Wow. I'm really interested in this film even more now that I've seen this mission video. How does this story fit in with this film.
Richard Z. Posted 5 months ago
camera effects could be improved by slowing the the pan. Water rising with the tide and shores references points good effect
Ann G. Posted 5 months ago
Deep boys...deep. Lake Cop seems like a very simple movie on the surface, but after seeing this mission it obviously has more to it.
Peggy S. Posted 5 months ago
Creepy, ominous. Everything you want in a prologue. Still don't know completely what's gong on in the story but I love that Lake Cop's on the case
Marly V. Posted 5 months ago
Great cinematography.
Michel P. Posted 6 months ago
Well, it's pretty. But I am not sure it is saying anything about either the character or the plot...
Christy M. Posted 6 months ago
Gorgeous scenery! Really liked your mission video. Captured my attention throughout. I look forward to seeing more!
LIs D. Posted 6 months ago
Really enjoyed your speechless clip. No need for words to tell this story. Well done and good luck with this.
Anita N. Posted 6 months ago
I think you guys did the best you could in light of the mission's guidelines. I find a comedy is hard to convey speechlessly in the first place
John B. Posted 6 months ago
there are some really nice shots & I like the music, but i think there would be much to gain by having quicker cuts
Paul J. Posted 6 months ago
I agree this film is rather light but I don't know if this is deserving of the million. It's pretty fun though
Simon P. Posted 6 months ago
really nice to see a movie trying to bring some light relief to all these dark and intense films going on
Ingrid S. Posted 6 months ago
This is a different speechless, but it is a speechless..some great shots..like the locations a lot. All the best to you guys!
Crystal D. Posted 6 months ago
Had a mystic tone to it but no story or flow. It felt very choppy and listless and wondering on your plot
Madelyn R. Posted 6 months ago
I'm still not sure what to think of this movie however your site entertains me regardless. Good luck!
Becca R. Posted 6 months ago
the lake cop !! looks great would love to see the movie but of luck in the future with you movie !!!!
Bob J. Posted 6 months ago
LoL you had a Nevermind album shot, and of course the Michael Bay bad boys camera 360 pan. Don't know if that was necessary. Good stuff though.
Sarah W. Posted 6 months ago
This is super funny, just like the trailer! Haha I'm not banking on this project to win, but it's probably the most funny/entertaining on this site!
Claudette B. Posted 6 months ago
I like the scenery , the black and white shots and the music. Not loving the scene however but I think I see where u r going
Jeremy L. Posted 7 months ago
Well shot. Love how the music brings the drama to the story. Gets the mind anticipating something from the first note
Brandon G. Posted 7 months ago
I'm not really sure whats happening in this but I still really like it. It's shot well. Was expecting something funny to happen.
Ann B. Posted 7 months ago
nice visuals - especially loved those opening shots - all very compelling but I think I missed something
marie d. Posted 7 months ago
well I didn't quite understand what the point was or where it was going, it looked good and had a mystic something
Andrew L. Posted 7 months ago
Hey Lake Cop Crew...liking what your doing and where your going with it...want to see the Bad guy though! Next Mission perhaps.
Emily M. Posted 7 months ago
I like the concepts, the acting and the cinematography. The only part that confused me is the beach which appears to be an ocean beach, not a lake. I'm intrigued!
Trish M. Posted 7 months ago
Music & effects were okay but it didn't score for getting any concept across. I was left confused and a bit dizzy!
Geoffrey S. Posted 7 months ago
i'm definitely dizzy now but equally confused. I really liked the trailer, found it funny but I didn't get this mission
Knighten R. Posted 7 months ago
YES. Prologue. Finally his origins story FINALLY. What a man. Come to save us all. Lake COP! wooooooo
Tyrath B. Posted 7 months ago
though confused and not at all sure where you were trying to take us with this, it was beautifully shot
jack k. Posted 7 months ago
Some ceative ideas and concepts here. Looking forward to seeing where this goes as the contest goes on.
Edward Y. Posted 7 months ago
I love the visuals and the concept is really funny. A great scene with no dialogue. I look forward to more of your mission videos.
Thomas P. Posted 7 months ago
Very weird and intriguing! I love the opening shot though and it makes me very curious about this guy.
Alice B. Posted 7 months ago
I'm not very sure what you're trying to convey here, but I am intrigued. Hope some of the questions get answered in the later videos. Good luck!
Mila L. Posted 7 months ago
The music is kind of catchy, but the rest of it is pretty confusing. Is this like a sum up of different episodes that he is going through in his mind?
Natalia N. Posted 7 months ago
I agree and also have the same question
Danica M. Posted 7 months ago
I get that he is looking for something desperately but what or how doesn't make much sense to me. Hopefully we'll get some more answers soon!
Kylie P. Posted 7 months ago
I didn't really get it. The sequence just jumps from one thing to the other without making any real point. Too sketchy for me.
Arianna F. Posted 7 months ago
This one is slightly vague. I guess I agree with this seeming like a dream sequence. Doesn't seem to fit in any other way lol!
Tawni B. Posted 7 months ago
Was that all happening while he was meditating? If not then that whole thing confused me. I like the first part where it looked like the water was coming in to wake him up.
Frank C. Posted 7 months ago
In a world left with no water...what would Lake Cop do? Would he just be "Cop"? This must be his nightmare. Am I close? Always fun watching your missions
Rachel M. Posted 7 months ago
I think this trailer is about how lake cop came to become lake cop. A really fun idea, and the sound design was well done. I was a little confused with some of the jumps from one scene to the next, but overall nicely done!
patricia s. Posted 7 months ago
I am confused, not sure what is happening here
Geoff W. Posted 7 months ago
I'm sorry but... what was that all about? I like the shots individually but together I just don't get it. Also, I'm getting kind of tired of the flat colour correction of the vast majority of these films. Why would I watch something that is specially made to look ultra-dull?
Aaron M. Posted 7 months ago
For a title and concept that's quite humourous this felt pretty serious. Not sure I follow entirely but some great shots!
aditya d. Posted 7 months ago
I'm not very sure what you're trying to convey here, but I am intrigued. Hope some of the questions get answered in the later videos. Good luck!
naina s. Posted 7 months ago
The music is kind of catchy, but the rest of it is pretty confusing. Is this like a sum up of different episodes that he is going through in his mind?
Brent C. Posted 7 months ago
These exact comments are being duplicated.
megha s. Posted 7 months ago
I get that he is looking for something desperately but what or how doesn't make much sense to me. Hopefully we'll get some more answers soon!

Adam K. Posted 7 months ago
Very good camera work.
Troy H. Posted 7 months ago
as in previous comments nice camera work, but what story are you trying to tell here, it is a little confusing to me but shot well nonetheless good luck
Joslyn P. Posted 7 months ago
Like always you guys are funny. Not really sure what you guys were doing here but it had some good shots, music and stuff. Good job
Nolan B. Posted 7 months ago
I'm not very sure what you're trying to convey here, but I am intrigued. Hope some of the questions get answered in the later videos. Good luck!

Paul H. Posted 7 months ago
Like some of the other people below I'm a bit confused but some of the visuals are really striking and well framed!
Alan B. Posted 7 months ago
I was a bit confused about what was happening in the scene but I do understand it. I'm guessing this scene is an improvised prologue that takes place between the events of Lake Cop 1 and 2. I like the scene.
Georgia M. Posted 7 months ago
Okay, I have to say this movie does look hilarious. Lake Cop is running around in his "Lt. Dangle" mini shorts dispensing justice. Fun!
Michael M. Posted 7 months ago
Liked the running, but was left looking for more.
Michelle G. Posted 7 months ago
you've definitely got some good shots here I just didn't get the transitions between the scenes. I found it a little confusing.
Tally K. Posted 7 months ago
The origin of Lake Cop, maybe? A lone man with no memory but a deep connection to the water. Good job!
andy k. Posted 7 months ago
Don't really know what that was?
Kyle M. Posted 7 months ago
Not really feeling this video. Too many random shots. I liked the opening shot tho I feel it just dropped off after that.
Brendan M. Posted 7 months ago
It seems like these guys get better with every video they make haha looks awesome. Keep it up and Good luck!
Fraser C. Posted 7 months ago
Not sure what happened in this one. It was hard to stay focussed throught whole 90 seconds. Thought the opening shot was really cool tho!
Aaron S. Posted 7 months ago
Low angles, smash cuts... I'm starting to feel a little Baywatch vs. CSI Miami! Am I anywhere near the mark? Anyway, really enjoyed the cut, you did something different here and I like the change of pace.
Maggie G. Posted 7 months ago
Strange, alive, then drowning, then meditation after a long walk? Am I missing it...the music is good but the camera was shaking hhmm
Christine W. Posted 7 months ago
Music was quite ominous. Not sure exactly what is happening here but it piqued my interest. Will keep an eye on this.
Colin T. Posted 7 months ago
I enjoyed a lot of the shots here, the meditating under the tree was a pretty cool visual as well. Music isn't bad.
Sarah T. Posted 7 months ago
kinda boring at times, but still had a few chuckles. dudes bare feet walking made me laugh out loud for some reason
Ralph G. Posted 7 months ago
you guys are one of my favorite teams. this weeks mission was funny, bot not your best, coulda used more mustache!
Brent C. Posted 7 months ago
Hehe, I can only grow them so fast.
Shane R. Posted 7 months ago
i dont know why. but i couldnt help but laugh. just find you guys funny. dont even know if u were trying to be funny. but u were
Brent C. Posted 7 months ago
I like that :) #lakecop
Leta P. Posted 7 months ago
Interesting idea to convey the importance of sound. I like how the music and sound mesh so well with the pictures.
John K. Posted 7 months ago
Ignore the haters, comedies are in tough to do this challenge. The score was cool, the rest was alright. I'm still cheering for you guys even as a competitor :)
Brent C. Posted 7 months ago
Thanks John. Just using Jinglepunks, as there wasn't time to really customize the score. For the film, the score of is supremely important to me, and I'd devote a large part of the resources to getting it right. I know what I like, but it takes enormous time even to listen to royalty-free libraries to find a fit.
John K. Posted 7 months ago
Not every team has a director/composer #selfplug
But I agree, we used one Jingle Punks track so far as well, takes a while to suss out something suitable.
Andrew M. Posted 7 months ago
Barely abel to comprehend. Totally unable to deny. This is 152 seconds of pure something, especially the part when I thought i was turning the volume up on my mac, or was I?
Darryl L. Posted 7 months ago
Great music. Matched the shots really well. Didn't expect you guys to be so good with cinematography! Well done!
Zach L. Posted 7 months ago
Taking into account Brent's explanation in the comments, this was a pretty well made trailer. It felt like you were doing a parody of the whole spirit journey type trope that's in a lot of action movies. This is still one of my favorite projects. Don't give up!
Brent C. Posted 7 months ago
Thanks for taking that into account! This is not the film; its a shipwreck, during a set-up-to-fail mission, and the captain goes down with the ship.
Michael B. Posted 7 months ago
Was not very well put together or defended by the creator at all. I still don't get it and don't care to. My condolences.
Brent C. Posted 7 months ago
I've tried to defend it; see my reply to Zach L's acknlowledgment, and further comments all over.
John K. Posted 7 months ago
Very odd sequence. I was confused like others. I did dig the reference to meditating under the tree. What was this ? A creation video?
William R. Posted 7 months ago
Got very confusing when the guy started to remember, I guess because it's not really clear on whats going on.
Rod M. Posted 7 months ago
You lost me. I thought I was with you with the incoming tide but got lost when your guy was spinning.
Jeff U. Posted 7 months ago
I like to think we're seeing the origin of Lake Cop here - the moment when he transcends being just an ordinary cop.
Sage B. Posted 7 months ago
I dug the visuals, and I dug the score, and yes I was confused, but enjoyed the pov of feet running through mud shot, and the giant crater next to lake... - SCAM
Brent C. Posted 7 months ago
It was meant to be confusing, but not that confusing. I pretty much just ran out of time and couldn't finish editing.
Sage B. Posted 7 months ago
That is pretty much what happens to us every sunday night lol... Time is Money as they say, and there is never enough of it:)
Brent C. Posted 7 months ago
To all who are confused, which seems to be all, its abstract, purposefully unclear what is going on, but symbolically, you can squeeze some drops of meaning out with a little effort. Lake Cop is in purgatory because he was obliged to make a silent video, which is not part of the script. Even if it was, its has to be logistically convenient, if its to be true to the script. That's why this is a prologue and very different from the trailer. I was a bit late, so I could not add any more pics or text to go with the video. I'm not making excuses, but I sincerely hope this clears the waters for some! #lakecop #voteboat
Cara S. Posted 7 months ago
You still got a few of my votes. :)
Sarah M. Posted 7 months ago
Liked the music but confused with the meaning behind the visuals. Not sure how it all relates but will go back and watch the trailer.
Brent C. Posted 7 months ago
Please see my comment above :)
Kim C. Posted 7 months ago
Sorry but I don't get it and not sure how it is going to set the stage for the movie as a prologue. Maybe this mission wasn't a good fit for this project?
Brent C. Posted 7 months ago
Please see my comment above :)
Cara S. Posted 7 months ago
Music and shots are very cool, but having watched the trailer as well I have no idea what this movie will be like. It also felt like it was forced to be a certain length. Or maybe cheeky comedies like this are at a disadvantage with this challenge.
Brent C. Posted 7 months ago
Please see my comment above :)
Ignace F. Posted 7 months ago
I'm not very sure what you're trying to convey here, but I am intrigued. Hope some of the questions get answered in the later videos. Good luck!
Brent C. Posted 7 months ago
Please see my comment above :) And I hope I can deliver some real answers next mission, but we'll see.
François X. Posted 7 months ago

This one is slightly vague. I guess I agree with this seeming like a dream sequence. Doesn't seem to fit in any other way lol!
Brent C. Posted 7 months ago
Thank you. Please see my comment above :)
Georgia M. Posted 7 months ago
There were some beautiful, wonderfully artistic shots of the tide coming in around "Lake Cop" as he was lying in the sand, but the story was lost. I don't think it was narrative enough.
Brent C. Posted 7 months ago
Please see my comment above :)
Clutch W. Posted 7 months ago
Hmmm...yeah some good shots in this one but agree with those saying it's hard to tell if this would work in the film - unless it's a dream sequence? That might make more sense.
Brent C. Posted 7 months ago
Please see my comment above :)
Afzal H. Posted 7 months ago
We wanted to see a narrative snapshot from your film that showed off your vision & ability to tell a story using a camera and cuts - I think you missed the narrative part, it just kept on jumping from one thing to another with no connection at all.
Brent C. Posted 7 months ago
I think you missed the part where I don't have any time or money for this, and the part where I'm not going to go film my movie without resources, for a contest that asks us to go make our movie with no resources, in order to get money to make our movie. I think Clutch W. is on to something!
Afzal H. Posted 7 months ago
I totally understand where you're coming from you can always do something amazing with what you have. There are a couple of projects that used storyboards with sound design and trust me they were way better than other people's actual visuals. It's all about how bad you want to win this contest. You definitely have the skills my friend, just have to play with the available resources until they hand you the million bucks. Good luck!
Ada K. Posted 7 months ago
all I get from this is he survives whatever happens to him , and he looking for the answer. bet that water was cold...
Beverley R. Posted 7 months ago
This clip really doesn't tell you much about the movie, it seems to jump from one thing to another but not related

Brent C. Posted 7 months ago
is this sarcasm?
Reginald R. Posted 7 months ago
I expected a little more humor from the mission. The trailer was awesome! This lost my interest sightly
Cathie S. Posted 7 months ago
I agree with Jessica re: info below the mission because there is some suspense but not sure what this film is about so off to watch the trailer!
Brent C. Posted 7 months ago
Yes, the trailer is a good place to start, but it wasn't made for this contest, so its not really a pitch. It's close, but I'd make a better film.
Lesley C. Posted 7 months ago
I'm not entirely sure what you are getting at with this music, which builds throughout, yet the visuals don't match.
Jessica L. Posted 7 months ago
Would have liked a little info below the mission, but still very interesting. Also kind of confusing.
Amanda C. Posted 7 months ago
I dont get this mission with the trailer but I guess thats why we see the movie :P...
Nadav S. Posted 7 months ago
Interesting... not sure how this fits in with what I thought the flick was about via the trailer. However, it's interesting...
Allan W. Posted 7 months ago
So, Zen master under the tree with sprained wrist recalls waking up in a dried up kiddie pool after washing up on a reversed tide beach while having a memory of a drowning incident while snorkelling? LOL Now I'll be thinking about this one for the rest of the week. Cool.
Brent C. Posted 7 months ago
Shrewdest analysis yet! Something like that. Good job Allan. #lakecop
Richmain Y. Posted 7 months ago
i like the sound effects gets everyone moving and motivated, goes very well with the dynamic camera work. well done!!!
Alannah J. Posted 7 months ago
What just happened? This is so odd. I couldn't decide whether or not I should laugh or just shake my head and walk away. I guess that's the point?
Josh P. Posted 7 months ago
You film techniques are really really awesome. Thought the lighting was good. Serious, yet humurous.
Brent C. Posted 7 months ago
Natural light. :)
Skye B. Posted 7 months ago
The camera angles are gorgeous - doesn't look amateur at all. Looks like the real thing. Totally impressed.
Matty G. Posted 7 months ago
Brent, there is something about Lake Cop and the way your brain works that's just awesome to me. You rule dude! Awesome.
Jonathon C. Posted 7 months ago
Interesting. Did Lake Cop die twice but still get back up to fight another day? Was a little confused but it doesn't matter because Lake Cop is just so bad a$$
miranda k. Posted 7 months ago
I had a hard time fallowing what was going on and a bit choppy. Interesting effects though. I know there is a lot of time pressure. Good luck
Andy O. Posted 7 months ago
OK. Can someone please explain this to me. I'm having a flashback to Terminator. Arnold nude in LA...weird ?!!?
Kirby R. Posted 7 months ago
Great job Brent! Looking good!
Mateusz M. Posted 7 months ago
Hmmm... It was weird but addictive video. Sam nie wiem, co o tym sądzić. Czekałem, aż coś się wydarzy i się nie doczekałem. Anyway, Best of luck!
Will B. Posted 7 months ago
I just watched your trailer today and thought it was hilarious. I want to track down Lake Cop 1. Your style of film does make this mission difficult. I think you had the right idea with a montage video, but I think you failed in including a lot of the visual/campy Humour you see throughout the trailer. My advice, not that I am certified to give it, would be to have quicker edits to the montage, and add visual/physical jokes into the overly serious tone of the video. You've got all those elements in the trailer, maybe you just needed more time to integrate them into this mission. Best of luck!
Brent C. Posted 7 months ago
I appreciate the feedback. More time is really the key. I don't have any time for money for these intense surprise missions, and this one was ridiculous, yet there is an expectation of us all to just make it happen.
June B. Posted 7 months ago
Looks like the tide coming in but it wouldn't on a lake... he seems to be a part or extension of the water. I agree this is somewhat confusing, despite some good visuals. I remain a fan because of the earlier missions. Hope to see more of the comedy again soon.
Scott S. Posted 7 months ago
Look very nice but the cross over between each area is alittle difficult to follow the mood of the film
Brent C. Posted 7 months ago
Thanks, and you're right, but its because of the mission constraint, and the fact I have no time or money. I am not trying to make excuses, but I'm trying to start engaging with fans more. I appreciate your interest.
Scott S. Posted 6 months ago
Great to see your effort still. our team Rosalind Revenge we are full time university students and working full time jobs ontop of making it in this contest We can relate with no time or money to get things going especially with this new mission we are all going into finals so time is gone for us
Scott S. Posted 6 months ago
And keep up the Great work guys
Wesley S. Posted 7 months ago
Love the aviators, but there is no glimpse to the story about the ripple effect which this cop is trying to protect, or a clear antagonist which raises hopes or dashes them for future scenes.
Brent C. Posted 7 months ago
Thanks, but you guys have you understand that the CineCoup contest is surprising us with missions each week, with restrictions, like no dialogue. Plus no spoliers! I didn't sign up to make my script in piecemeal segments with no resources or time, so it is what it is.
Maikol P. Posted 7 months ago
oops. was on my ipad and flagged comment by accident ^ Please disregard, Cinecoup
Leta P. Posted 7 months ago
Interesting.. learning more
Jan B. Posted 7 months ago
Watch out with contrast, too much and it looks amateurish when you lose all detail. Not sure I follow the story.
Benjamin O. Posted 7 months ago
WTF? Not quite following this...
Sam L. Posted 7 months ago
Haha, interesting combination of clips. It came across a little muddled, but I also think your plot is particularly difficult to convey without dialogue.
Brent C. Posted 7 months ago
To be forthright, the constraints of this mission were in fact impossible, as some teams don't have scripts, but for those that do, a lot scripts don't contain a 90 second speechless scene, let alone one conveniently filmable one on a weekend with no budget. This is an improvised prologue which, taking place between the events of Lake Cop 1 and 2, is open to interpretation. :)
Daylen M. Posted 7 months ago
Kinda confused about what's going on. Speechless is a difficult mission but I wish that we learned more about Lake Cop.
Brent C. Posted 7 months ago
I wish I could give you more (because there is a lot more), but I'm constrained by more than just the demanding CineCoup missions. I appreciate your support, if I have it!
Jonny B. Posted 7 months ago
Everyone loves a montage, not sure how they are all connected? Water on the brain? Hope to see things flow together more.
Brent C. Posted 7 months ago
I know Jonny, many constraints.. See my reply to Sam L. above. I'm curious to see what some other teams have done now.
