Rose L. Posted 7 months ago
Thanks so much! I was so happy to have Emma in the scene. She plays Sarah's sister in the film. :)
Bobbi F. Posted 7 months ago
I'm intrigued by this one. The level of connect vs disconnect in our world of technology is interesting, so I'd watch this one to see how these two try to make it work.
Rose L. Posted 7 months ago
Thanks so much. You really hit the nail on the head here. This is something we are paying close attention to in our film.
Benjamin O. Posted 7 months ago
I can see where you were trying going with this. It just seemed to me like the scene was cut, or changed whenever someone was about to talk.
Rose L. Posted 7 months ago
I appreciate your comment. I'm sorry you felt that way.
Simon H. Posted 7 months ago
Lookin`good. Does not really help me understand the story though.
Rose L. Posted 7 months ago
Thanks for your comment!
Andre W. Posted 7 months ago
I love how you cut it. It really feels like a montage in a feature.
Rose L. Posted 7 months ago
Thanks Andre!
Em K. Posted 7 months ago
So is your movie already shot? Looks like it to me. Can't the couple use Skype to get it on? Or, like, one of them move?
Rose L. Posted 7 months ago
Thanks for the comment. The movie is most definitely not shot yet. We shot this last week. As for the other questions you'll see when you watch the film why those are not options.
Steven H. Posted 7 months ago
Looks really good, and flows quite well. You guys have great talent and hope that you're able to take it far!
Rose L. Posted 7 months ago
Thanks very much Steven! We really appreciate that.
Helen C. Posted 7 months ago
Great work guys. I could totally get what the character was feeling throughout the whole clip. Excited to see what comes next!
Rose L. Posted 7 months ago
Thanks Helen. Glad you liked it.
Gemma T. Posted 7 months ago
Was really good acting could totally understand and empathise with the characters feeling well done :)
Rose L. Posted 7 months ago
Thanks Gemma! I'm glad you like it.
Thomas A. Posted 7 months ago
It seems like a mundane everyday situation with miscomunication. Its like watching a turbulent evening with my girlfriend. There haven't really been any compelling character developement scenes yet. I feel like I'm watching upper middle class people with boring upper middle class drama? I'm sorry:( Just trying to be honest. It is really well shot and great locations.
Rose L. Posted 7 months ago
Thanks for your comment. I actually think everyday situations are fascinating. A turbulent evening between you and your girlfriend is probably much more interesting than you think it is when looked at from an outside perspective. I appreciate your honesty. The only thing I will clear up is that these people are not upper middle class. Just like in life appearances can be deceiving and she very much needed that job.
Kendra W. Posted 7 months ago
great sets, good use of music, and nice work blending the shots together. It really showed a true difficulty of long distance, and how not being involved in each others lives can create obstacles to being there for each other.
Rose L. Posted 7 months ago
Thanks Kendra! Long distance relationships are much harder than many think and I'm happy that came across for you.
Pete M. Posted 7 months ago
Loved all of the acting. Really sensed how she was feeling and how important the meeting was. I can't wait to see more from you guys.
Rose L. Posted 7 months ago
Thanks Pete!
Pete M. Posted 7 months ago
You're welcome. Cheers
Yamini C. Posted 7 months ago
The acting really carried this segment through to its an emotional point.
Rose L. Posted 7 months ago
Thanks! We're so thankful to have found our lead actress, Glenda. She's amazing.
Gianna I. Posted 7 months ago
Well done! Enjoyed the awkwardness of this week's mission, really plays on the heart strings too. (Team Rosalind Revenge)
Rose L. Posted 7 months ago
Thanks Gianna! I loved your mission this week too.
Gianna I. Posted 7 months ago
Thanks Rose! Much appreciated! :)
Dana B. Posted 7 months ago
A nice use of space in your editing to allow your actors the time to convey emotions. Nicely done.
Rose L. Posted 7 months ago
Thanks Dana!
Katie T. Posted 7 months ago
Nice simple moment in a relationship when lives a far apart. Drew me in. Well done.
Rose L. Posted 7 months ago
Thank you so much Katie!
Afzal H. Posted 7 months ago
Great storytelling!!! And your actress did an AMAZING job! I love how you guys used lighting, especially to emphasize the emotions in her eyes. Well done! Bravo!
Rose L. Posted 7 months ago
Thanks Afzal. We're so glad you liked it!
Kellie M. Posted 7 months ago
It was very well done. I screamed ANSWER THE PHONE DAMMIT!!! At both of them, is that wrong? Loved it, great job again team! :)
Rose L. Posted 7 months ago
Not wrong at all. I'm glad you were into it!
Michael L. Posted 7 months ago
This Speechless mission is good at sticking to the continuity of the story. It's also greatly demonstrates the best use of a red marker - SCREECHING on the paper!
Rose L. Posted 7 months ago
Thanks Michael. There's nothing more painful than someone writing all over your work.
Maureen M. Posted 7 months ago
This was really well done! I didn't like the trailer but this is good. I feel for her and their long distance romance, clearly hard to 'be there' at the right time! Very good.
Rose L. Posted 7 months ago
Thanks so much Maureen! I'm glad you liked it this time around.
Andy S. Posted 7 months ago
Amazing talent!
Rose L. Posted 7 months ago
Thanks Andy!
Cooper B. Posted 7 months ago
Yum! Another tasty treat. Don't bother watching ours this week! -Team Ruby
Rose L. Posted 7 months ago
Uh oh.. now I have to look. :)
Rose L. Posted 7 months ago
Just watched. Loved it. I love that you guys have a sense of humour about all of this. It is much appreciated. We need the levity.
Julia Y. Posted 7 months ago
There's so much that is said about the characters even in one clip, and a speechless one at that! Maybe could have used more music, it felt a bit sparse at times.
Rose L. Posted 7 months ago
Thanks Julia! We appreciate the feedback.
Allan W. Posted 7 months ago
Soooo good! Well done - woot!! #i90Army
Rose L. Posted 7 months ago
Thanks Allan for all of your support. We love you guys and wish you the best on all the missions and the competition.
Tyler S. Posted 7 months ago
The number of scenes and characters really says something about this mission. They must have already finished about half the film. How else would they be able to shoot in 8 locations with 11 separate actors in just over a week? It doesn't make sense, to me this film doesn't need the million dollars and all the really want is distribution.
Sara B. Posted 7 months ago
Hey Tyler, totally appreciate that; it's actually a very big compliment! We definitely haven't finished the film yet. We've been working really hard at the missions as we get them. We have a very talented team on board and we consider ourselves so grateful that they have dedicated their time to us for this competition. Without them it would not be possible!
Jake C. Posted 7 months ago
Dude, we literally shot all this in a day in a half after a week and a half of planning and a lot of favours. I wish we just needed distro, we're all starvinggg. Stoked that it looks that way though!
Rose L. Posted 7 months ago
Thank you for the compliment. We shot our trailer in 2 days, a week before the Cinecoup deadline. Our trailer had 15 locations and it nearly killed us. We shot this in 1 1/2 days this past Tuesday and Wednesday. Again- it nearly killed us. We just finished our edit last night at 10:30pm as we all missed Easter with our families. Would we do that if we didn't have to? We couldn't do this without the support of our friends, families, local business' and colleagues but there is no way we can shoot this in its entirety without the money. We require shooting in Montreal, Vancouver and some stolen shots in L.A. That can not and will not happen without money. Make no mistake, this competition is hard and we would not be doing it if we didn't need to do it.
Paul T. Posted 7 months ago
Wow. Thanks for the detailed response Rose. Your teaser and missions have been very impressive, and I can say, like you, it is very hard to pull off this sweeping scale in a couple of days, but it can be done. Talk about "cheap tricks"! You guys (and other teams too) are pulling off movie miracles here every week on Cinecoup, so good people don't even believe it. Good Job! -- Paul (Team Starkers)
courtney n. Posted 7 months ago
I just wanted to go up to my boyfriend and hug him and tell him that I will never ignore his calls. The scene was incredibly heartfelt and I enjoyed it immensly. It was beautiful, and I agree with Natalia 110%
Rose L. Posted 7 months ago
Aww! You should definitely go hug your boyfriend. There are so many people out there who don't get the opportunity often enough. So glad you liked it.
Natalia N. Posted 7 months ago
Ah this scene almost broke my heart. So good and so relatable. I could picture myself in such a similar scenario. Thumbs up ladies! your actress did a phenomenal job
Rose L. Posted 7 months ago
Thanks so much Natalia! We love her too.
Victoria L. Posted 7 months ago
I really enjoyed this brief insight into who Sarah is. There is definitely a lot of raw emotion at play; it certainly adds to the depth of her character. Loved it!
Rose L. Posted 7 months ago
Thanks Victoria. We're so glad you picked up on that. Thank you so much for watching :)
Cathy S. Posted 7 months ago
Everyone has had a frustrating interview like that at one time or another, no words were needed to convey the feelings!
Rose L. Posted 7 months ago
Thanks. This was loosely based on an interview I've had that left me in tears. In the end this type of thing makes you stronger. Glad you liked it!
Ian C. Posted 7 months ago
Visually it looks like real life but nicer.
Rose L. Posted 7 months ago
Thank you. I take particular care in choosing my locations and dressing them when necessary.
Cathy S. Posted 7 months ago
Loved it, your lead is just an amazing actor!
Rose L. Posted 7 months ago
Agreed. We think she's amazing too. We have no doubt she can carry this film. We're glad you liked it.
Jason M. Posted 7 months ago
I like the insight on the lead character gives her more heart at a time when it looks like her heart is braking
Rose L. Posted 7 months ago
Thanks so much. I've went through an interview experience similar to this and it was pretty crushing.
Judy Z. Posted 7 months ago
So curious to know more about what was going on there.
Rose L. Posted 7 months ago
Unfortunately you'll have to wait for the film to be released. Thanks so much for watching!
Lisa L. Posted 7 months ago
A lovely look inside the film, definitely gives more detail about the character and story, makes me want to see even more.

Thanks so much. This one was quite a challenge for us. We're glad you liked it.
