This is pretty cool. Shows some pretty good stuff and didn't really need dialogue which was good compared to other teams.
Christy L. Posted 5 months ago
I was really into watching the whole mission. It showed different sides of Charlie when he gave back the womans phone and change
Kiki B. Posted 5 months ago
Hands down the best mission this time! Very well done great story, and a nice button on the end. All the best
Bart G. Posted 5 months ago
That's a great piece of visual story telling. The guy is pretty sympathetic after he gives the girl back her phone
Milan S. Posted 5 months ago
Good job on the silent film. Very good story telling i have to admit. Sorry you did not make it further.
Crystal L. Posted 6 months ago
Bons! Pretty cute piece.. I like how it manages to build up likeability for the character, in a situation where he shouldn't be!
Adam M. Posted 6 months ago
Now why would you go and do that? After all I've done for you, Albert, you go and do something like this. Well go fuck yourself.
Mackie B. Posted 6 months ago
There are a lot of things I like about this video. Firstly the sound track is very nice and moody. Secondly I really like the classic East Van restaurant reference. And to top it off you guys are BC filmmakers!
Samson W. Posted 6 months ago
This is by far my favourite Speechless video! Should have been the number one pic if you ask me. Great job guys!
Ashley C. Posted 6 months ago
This one was my favorite by far. Really a shame it didn't get picked. So much story telling with no dialogue and all in ninety seconds. Real fillmaking.
Jackson B. Posted 6 months ago
I think that the shots looked really nice. the pacing was, in my opinion, spot on. this is a cute piece.
Paul J. Posted 6 months ago
This is great, I really learned a lot about Charlie and it also made me chuckle. Definitely one of my favourites
Gael M. Posted 6 months ago
Wow, this sequence totally works for me. The actor is very engaging. I love his presence and his ability to tell so much story with just a look.
Mo G. Posted 6 months ago
Bon's on Broadway. I love how "Vancouver" this movie is! Crook with a heart of gold. HaHa, run Charlie, run!
Ricardo L. Posted 6 months ago
Crazy how he stole from her and gave back to help her to look like a hero....would be great for a commercial lol
Kreme T. Posted 6 months ago
Great choice. Clearly shows the struggle between old choices, new choices and a little lesson learned. Kharma?
Curtis T. Posted 6 months ago
I definitely appreciate the speechless videos that capture some of the story and this one does that well.
Milan S. Posted 6 months ago
I like the way you are telling the story here. Very well done! The music choice is great..it always is important for me. puts a smile on my face.
Alvin D. Posted 6 months ago
Good job guys. Loved the sound design and shots used to create some suspense. You deserve Top 10 for sure!
Andrew Q. Posted 6 months ago
A class act! Great blend of drama, pathos and humour. I don't know any Vancouverites who'd leave their car unlocked in that neighbourhood, though. :)
Alexandra S. Posted 6 months ago
So wonderful. I am in love with your main character. This was beyond awesome!
Mac L. Posted 6 months ago
One of the best Speechless entries! Really nicely told and it's perfectly understandable that no one is talking. Other entries, it was a bit of a stretch.
Glen M. Posted 6 months ago
I wish I didn't have to write 100 characters to describe my feelings about this. IT IS SIMPLY AWESOME!
Becca R. Posted 6 months ago
awesome ! very good job for mission number 5 speechless video want to see the movie for sure. good luck
greg c. Posted 6 months ago
One of the powerful things about movies is that it can put you in a character's shoes while also allowing you a distance to still take larger perspective. This achieves that so beautifully.
Robert J. Posted 6 months ago
You have delivered THE BEST of these hands down. You showed excellent filmmaking skills packing so much emotion, "action", and amusement into a short clip.
Louise R. Posted 6 months ago
Really liked this one, packed so much into a little snippet, loved the way she felt touched that he paid for her parking without realising at first that it was with the money he'd stolen from her haha
Sara S. Posted 6 months ago
Awkward is the word that comes to mind... You feel for the guy, but hope he won't take the phone.. But then he does. All in all great little scene.
Ange M. Posted 6 months ago
Very funny, made you feel sorry for him but awkward as well. Was just his luck for the phone to ring as he's trying to steal it!
Chad M. Posted 6 months ago
Awkward situation but funny stuff. Good choice of music for this scene. Acted nicely by both characters
Laurie S. Posted 6 months ago
So funny, but I felt bad for him too. I was surprised he took the phone, after he paid for the meter (with her change!)
Jeremy L. Posted 7 months ago
well done. thought it was a unique take. I actually didn't expect him to take the phone. But putting money in the meter was a nice touch.
Natalia N. Posted 7 months ago
love the choice of song and the sweet gesture of paying for her meter even though I know 'technically' it was her money.
Layla C. Posted 7 months ago
Even though what he did was wrong he still comes across as such a likeable character. Both actors did a great job
Brandon G. Posted 7 months ago
Ah i've been there before, not quite enough, but $2.95 breakfast, great deal. He could have had the same ring tone.
Adrian B. Posted 7 months ago
Ha Ha I was told this one was really good. Most likeable car thief ever for sure. And well shot. Good Job
Carleigh B. Posted 7 months ago
Very cleaver scene for this mission. You can definitely read the inner life that is happening inside both of the characters.
Joe Y. Posted 7 months ago
Well done. It really hits on that Larry David kind of awkward.. I also like the musical choice for this one.
Martha P. Posted 7 months ago
Great presentation! We learned so much about the characters and were reminded about the humanity in us all. Well done!
Anna T. Posted 7 months ago
Hehe my friends at Post-Apocalyptica told me this was their favourite. It didn't disappoint. Awkwardly funny :)
Andy M. Posted 7 months ago
Love it! Great moment, great revealing of character. Is she charmed? what will happen when will they meet again?
luke k. Posted 7 months ago
Really liked the charactor development and you reall were on the mark with the mission theme. Great job!
Iris B. Posted 7 months ago
I wonder if he ever got his breakfast? And I think she learned that she better lock her doors! Good scene.
Marina N. Posted 7 months ago
I love this scene. It's very simple, yet it says SO MUCH about the main character of your film. Excellent work team Hastings!
Parminder P. Posted 7 months ago
This is excellent! Great way to develop more of Charlie's character. I sure hope he gets a meal in him, he's looking rather weak!
Romy J. Posted 7 months ago
This is so great! Easily my favourite one. Editing and acting is great and I feel bad for Charlie. He just wants some eggs!
Tammy B. Posted 7 months ago
bah ha ha cool scene...steals then helps her out....crazy and shot well but karma is a you know what....cute idea
Jennifer R. Posted 7 months ago
This is by far my favourite. Great job at making us chuckle, while still maintaining Charlie's struggle that was so well protrayed in the synopsis and Trailer. Excellent Work!
Kirsty R. Posted 7 months ago
This one is so amazing! Really gives you a sense of who Charlie is. Great acting, great editing and I love the song. Well Produced!
Ian F. Posted 7 months ago
I think it's an injustice this one didn't win the double bill this week. You followed the mission brilliantly and delivered an emotional payoff.
Kathy M. Posted 7 months ago
Oh this made me feel so bad for him, you really gotta feel for a guy who can't even afford to get breakfast at Bons =(
Geoff W. Posted 7 months ago
This is the first one of these I've actually enjoyed so far, and I really enjoyed it! Although I found it kind of weird that he ran away like that at the end. Also, I know budgets and timing are tight on these things but I kind of wish it'd been filmed in the shade somehow as the sidewalk being kind of blown-out gives it a bit of that video-y feel and from what I've seen, the story deserves our full attention. Well-done, in my opinion!
Diane N. Posted 7 months ago
very entertaining.
Aiden C. Posted 7 months ago
Wow fantastic scene. Really enjoyed every aspect of this scene. Sad and funny. Love the phone gag at the end.
Lindsay B. Posted 7 months ago
Great song choice...loved it against the backdrop of VanCity from Gastown...what was it?
Shane T. Posted 7 months ago
"Keep on Living," by the Greff Band. Great guys who make great music.
David C. Posted 7 months ago
I've always found the best method of flirting with women is to steal their stuff and then nonchalantly give it back to them... lol Good scene
Jamie T. Posted 7 months ago
That's a great bit of story
Justina P. Posted 7 months ago
so nuts, my apartment in literally in this shot! glad you're making van look like van. so easy to mask it as seattle for no reason.
Donal O. Posted 7 months ago
I LOVE THIS MOVIE. Please guys, step up the SM campaign. It matters with Cinecoup and this movie deserves a chance to be made.
CR B. Posted 7 months ago
This was really unexpected for me. I love this clip. Love it. The previous commenter pointed out the music. I agree. Overall it comes together as a tiny little emotion machine. Which. Is. Cinema.
Michelle G. Posted 7 months ago
Nice scene. Good background music. I like that you shot something different for this mission - shows me that you'd actually like to win this.
LeeAnn D. Posted 7 months ago
Hysterical! But isn't this already a feature film? Not sure it qualifies for this competition but it deserves to be on the screen or TV!!!
Pete M. Posted 7 months ago
Great to get a look at Vancouver. I haven't been there in a while. We never get to see it in the movies. This scene was well shot and well told. Great job guys.
Adam O. Posted 7 months ago
The story told here was incredibly captivating. Loved how it showed a more human side to a criminal.
David T. Posted 7 months ago
This is great. So funny and well shot. Didn't even need words, the story told itself. I loved seeing him book it at the end.
Donald Y. Posted 7 months ago
Great clip! The story was clear without words. One of my favourites from this mission.
Jonathan R. Posted 7 months ago
Not a huge Hastings Street fan but I did thoroughly enjoy this scene. Your lead seems believable and the sound score was great. Way to represent with the loon and toon
Aniko K. Posted 7 months ago
Very lovely scene! Your team was able to pull this off very well. It fits with your story and makes for a very cute different look at your main character!
George T. Posted 7 months ago
Great job - you've really given us so much in this tiny clip. I am so rooting for this character now, and I'm enjoying a bit of a chuckle too.
Ben S. Posted 7 months ago
Thats a pretty good twist. It was clear that he was going to get busted and you knew he was going to take the phone, but it caught me anyway.
Jimmy P. Posted 7 months ago
Hahaha. I love that he runs at the end. The whole scene kept me guessing as to what was going to happen! Great job!
Lauren M. Posted 7 months ago
Haha I really liked this!. It's funny and cool. The guy's super cute ;) And so is the girl haha. Good job!
Jenna M. Posted 7 months ago
This scene was pretty funny. The ending made it. The awkwardness showed up without using any words. Good job
John K. Posted 7 months ago
nice scene. awkward scene.. Well written and acted. This is my favorite mission of yours so far - keep at it.
Leta P. Posted 7 months ago
Good video! I like how you are able to tell this story in such an awkward situation! Keep it up. Good Luck
Monique M. Posted 7 months ago
i have mixed feelings.. i guess this would have been better if there was dialogue, but the lead actor did a good job.
Dana B. Posted 7 months ago
Awww Very cute scene! I think this would be a tought scene to pull of with no dialogue, but you guys were able to do it very well!
Reel F. Posted 7 months ago
Haha, very brilliant scene that required no words... awkward! Great way to develop your character.
Brent L. Posted 7 months ago
Lol. I'll be honest that I didn't watch the trailer but this character seems like an odd creep that made me laugh
Björn H. Posted 7 months ago
I wouldn't say it showed off skill in sound editing or cine as some of the other videos but it does make your main character seem more complex than I felt he was in the trailer. Pretty good
Kristie M. Posted 7 months ago
Loved this! It had me guessing what he was going to do. Really shows off your character well. Willing to do what it takes to survive, but still cares enough to give back.
Jeff P. Posted 7 months ago
Good music choice, and acting. It seems authentic. Funny ending to it. Camera shots seem pretty real
Ruxandra R. Posted 7 months ago
hahaha, what an awkward situation! This was well shot. Seems quite professional. This minute of your film was very cute. Well done.
Ingrid S. Posted 7 months ago
Vancouver with the sunshine is always so beautiful. I like this idea. It made me laugh when the phone rang in the actor's pocket. I thought I saw him smile, I am not sure if that fit into context, but overall i like this video.
Jeff U. Posted 7 months ago
A nice little scene that definitely displays some of the internal conflict that Charlie has. Hard to break the old familiar habits, but he's trying...
Andrea S. Posted 7 months ago
Great job guys! I really enjoyed how the little story unravelled, you would never think haha. Some of Charlie's colours show in the clip.
Gina . Posted 7 months ago
This was a great mission, your team did an excellent job displaying his character. Fully invested throughout the whole video. Good job!
Norma H. Posted 7 months ago
I do find this interesting concept. CineCoup is really making us work in order to earn votes. I am hopeful that your movie makes it into the next round
Siobhan W. Posted 7 months ago
Good take on an awkward situation, but thought she would react more to someone breaking into her car.
Jody M. Posted 7 months ago
That was great. You know the phone would come into play, but I didn't expect the result. Great work.
Tawni B. Posted 7 months ago
Old habits die hard. I could see the struggle for him. He does seem to be trying to turn himself around. It must be hard to have to start back at zero. I did feel bad for him, I want him to succeed.
GJR Superfan ^.^
Penny E. Posted 7 months ago
I liked this one because your emotions went from feeling sorry for him to being shocked to surprised. Good facial expressions.
Kendall R. Posted 7 months ago
Great job! Honestly one of the best speechless missions out there. Loved the way you showed different sides of this character.
Jennifer M. Posted 7 months ago
I really enjoyed this. I had not originally watched your trailer, but this definitely makes me want to go back and do so.
Róise M. Posted 7 months ago
this was great loved how it kept me guessing the whole time did not expect the outcome at the end keep it up :)
Jeff C. Posted 7 months ago
haha didn't expect this at all - love the twist at the end and just when I thought something cliche was gonna happen, you went the other way! Nice work!
Kyle B. Posted 7 months ago
This is one of my favourites by far!!! Really funny at the end. Both actors were amazing!!! Great job!
Jay R. Posted 7 months ago
This was so well done. The dimension added to your concept with this scene make s me really want to see this movie - top ten for sure.
Vik M. Posted 7 months ago
Sooooooo good!!!! I thought he didn't steal the phone! And the way he runs away at the end... very nicely done!
Emily R. Posted 7 months ago
Best mission I've seen so far. This was awesome, you guys!! Great dynamic on the character. Better make top ten.
Derek H. Posted 7 months ago
I really enjoyed this little clip. The character is believable. I enjoyed the twist at the end. Well done!
Afzal H. Posted 7 months ago
This was amazing!!! What a great character and a wonderful twist in the narrative. It's a short film on its own. Bravo!!!
Sarah B. Posted 7 months ago
Of the Speechless missions I've seen so far, this is the first to give a sense of interaction between characters. Nice work!
Jonny V. Posted 7 months ago
Great scene! The expressions on the performers faces were priceless when the phone rang. Keep it up!
Tara D. Posted 7 months ago
The scene was fun and quirky! Drew me in wanting to find out more about Charlie's story and where he is heading. Great job!
John G. Posted 7 months ago
hahaha this one made me laugh so hard, he was so casual about the situation and then just took off running. Hilarious.
Sharon L. Posted 7 months ago
I didn't care for the music, but loved the scene you can really see him struggling to do what's right I would have preferred to see him hand her the phone shru and walk off not run
Jessie F. Posted 7 months ago
HA! Didn't see that ending coming.
patricia s. Posted 7 months ago
great story love the music
Gregory H. Posted 7 months ago
Can't say I'm in love with the music choice, but that's probably just nitpicking. Great scene. Really good insight into who he is as a person.
Jenny P. Posted 7 months ago
Love this!
Jenna R. Posted 7 months ago
Hahaha! I love me some Bon's breakfast too! There was some really unique story telling here. I got a sense of who this man is in a short period of time.
sarah s. Posted 7 months ago
Loved this, great cast, clear story and character intentions.
Naomi T. Posted 7 months ago
Love this - it came off as a tender moment without being cheesy. And the fact that he ran away at the end was a nice touch.
Ronna W. Posted 7 months ago
Good camera angles and facial expressions - while it showed the character's struggle to do the right thing, and we could sense that tension within him, I think it would have been even more effective had he done it without the phone going off.
Norma H. Posted 7 months ago
You could see his struggle but then decided to do the right thing. Great!
Jovanna B. Posted 7 months ago
Great scene guys!
Carolyn v. Posted 7 months ago
Good choice of music and well shot. You conveyed the character's motivation right away and his struggle to do the right thing. Nice work!
Lynn A. Posted 7 months ago
I really like this a lot, liked the music no dia but story is there loud and clear well done
Cruella D. Posted 7 months ago
Loved the music. Wanted to see more..which is a good thing. Even with no dialogue a story was told. Yup it was speechless. Way to go !!!
Jake C. Posted 7 months ago
Great beats in this scene. Well cast and believable, nice work. Loved her reaction and how he just booted it after giving her phone back.
Paul T. Posted 7 months ago
Wow - really great scene. You gave us a character to root for, a slice of his situation with one shot, and then put is in his shoes contemplating his dilemma. Love! - Paul (Team Starkers)
John L. Posted 7 months ago
Good versus bad, need versus conscience, right versus wrong. A daily struggle well told. Loved this scene!
aaron b. Posted 7 months ago
It was a funny scene, one I actually thought was funny instead of just being silly for no reason. good job
jane D. Posted 7 months ago
awesome. Great scene!
Dana B. Posted 7 months ago
Nice scene, set up and acting. Almost feels like you already shot this entire movie...
Janine F. Posted 7 months ago
haha! Love it. Well done guys.
Chris N. Posted 7 months ago
awesome. Great scene!
Romano M. Posted 7 months ago
Thought this one was very funny. Did a great job with everything! Couldn't help but enjoy it. So best of luck!
Enigma A. Posted 7 months ago
Good illumination of the character struggling to put his past behind him, getting caught up in old habits, trying to halfheartedly make amends and getting caught out in anycase...wonder if the pattern will repeat but leaving him in more dire circumstances than before
Gianna I. Posted 7 months ago
Haha great job with this one! Thought it was funny & the music fits perfectly. (Team Rosalind Revenge)
Michael M. Posted 7 months ago
I liked the humour in this. You told a little story well in the ninety seconds you were allotted. Is it a scene you already had, or just made for this mission?
Joseph T. Posted 7 months ago
Excellent stuff boys! I wouldn't have expected anything different from this project! Hard scene to do with no dialogue, but it was pulled off very effectively!
Liam C. Posted 7 months ago
Very charming
