Please find a way to make this movie. It is critical that people start to care more about the animals we share the world with
Sarah A. Posted 5 months ago
I'm impressed by your work. Well done!
Scott G. Posted 5 months ago
All of your missions have been important and informative. You're talented filmmakers with a worthy cause.
Heather O. Posted 5 months ago
It has been really interesting following the missions and seeing what each team will come up with. Good luck on the next round of voting.
Jordan S. Posted 5 months ago
Very touching story, great to see there are people out there who actually care. This is definately an issue that needs to be brought to life and after this video, it seems like you guys can!
Foxbase A. Posted 5 months ago
I know this will be a riveting film when it gets made, looking forward to catching it in the theatre!
Bart G. Posted 5 months ago
I couldn't agree more with what Chloe just said. You guys are making a very important film here. People need to know this story
Chloe V. Posted 5 months ago
I am very sad for what is happening to the orangutans. I am happy you guys made the top 15. The video is powerful.
Celene C. Posted 5 months ago
I am sure there will be animals in this at some point, but what I have seen looks interesting.
pam v. Posted 5 months ago
I really love the hard work you guys are doing for these animals. It is a worthy and noble cause. Wish you guys made the top 10 :(
Sandra l. Posted 5 months ago
This was really a great sequence and trailer. Really makes one think, sad you guys didnt make the cut!
Trevor G. Posted 5 months ago
Incredibly powerful imagery
Mary L. Posted 5 months ago
Enters Adventures of Buckaroo Bonzai across the rain forest, and a helicopter appears out of nowhere and swoops down and abducts all the bad guys and blows up the equipment to save the day. Hold on, I guess that's not really documentary material..
Jolene K. Posted 6 months ago
I FELT LIKE I WAS LISTENING TO A MEDITATION TAPE...VERY SOOTHING TO WATCH AS IT CAPTURES THE PEACEFULNESS THAT IT COULD BE
Perry M. Posted 6 months ago
very interesting to watch. Whenever there is confusion, fear, suspense and running away from something or being chased..then coming up to a house..well done!
Dylan L. Posted 6 months ago
Although the pacing dragged a little bit, the message was clear and effective. Beautiful shots though!
Cathy J. Posted 6 months ago
The camera work was great...made me feel like I was right in the jungle as well. I think this is an important story.
Brenda H. Posted 6 months ago
I like your use of the "natural music" to add to this. The video is nicely shot. I like the way that you put the beauty of nature against the harm that is being caused in the end.
Glen H. Posted 6 months ago
I like the long shots off the opening. At times it seems a little slow. Nicely shot and nice audio. Nice transition from the beauty to the clear cutting.
Grayson L. Posted 6 months ago
Such beautiful shots! You have really captured the essence of the rainforests. Good luck!
Astra L. Posted 6 months ago
Great video! Really excellent cinematography and audio! made me feel as though I was in the jungle there too! Thank you for raising awareness about this!
Ben S. Posted 6 months ago
Very nice cinematography, felt like I was there in the jungle! Good luck to you guys! Hope you guys are in the top 15
Alex B. Posted 6 months ago
the camera work on this film is really good, but I think the switches when they were showing the insect was a bit quick but I gues if you only have a minute and half to work with you do what you do...i really liked the impact of showing the devastation at the end.
Simon P. Posted 6 months ago
I think that the photography of the work on this film that I have seen to date is awesome I hope that this does really well, it is also an important story
Ella H. Posted 6 months ago
Nice idea of using the call of birds and animals for your music. The shots are beautiful too! Good luck!
Simon P. Posted 6 months ago
great photography
Milan S. Posted 6 months ago
Very beautiful scenery shots. I would not necessarily call this sequence a silent or speechless one, but the images are captivating
Ryder L. Posted 6 months ago
Such beautiful shots! You have really captured the essence of the rainforests. Good luck!
Hudson M. Posted 6 months ago
I completely agree with the person above. Love the way you have captured the different aspects of the jungle.
Makenna C. Posted 6 months ago

Alexandra S. Posted 6 months ago
This was a moving depiction of man ignoring nature. I love the content, the sounds and the direction of your project! Good luck!
Timario M. Posted 6 months ago
Great shots!! Was this all you, or have you borrowed some footage? Impressed either way. A great ramp up to the ugly truth though ... They forget to show us that part in the travel brochures.
Donald Y. Posted 6 months ago
Very nice scenery and a clear reason to be unhappy with the decimation of the rain forest.
jane D. Posted 6 months ago
looks fab
R2 D. Posted 6 months ago
I can watch movies about planet earth all the time. with or without a message these images always say the same thing no matter what... I'm fragile handle with care.
Bert T. Posted 7 months ago
You were able to show a pretty drastic contrast in the scenes which proved to be powerful to the audience
Lindsay A. Posted 7 months ago
Great build up to the last scenes of destruction - how horrifying. Thank you for highlighting this heart breaking and vitally important issue.
Ryan D. Posted 7 months ago
Love this video! Feel like im encountering the rainforest myself and the sudden transition to the deforestation makes it painfully clear what is happening. Keep up the great work!
Bobbi H. Posted 7 months ago
Beautifully shot and edited video, the video leaves me "speechless." This proves a hidden story that needs to be told to the world.
Tony M. Posted 7 months ago
I dont think your montage really applys to the mission! But it really did look amazing! Keep up the good work!
jerry lee c. Posted 7 months ago
Can't help myself. A nature lover. This has much promise after all the kinks are worked out. Hang in there..
Carolyn D. Posted 7 months ago
I don't know if a ninety second montage really does justice to the purpose of this mission but I suppose it must be difficult as a doc. Nice footage though and of course a very important subject!
Sherri L. Posted 7 months ago
Nice video clips but I didn't like how there was text used at the start. Sort of defeats the "speechless" part of the mission.
Grayson W. Posted 7 months ago
So wait....is this movie filmed? Cause if it is it doesnt really feel like it should be here sorry.
Mark B. Posted 7 months ago
Hi Grayson. Thanks for your comment. The movie has not been filmed. Footage and photos we've been using for the trailer and missions was either acquired by ourselves on a research & development trip to Borneo or supplied by the film's characters or online stock. You can appreciate the personal investment we have made so far in travelling to Indonesia in order to flush out the best characters and material for the film pitch.
Joe Y. Posted 7 months ago
It seemed a little too 'raw' for me at times. The camera work on the river just appeared to be too shaky, but an easily understood message.
Enzo V. Posted 7 months ago
You have a wonderful project on the go, you should be proud. The visuals are truly stunning. Can't wait to see more.
Andy M. Posted 7 months ago
I understand the story within this piece of the threat - the shrinking of the habitat. I want more from this.
Hugh P. Posted 7 months ago
great shots, great cause, great scenery, it would be great to sit there with a rifle and shoot at the people cutting down that habitat
Joe B. Posted 7 months ago
Very well done, the scenery is really cool until it widens up and you see all the trees cut down. It's very sad, but I would love to see the final product of this Doc.
Merle P. Posted 7 months ago
I love national geographic and stuff like that, so this would be one for me to watch
luke k. Posted 7 months ago
The scenery was amazing and great shots of the animals.Very sad and thought provoking peice, thankyou!
William B. Posted 7 months ago
I wish I knew more of the "story" in this clip. I see the setting, and I get an idea of the environment, but I don't know anything else.
Mark B. Posted 7 months ago
Hi William. thank you for your comment. The trailer will give you the truest sense of what the film is about. "Speechless" is merely a scene snapshot put to sounds of nature instead of music.
Anthony N. Posted 7 months ago
Very well done, the scenery is really cool until it widens up and you see all the trees cut down. It's very sad, but I would love to see the final product of this Doc.
Thomas P. Posted 7 months ago
Excellent! I love the text instead of a narrator, I think the movie would be great like that, and this really shows the scale of destruction well.
Hudson M. Posted 7 months ago
Really enjoyed the video and would love to see more from your team. Both sides of the rainforest are captured beautifully. Nice.

Shannon T. Posted 7 months ago
I also love the setting. I hope the content can match it.
Lizzy T. Posted 7 months ago
Beautiful setting. Powerful message the way it cuts to the cleared forest. This sotry does need to be told.
Tammy B. Posted 7 months ago
Music is nice and scenery is great but I don't really get this feel of this and hasn't it been done to death with 2 famous ladies and gorillas?
Sandra L. Posted 7 months ago
thanks for your comment Tammy. No, it hasn't been done. The connection between palm oil which we use in over 40% of consumer goods and the huge deforestation and with it the extinction of orangutans and other animals. People don't know and change has to happen fast. Thanks.
Matt D. Posted 7 months ago
Beautiful scenery! Can't beleive how good some of those shots look in the rain forest. look forward to more.
Nancy R. Posted 7 months ago
Great cinematography captured the beauty of the rainforest. Using the natural sounds of the birds, running water etc. much more powerful than using music for a sound track.
patricia s. Posted 7 months ago
beautiful sights and sound, like it
Michael J. Posted 7 months ago
I loved the beautiful sights and sounds of the rainforest. Really shows what a beautiful place it us and the scale of destruction is heartbreaking.

Very well shot. The scenery looks beautiful. The reveal at the end works well.
Jason L. Posted 7 months ago
Listen, I love this project and I'm hoping it goes all the way, but I think this might have been a missed opportunity. Orangutans can't speak. To show an interaction between two orangutans that reflected some emotional connection between them would have been so powerful...I was hoping to see that rather than just a travelogue. Oh well - still rooting for you. Better luck next time.
XinLi H. Posted 7 months ago
The habitat of the Orangutans. Their life should be recognized. I feel that this documentary will give society a better view of these species before starting violence against them. At least I hope so. Anything that has a chance of preventing harms way toward them, don't give up.
Jennifer P. Posted 7 months ago
How beautiful! (The alive forest of course). It must have been astounding to be in the midst of some of these places shooting.
Adam K. Posted 7 months ago
Beautiful cinematography
John K. Posted 7 months ago
Powerful video... love the project, love the cause, love the filmmaking. Make this movie, please... Get it done.
Christopher L. Posted 7 months ago
Great job on the video, really dig the cause and look forward to seeing more about this. How we can't see beyond a profit margin to the true repercussions of our actions is beyond me. Keep it up. Cheers - Team War Paint
Jay C. Posted 7 months ago
This video makes me so mad. People are the worst. Seems like you picked a really good cause. Great visuals.
Patrick C. Posted 7 months ago
I like this film concept, but I think the first minute of this video was unnecessary and didn't add anything. That didn't leave very much for the viewer.
Ashley A. Posted 7 months ago
Love!
Walter H. Posted 7 months ago
I find my interest waning in your project. I'm hoping the next mission gives you a chance to reel me back in. Good luck!

Such beautiful shots! You have really captured the essence of the rainforests. Good luck!
Alan B. Posted 7 months ago
I love the scene. I love the sounds of the forest; both the animals and nature. It feels like if I'm actually there. The sad part was the deforestation. I like that the scene gives a message and shows awareness to the people that we all must save the rainforests before it is too late. It would be very sad if the Orangutans and other types of animals become extinct.
Donal O. Posted 7 months ago
Excellent cinematography. I have to pay more attention to your project. I can't decide if I like the use of the natural sounds enhances the story that you're telling or not. It definitely puts you in context, however since you're trying to inspire emotion the relatively quiet clear cutting doesn't have the impact it should.
Candy H. Posted 7 months ago
using nature sounds was an added bonus as it gave me the feeling i was in the rainforest with you. documentary without words can be powerful.
Tally K. Posted 7 months ago
Love it. I think it shows how much nature speaks for itself, and using text was clever - you could do the whole documentary without narration, which is great because narration is sometimes really annoying, unless you're David Attenborough!
Rachel W. Posted 7 months ago
Beautiful cinematography like most others on here are saying - I really enjoy this project overall. Good work!
Iwona b. Posted 7 months ago
Nice but not very novel. Reminde me of recorded sounds of nature, but I like it. I like how nature is captured.
Andrej K. Posted 7 months ago
I can see clearly haw wonderful force of nature could be destroyed and vanish. Superb sound and cinematography. Wish to see full project.
Katherine H. Posted 7 months ago
The locations in this look wonderful and so lush. It would look fantastic on the big screen.
Crystal F. Posted 7 months ago
I want to like this film but for some reason it's missing that really deep emotional hook for me. I just can't get taken with it.
No K. Posted 7 months ago
Cut into a classroom scene in 2100. Kids are learning about history of earth from the previous centuries and all the animals that used be there
Really enjoyed the video and would love to see more from your team. Both sides of the rainforest are captured beautifully. Nice.

"speechless" Great titles. love it, the jungle was quite somthing, beautiful and sad at the same time:)
Jenna M. Posted 7 months ago
This was altogether well done. The choice of scenes, the sound, and the depiction of the jungle was exceptional. Great shots
Luna j. Posted 7 months ago
it is so beautiful ! i love the jungle sounds and it really makes me sad to see them destroying it
Ewa B. Posted 7 months ago
This makes me sad but so much more aware of what's going on around the world. People tend to forget the problems of the world when it's not happening in their own backyard.
Monique M. Posted 7 months ago
I really like this project because it informed me of a situation I didn't realize was occurring. I'd love to see this become a full documentary.
Jonathon C. Posted 7 months ago
This project represents the pinnacle of the consumer choice debate. We can make a difference and should all refuse palm oil products created unsustainably and through rainforest destruction. Great job team Orangutan.
OceanArtist B. Posted 7 months ago
So happy I had 11 votes to use on this project!!
Karen H. Posted 7 months ago
Excellent shots - snail, centipede, love the sped up trees moving, and the amped up sounds and running water make me remember how great that air tastes!
Vanessa W. Posted 7 months ago
The sounds of the forest and all it has to offer are rich. I would like to see different ways in which you can capture nature. The end footage leaves me wanting to help. Good work.
Margaret S. Posted 7 months ago
Thanks for sharing this with us! The footage is gorgeous and it's really interesting to let nature speak for itself. What an impact that last shot of the forest burning has! Very evocative and thought provoking.
Jacob R. Posted 7 months ago
Good luck this is very enlightening, no need for words the scenes say it all beautiful cinematography
Emily H. Posted 7 months ago
This what from my footage in my time in Borneo, beautifully edited by my friend Brian Cruz. Glad we could share it with the world here on CineCoup!
Milagro T. Posted 7 months ago
Impressing and sad. Thanks for sharing it with us!
Ryan G. Posted 7 months ago
What is best about this is there is no need for Narration, or text, the imagery speaks, no... Screams.
Kathy A. Posted 7 months ago
This is very beautifully shot! I am very excited to see where you take this story. Whatever happens here, I hope this film gets made!
Emersen Z. Posted 7 months ago
It is quite refreshing watching this footage. It really speaks for itself. Bravo. Can't wait to see more.
Sara B. Posted 7 months ago
Beautiful cinematography! We really hope you make this documentary. It's such an important topic! Love, the team from Long Distance
Curtis B. Posted 7 months ago
I love the cinematography and the closeups of the wormy thing and the snail are awesome. Then to see the destruction of the natural habitat sure sends a powerful message. I thing you got your point across nicely.
Kate R. Posted 7 months ago
Pretty. Stunning images. I love listening to the sound of nature. Mission accomplished. Good Luck.
Ruxandra R. Posted 7 months ago
The scenes are beautiful, what an amazing place. I like the message this brings, though I found the cutting of some parts not very smooth but still a nice video.
Eric R. Posted 7 months ago
Beautiful mission. Loved the Beauty of the nature scenes and then transitioning into the harsh reality of what is really happening.
Danny L. Posted 7 months ago
Brought you in with the camera work like you were in the jungle and the end to what man is doing to it great cause
Keri M. Posted 7 months ago
Amazing visuals. No words are necessary! What is being done to the planet and these amazing animals should leave anyone speechless!
Melissa C. Posted 7 months ago
Good job again. Love the nature sounds and just seeing the scenes tell the story. Like how you brought the two sides together. Beautiful nature and what mankind is doing to it.
Stuart P. Posted 7 months ago
Very cool. But I don't think that showing how humans are destroying the forest should have been in it but more what the guerrillas are doing in the nature
Bari D. Posted 7 months ago
Totally speechless. Beauty of nature is priceless. It's really sad what mankind is doing for the pursuit of money. A Powerful connection
Erica O. Posted 7 months ago
I just love what you are doing so much. I think it's so important to have films that speak for the planet. Nicely done, as usual.
Sarah M. Posted 7 months ago
Beautiful scenery and powerful sound effects! Photography is excellent and the message is loud and clear!
Ramona B. Posted 7 months ago
Beautiful shots and sounds with such a disturbing ending. This will be a powerful project. Great scene, guys.
Kim C. Posted 7 months ago
You've told a whole story with this scene. It can stand alone on its own and would make a great promo piece or even a PSA to draw attention to the problem with a call to action to visit a website for more info. Well done!
Natalia N. Posted 7 months ago
Visually breathtaking. Well done on using nature's own music. I noticed how near they end you don't hear as many bird and animal sounds as the rainforest it being cutdown.
Derek F. Posted 7 months ago
So strong. This is such an important project. It's also a wonderful use of prize money. If you folks win it all that would be a victory for this entire Cinecoup project. I'm in your corner.
Frederick D. Posted 7 months ago
You really captured the two opposites sides of the rainforest: First, the abundance, and the richness of the vegetation, and then, the devastated areas.
Bernadette C. Posted 7 months ago
Very effective! You took me on a lovely trip through the rainforest with all of nature's beautiful sounds and lush green vegetation and then end with its destruction.
Emily R. Posted 7 months ago
Amazing shots. You guys really captured the beauty of the rain forest and the devestation of what's happening. I really like the educational aspect of your missions. Good work!
Kismet T. Posted 7 months ago
Very moving as you take the audience on their journey. You have some great footage here. I like your audio choices.
Lisa C. Posted 7 months ago
amazing footage. You really get the feeling of the rainforest. Great choice with using natures music. Very impacting, especially the last shot.
Michelle G. Posted 7 months ago
nicely done. Good contrast of the lush vibrant forest to the desolate landscape. Lovely footage and variety of shots.
sonia r. Posted 7 months ago
I really enjoyed the sound of nature. Is a good introduction or like you said "subtle scene transition". Good job!
Afzal H. Posted 7 months ago
This sequence gives a clear message but this would have been more powerful as a shorter edit. There are a few frames that could have easily been taken out without affecting the visual narrative. Good job guys!
Paul H. Posted 7 months ago
The shots were really beautiful. I am really interested in the storyline and hope that you will lead us with the carrot instead of beating us with a stick when it comes to the message! :)
patricia s. Posted 7 months ago
great shots, lovely sounds, and what a beautiful scene, reminds me of my home land
Mandy G. Posted 7 months ago
What a beautiful place. The sounds in your clip really took you there. You could almost smell the air.
Corey T. Posted 7 months ago
The shots were really beautiful. I am really interested in the storyline and hope that you will lead us with the carrot instead of beating us with a stick when it comes to the message! :)
Meika A. Posted 7 months ago
some great shots but did expect a little more and wonder like, Kelly, if this is stock footage...I like your message
Lianna W. Posted 7 months ago
Yes it happens all over the world, including in BC. I have been to Borneo and was shocked myself. I hope you can put together a story that brings understanding and change.
Jonathon C. Posted 7 months ago
Great job team Orangutan! The only thing Iw as hoping for, which was probably wishful thinking was to see some kind of slow transition or time-lapse of a forest being destroyed. Still loved it. Sapience Team
Diane N. Posted 7 months ago
I loved your Speechless Sequences. Would have loved to see more of the orangutans themselves. Are they becoming extinct because of poaching, or destruction of their habitat, or both?
Amanda B. Posted 7 months ago
I really agree with Stephanie K and Sarah B. I felt peaceful watching this and felt that these beautiful creatures are peaceful. Then when the shot pulled out, we learned that their habitat is being destroyed. This should not happen.
Aiden V. Posted 7 months ago
Really enjoyed the footage on this one. The sounds and feel were fresh and natural. I think the message is there
Paige A. Posted 7 months ago
Beautiful footage. The end of the mission left an impact. Keep up the great work. I am enjoying watching your missions.
Sarah B. Posted 7 months ago
Wow! Great work on this. The images speak for themselves and the last shot - pulling out to show the absolute destruction does leave me speechless. As it should!
Don T. Posted 7 months ago
I think you nailed this, some great shots and the sounds were all natural. and then of course the message you get across is powerful.
John L. Posted 7 months ago
Loved it. But say it aint so; Kelly planted an ear worm. Tell us it is all your original footage, PLEASE!
Kelly G. Posted 7 months ago
This was great. Let nature (and the lack of it) do the talking for you. Can I ask, is some of this stock footage? I noticed a quality gap in some shots. Not a complaint, more a curiousity. Great job, important message, important film. Good luck!
Kris B. Posted 7 months ago
I feel that this is a great set up to the movie. I also feel that it is what the movie is about, which is great AND very important... but I would like more of a way in. let the movie show me more of how the forest is important from the story POV. the images are so beautiful.
Stephanie K. Posted 7 months ago
Loved it. You really didn't need any words (or music!) at all to get your point across. Well shot and well edited.
George A. Posted 7 months ago
Watching the clear-cutting images of what we are doing to ourselves is troublesome and distressing. Your film is another big wake-up call.
steve l. Posted 7 months ago
The cinematography combined with the sounds of nature reminds us of what an incredible planet we live on. The clearcutting clearly illustrates man's ability to destroy all that is good.
Yvonne L. Posted 7 months ago
Thank You so much for bringing this project to the big screen. It is beautiful and well shot. The issues addressed here are so important and must be seen. Bravo and Good Luck guys !!!!!
Will R. Posted 7 months ago
Excellent. This is a wonderful bit of film making. If you don't win, i really hope you will finish the project anyway. This needs to be seen.
Bobbi F. Posted 7 months ago
I like this project a lot—the subject matter, the visuals. I also love the title. It will be interesting to see how this one fares in the competition.
Michelle S. Posted 7 months ago
wow it's beautiful ! i love the jungle sounds and the nature is breathtaking. an the message is clear
Amy Z. Posted 7 months ago
Absolutely in love with the images! The footage is breathtaking. I am amazed by the story told. You always put together such fantastic work. Great Job!
Dianna D. Posted 7 months ago
I love the nature scenes and the sounds of the jungle. Seeing that beauty destroyed is so painful. The message is loud and clear- great job!!
Jason T. Posted 7 months ago
I've always loved the sound of the jungle, I know it scares some people but I found the utter chaos of it all rather soothing. Makes my heart sink seeing it all burn.

This is EXCELLENT! Heartbreaking to see the clear cutting at the end. Gorgeous shots of the Orangutans and very touching seeing how it affects our future. There won't be much to draw if someone like your team doesn't fight for them. Love everything you stand for. #absolutionmovie

So beautiful and easy to watch and love. One of Pretty Life's favourites

It's very refreshing to see these beautiful nature shots, but the fact that they're being threatened and so are the Orangutans make it so alarming... beautiful visuals!! Best of success and thank you for raising awareness about this. -Jon, team 'Donde Esta Guillermo'

I was really looking forward to how you guys would approach this mission - the ending has a definite impact.

The visuals in this are incredible and very engaging. I will admit, the sound design left a little to be desired... The sound quality was great but the scene transitions at times were a bit abrupt.

Great establishing shots above and then to the more intimate forest floor. Wonder if that can be mirrored with the scenes of the devastation. I don't take issue with the audio, but wonder if it could be subtly scored to enhance the emotional intent without being too obvious.

Oh man! It is awful what they are doing that beautiful rainforest. Wonderful footage, great images...I really want to see more on how we can save these beautiful creatures.

The soundscape of nature was lovely, and when we get to the end, the destruction it is truly sad. Nice job. Team PromNightOTLD

I did enjoy the footage of the nature and wildlife but wonder if the cutting away to the destruction could have been smoother?

This team has had both the easiest and the hardest time to create a video for this mission. Not only are they thousands of km away inhibiting them from filming but this mission also shows an example of the hours of B footage they have acquired. This tells me one of two things, either they already have a film which could be distributed or they have bought a lot of the images.

Right you are Tyler and good observation. Acquiring this footage is logistically very challenging as you need to go quite deep to see true rainforest these days -- meaning a couple of days river travel. This footage was donated kindly by Emily Hunter and her colleagues who were on a youth-oriented eco trip in West Kalimantan. Other footage that you've seen throughout our campaign was either shot by ourselves on an R&D trip to Indonesia, supplied by our film's characters or stock. We don't have footage to make a film -- only to show prospective financiers what our objectives are.

Beautiful footage and audio mix. Effective editing transition to the destruction. Felt like a bit of an abrupt cut at the end but left me wanting to see more.

Sound seemed a bit off. Was that the actual sound to match the video? Really enjoyed seeing nature without any narration though. Made it seem more like you were there.

You could skip the "once about a time..." The scenery speaks for itself; as does the deconstruction of nature by man at the end
