great acting here. very powerful. great work on this mission guys! love the twist and the atmosphere you've created
James D. Posted 5 months ago
I didn't see that coming. Interesting plot twist.
Bren K. Posted 5 months ago
This looks really good excellent work team. It's no wonder that you made it as far as you have. Keep up the good work!
sharon j. Posted 5 months ago
I agree with Valerie, the sound design is fantastic in this! the acting in this is also very powerful. great job all around!!
Valerie M. Posted 5 months ago
The sound design for this is wonderful, really helps draw me in to this mans morning, and the decision he is about to make - well done:)
Crystal V. Posted 5 months ago
That looks pretty intense. Makes me want to see the conclusion, and whether or not he can go back to a normal life.
Scott C. Posted 5 months ago
Great camera work. I love the tight long shots. Amazing story telling. YOu are pros! Go SCAM Top5 Go!!
David U. Posted 5 months ago
Very cool! Amazing storytelling for a silent scene. Very well done, you guys are going places, just great!
Lee V. Posted 5 months ago
Well that escalated quickly. What I thought was a sad and lonely moment for a man, rapidly turns into something out of a Saw movie. Bravo for surprising me there.
Richard Z. Posted 5 months ago
the complete package evolves with not a word spoken. The story's silence has an effect on all human feelins and senses.captivating ,bold and viseral
Natalie T. Posted 5 months ago
This is my favorite silent sequence mission. Such a great way of telling the story. I love the angles you chose, the stillness and length of the close up showts..just great! good job!
Mike Q. Posted 5 months ago
Oh yeah, Wolf Cop has some competition too....
Jacna J. Posted 5 months ago
I really like this concept. I'd love to see this full film along with some of the other film ideas in the competition.
Christy L. Posted 5 months ago
I really like this idea It grabs your attention. Its differnent because you used older characters, compared to 20-30 year olds
victor l. Posted 5 months ago
I like what seems to be an ordinary day, with powerful motif to suggest serious action to come. An advance thought!
Scott G. Posted 5 months ago
I like what Darren said, you really feel for the guy who seems to be living a tragic life but then the reveal is so startling
Kim M. Posted 5 months ago
Wow!
Darren F. Posted 5 months ago
It's so painful, obviously something happened to his girls in the picture, and you feel sad for the man, then you feel terrified of him. Well done, very intriguing.
Cyndi F. Posted 5 months ago
I really like this concept. I'd love to see this full film along with some of the other film ideas in the competition.
Amber M. Posted 5 months ago
Makes my heart bleed..and then ..the twist! Exciting stuff!
Peggy S. Posted 5 months ago
Yeah, I agree with Jenna. You've already got an engaging story (from what I can tell) but it seems that you guys know how to tell that story in an intriguing way as well
Jenna V. Posted 5 months ago
If a viewer had no idea what this movie was about, the last few seconds of this film would be a huge twist, which I think is awesome. Top 5, here you come!!
Pam A. Posted 5 months ago
I love the way you guys shot this! Makes you wonder what he will do. Awesome work and best of luck on getting into the top five!
Heather O. Posted 5 months ago
It has been really interesting following the missions and seeing what each team will come up with. Good luck on the next round of voting.
Mikaela Z. Posted 5 months ago
Spectacular, guys. Here's a man with some secrets, not to mention a guy tied up and bloodied in his basement, haha. Ugh, that's actually not very funny at all
MAK138 K. Posted 5 months ago
very intriguing!
Robyn R. Posted 5 months ago
by far the most riveting thing I have seen on here for this assignment, a great piece where I am drawn in to this mans world...
Bart G. Posted 5 months ago
Great sequence. Very tragic and tense.
kael v. Posted 5 months ago
Very good cinematography. And I really liked the rack focus shots. Very interesting. The music was very good for this scene.
Celene C. Posted 5 months ago
Reminds of an old movie in the 70's of a vigilante, definitely got my attention.
Sunny K. Posted 5 months ago
Definitely intrigued by this project. I like the choice to see him preparing himself. It fit well with the speechless challenge.
Rob V. Posted 5 months ago
I'm picking SCAM to go thru to the top 5. Well done. I'm looking forward to seeing the full movie.
Milan S. Posted 5 months ago
What a great way to tell the story. Very interesting and long close ups bring us right into the man's world.
Rob E. Posted 5 months ago
Oh, man, I had no idea where this was going until right up to the very end. Very engaging performance, well done
Jolene K. Posted 5 months ago
I like the way this was put together...very interesting
Sandra l. Posted 5 months ago
Hey I love the set in this sequence, between that and the lighting it really creates a great mood. Good luck!
David S. Posted 5 months ago
Wow, what a spectacular performance. Who is the actor? What else has he been in. I love the tension in this sequence
Jen E. Posted 5 months ago
The older man pulls up a chair and sits in silence as his captive begs to be released. The scammer begs and begs and begs while his captor sits in contemplative silence. The scammer begins to grow tired until he too is silent. The older man then stands suddenly, leaving to go to the upper level of his home. He returns with a white cup and a black cup, both filled with steaming tea. "You see these two cups? I always made one for my wife." A silence is shared between them before he continues. "She's gone now, because she got in a situation with a scammer, just like yourself." He sets the cup down next to his captive before sipping on the tea in his own cup. "As soon as my wife's cup of tea stops steaming, I'm going to deal with you," he says, stepping away from his chair, heading once more upstairs. "When that tea gets cold, I'm going to kill you."
Kerri S. Posted 5 months ago
The plot thickens, revenge is near. Love the acting, you can really reel the apprehension in the elderly guy who wants to take vengeance. And yet the real fear of what he has done and what he will do!
AJ J. Posted 5 months ago
This is super creepy. Your actor is fantastic. so moody, tells so much story with just a look. I love the payoff at the end
Brenden K. Posted 5 months ago
What a fantastic scene! Great job. It worked extremely well. I'm interested to see where you guys go next!
Doug M. Posted 5 months ago
I will watch to see how this progresses. The basement revelation seems to substantiate the preparation that the shave and coffee breakdown indicate has been in progress before the coffee moment of decision.
Donald Y. Posted 6 months ago
This was a difficult trailer to make. It does not show why the person is tied in the basement, within the trailer. It shows the result without showing the cause. But it has good things in cinematography, music and editing.
Zombetty B. Posted 6 months ago
Great idea for a movie. I think overall you've made some great decisions--even down to the acting--looking forward to what's next!
Patrick S. Posted 6 months ago
Thanks. So are we!
Crystal L. Posted 6 months ago
Loved this speechless scene..I like the tension that builds up and seeing the end was pretty creepy. Even more creepy that he looks like a nice old grandfather..
Patrick S. Posted 6 months ago
Vince Metcalfe, the Grandfather character is so great in this.
Meaghan D. Posted 6 months ago
I love this story line. acting is very well done, music goes well with the mood. You can see he`s ready to fight for what is his.
Patrick S. Posted 6 months ago
Right? His sense of determination is palpable.
Melissa W. Posted 6 months ago
This just shows how, while words are important, they are not necessary to convey emotions or thoughts. I felt exactly what the man was feeling, his conflict registered, his pain was evident. You can tell that he is not a bad man (despite the man in his basement). He is a desperate one, needing to fix a very unfortunate situation. I can tell that with this movie, you aren't really going to ever know for sure who the bad guy is....the old man trying to get his money back or the scam artist who set him up. I think we're meant to be conflicted. And I think this team may actually be able to pull that sort of reaction in an audience off. Congrats guys.
Patrick S. Posted 6 months ago
Thanks so much! As a production team we were always fascinated with the moral compass of perceived criminals and what makes them choose crime. This movie is an extension of that curiosity. It started with our original play, "Felony" at the Vancouver Fringe Festival.
Maikol P. Posted 6 months ago
It was interesting to see how this was set up. It did feel a bit expected, only because we knew about the premise in the trailer. If we didn't know about the plot twist provided in the trailer, this scene would have been so much more dramatic.
Patrick S. Posted 6 months ago
It was fascinating to have to put together a scene form the movie, being conscious of what limited knowledge the audience already had about our story, and needing to tie it up neatly in 90 seconds.
Paul J. Posted 6 months ago
This is pretty creepy, looks pretty good overall, but still not sure if I'm sold on the idea for a feature. Seems like a cool short
Patrick S. Posted 6 months ago
It actually has felt like shooting a series of shorts for 24-hour film festivals every week.
Mo G. Posted 6 months ago
Oh, man, that's sort of creepy. I love it. Can't wait to see the full scene in the basement. A similar thing happened to my grandfather.
Patrick S. Posted 6 months ago
Sorry to hear about your Grandfather. Part of this films is a tribute to Elders like him.
Jean Marc S. Posted 6 months ago
Loved the camera movement, and music! Acting was really good, strong imaging, message came across strong!
Patrick S. Posted 6 months ago
Silence does seem to invoke strong imagery, doesn't it?
Tory A. Posted 6 months ago
How a simple life can change so much. It's scary because this trailer shows how realistic this scenario can be.
Patrick S. Posted 6 months ago
It's sometimes scary to think about what people are capable of is pushed far enough.
Vance A. Posted 6 months ago
This is so great! The story is as sharp as that straight edge he so deftly yields. I'm so glad that you focused in on this part of the story. Shows you have great skill. Best of luck to you.
Patrick S. Posted 6 months ago
Love the analogy, Vance. Thank you!
Milan S. Posted 6 months ago
You are telling the store here so well. I love how you show the conflict the old man is in. Amazing close up shots. the music compliments this story. I am very curious to see what happens. the detail of the family photo adds to this..Great work!
Patrick S. Posted 6 months ago
Thanks Milan. I appreciate your kind words. We're lucky enough to work with really talented artists.
FilmFan F. Posted 6 months ago
Sometimes you don't need words to get your point across. I liked the camera work and the music. The actor had me riveted.
Patrick S. Posted 6 months ago
Sometimes words get in the way. Don't you think?
Oskar W. Posted 6 months ago
That's interesting. I'm curious about how you plan to take this further. I'm re-watching all sorts of entries, start to finish. I wish I had watched the trailer before I watched your speechless video.
Patrick S. Posted 6 months ago
It's interesting to watch a scene from any story without the context. Isn't it?
Alexandra S. Posted 6 months ago
Makes me want to see the movie. I love the trailer and love the Speechless video too. Looking forward to seeing what else this team has to offer!
Patrick S. Posted 6 months ago
Me too! These missions really keep us guessing.
Loretta W. Posted 6 months ago
Really creates a mystery and anticipation to find out what comes next.
Patrick S. Posted 6 months ago
It does raise a lot of questions. This was a cool mission to put together.
Timario M. Posted 6 months ago
A little less impressed than i was with the trailer vid, but i still love the concept of a regular guy getting back at the guy who screwed him over ... He looks so unassuming and he is obviously very conflicted about it. A good rampup.
Patrick S. Posted 6 months ago
Thanks for the honest feedback!
Kevin C. Posted 6 months ago
I enjoy the lighting and the overall direction. Interesting idea and fairly well done. Look forward to seeing more.
Filip S. Posted 6 months ago
looks good high production value, I would be interested in seeing the whole film. It captures the hurt emotion and takes a drastic trun,
Patrick S. Posted 6 months ago
It really shows that any violence he committed comes from how hurt he was...
jane D. Posted 6 months ago
very well done
Patrick S. Posted 6 months ago
Thanks! We got to work with a talented team.
Sabrina S. Posted 6 months ago
The camara angles are great and the plot line really grabs your attention. I really like the set as well.
Patrick S. Posted 6 months ago
Thanks! The location really worked out well.
Zhong Z. Posted 6 months ago
With the pace and visual cues, you wonder at the depth of this man's loss. We empathize and anxiously await his 'solution'--wow
Patrick S. Posted 6 months ago
The pace was dictated in part by the format of the mission. Glad it worked out!
Cameron W. Posted 6 months ago
great scene--seems he's just recently captured the scammer and is thinking and deciding and then...is resolved--wow
Patrick S. Posted 6 months ago
It was a fun scene to work on.
William F. Posted 6 months ago
really like the pace of this; doesn't get hurried along and the intensity draws you in, and you're riveted...waiting
Patrick S. Posted 6 months ago
Jeff's edit was brilliantly crafted/
Jeremy L. Posted 7 months ago
I really liked seeing the other side to the story. From the "victims" point of view. Seeing the motivation behind the choice.
Patrick S. Posted 6 months ago
That's the interesting question, isn't it? How far has he been pushed?
Niko M. Posted 7 months ago
Very well done!
Patrick S. Posted 6 months ago
Thanks!
Mac L. Posted 7 months ago
Very well done!
Patrick S. Posted 6 months ago
Thank you! Hope you keep watching.
Ann B. Posted 7 months ago
wow, this is impressive - love the way it builds and with lots of little telling details. this man is feeling so much, and we feel it too
Patrick S. Posted 6 months ago
The mood really does pull you in to his world, doesn't it?
Nikki S. Posted 7 months ago
Nice, clean, simple, and engaging I think this is a great example of how to use a mission - to tell more about the story and fully embracing the challenge.
Patrick S. Posted 6 months ago
Thanks! In retrospect, his was one of my favorite assignments so far.
Emily H. Posted 7 months ago
I agree looks like lots of effort in this mission good work getting the story through I can just see him contemplating what is next over that cup of coffee, and then oh wow the guy in the basement YIKES and great camera work
Patrick S. Posted 6 months ago
Jeff and Alex a ROCKSTARS behind the camera. Talented story-tellers!
Hugh P. Posted 7 months ago
seemed like there was a lot of work put into that mission, it actually seemed better then the trailer
Patrick S. Posted 6 months ago
Thx. It's a great compliment to the trailer, don't you think?
Shaun R. Posted 7 months ago
great job on this mission you guys had a great concept behind a very powerful scene keep up the great work
Kari W. Posted 7 months ago
i felt this was very well put together the concept was really nice and the focus was dead on for the scene play out
jack k. Posted 7 months ago
Lighting, acting, music, setting all well put together. Looking forward to seeing wayyy more from you all.
Natalia N. Posted 7 months ago
I liked the ending how you guys flashed in and out of the guys face. Intense emotions. Great acting on both sides
Iris B. Posted 7 months ago
I really like the story in this trailer. A compelling lead for sure. I liked the shaving scene - the straight edge was a nice touch.
Jon K. Posted 7 months ago
It's so ambiguous, that feeling of knowing -or not- who the bad guy really is and who really deserves to be locked in that basement. Well done, great music and tension! All the best guys! -Jon, team 'Guillermo'
Patrick S. Posted 6 months ago
Thanks Jon! Good luck to you. Hope you're still watching, man.
Treena U. Posted 7 months ago
Huh, there is so much more I need to know! The scammer sure picked the wrong person. What's his plans...
Patrick S. Posted 6 months ago
I wonder if he even knows...
olive f. Posted 7 months ago
beautifully shot and acted. music is excellent. emotionally wrenching as you feel this man's anguish, and determination
Steve B. Posted 7 months ago
nice
Shannon M. Posted 7 months ago
Great cinematography and I like the music, you managed to say a lot with no words, that's not easy!!
Tawni B. Posted 7 months ago
My heart just broke for that man. Where is his family? He should give that scammer what he deserves. Buddy does look scared out of his freakin mind, good! You got a strong emotion reaction outta me. Good job!
Patrick S. Posted 6 months ago
Thanks!
Jennifer R. Posted 7 months ago
This guy must have gotten scammed really hard to want to all of a sudden murder this guy, but his acting is good.
Patrick S. Posted 6 months ago
Is he gonna murder him?
Mac L. Posted 7 months ago
Looking good!
Geoff W. Posted 7 months ago
Fantastic variation of shots to build tension, and performance from your actor! Can't wait to see it. Is the black cup his wife's? Thought it might have been good to see one last shot of the old man silhouetted to communicate the "darkness that has overcome him", as well as some more visual demonstrations of what he's perhaps lost... maybe a super-wide of him alone? also, maybe we could have been treated to some suspense by one or two shots making us wonder "what's behind that door? what's downstairs?" The shaving stuff is beautiful but might not serve the story, at least not if not intercut with things that heighten tension (or shot in macro a la Dexter, as you guys seem ready and willing to do ;)
Patrick S. Posted 6 months ago
Thanks for watching so closely! Great ideas.
Patrick C. Posted 7 months ago
The first half played a little fast, and I wasn't sure where it was going, but finished off strong. Good work guys and keep it up.
Patrick S. Posted 6 months ago
90 seconds. Time-limits are trick sometimes :)
Ashley H. Posted 7 months ago
Your trailer intrigued me, but left me feeling unfulfilled. This did more of the same. I think I'm a fan, but I'm not 100% sure yet ;)
Patrick S. Posted 6 months ago
Thanks for sticking around... we're trying to win you over!
Tina B. Posted 7 months ago
I would've liked to see more of the "dark" side than the "sad and lonely" side of your guy. How is capable of the bad stuff?
Misha G. Posted 7 months ago
i like the focus on familiar, tactile sensation in this piece. The shot set-up is okay, but some (like the coffee cup) seem forced.
Oliver R. Posted 7 months ago
Love the cinematography in this short
Jolene S. Posted 7 months ago
I am more interested in this film with each mission completed. Being kept in a basement also freaks me out. The actor looks terrified!
XinLi H. Posted 7 months ago
A simple scene with no dialogue, no lines tells us more than we need to know. Silence speaks for itself!
Derek B. Posted 7 months ago
This builds a whole lot of mystery and suspense with some simple moments. And then the payoff at the end is very dark.
No K. Posted 7 months ago
Now that he had coffee he is going to beat the pulp out of the guy who scammed him. It will be interesting to see how long it takes
Patrick S. Posted 7 months ago
lol!
Rogel D. Posted 7 months ago
Great camera work and acting. Storytelling is very detailed and well told. Would love to see the full film!
Donald Y. Posted 7 months ago
I was scared by this short. Any time I see a straight razor, I sense fear. I liked the way it was put together.
Terran B. Posted 7 months ago
Amazing job. Great camera work and acting. Storytelling is very detailed and well told. Would love to see the full film!
Casey G. Posted 7 months ago
Some great elements in this mission video. I like the quick shaving montage, followed by the moment of painful reflection.
Iwona b. Posted 7 months ago
Crime and punishment in the best movie form. Like old man cool acting. Good sound and editing. This movie would serve as perfect warning.
Colin T. Posted 7 months ago
everything about this was very well done. And i need to know how this ends now. I still think i'd be cheering for the old man.
Benoit C. Posted 7 months ago
so, so, so eerie. Nicely built! If I didn't know the context I would think the old man is in reality the bad guy or the villain.. dont become a monster in order to defeat one
Brent C. Posted 7 months ago
Great camera work and concept. Old man justice, reminds me of Gran Torino or Harry Brown, but different context. If I'm to be critical though, this mission by itself it almost looks like a horror. Maybe I'm just too squeamish :P. The role reversal is good, but now the young man is too much a victim. I think we still want to sympathize with the old man, even though he's become the villain. I this is helpful! #lakecop
Patrick S. Posted 7 months ago
Haha. My thoughts exactly! If we had more time, we would have the "interrogation" dynamic more civil. Thanks for the honest feedback, though. G'luck fellas!
Paula B. Posted 7 months ago
Really liked how close and personal the beginning of this was. I would be interested in seeing it if you spent more time with each of his actions. Being so close to someone when they are going about their everyday business is exciting.
Debs P. Posted 7 months ago
very impressive - the actor is truly professional. I like the slow build up to the climax twist at the end.
Nikki W. Posted 7 months ago
Senior actors always seem to have amazing acting abilities. I love the little twist at the end. Perfect piece to represent the story!
Jenna M. Posted 7 months ago
I think the use of your camera, and the acting in this scene was excellent. It creates suspense, and captivates the audience.
Michael L. Posted 7 months ago
Great cinematography. Good acting. I really like your premise too -- something about it REALLY strikes a chord. I hope your script really capitalizes on the generational gap that exists between these two men. I also hope you've planned for the man in the basement to be sympathetic too. Keep up the interesting work and great job on this week's mission! -- [Mr. Tom]
Patrick S. Posted 7 months ago
Thanks Michael. It's an inspiring topic for us... one of those stories that just pulls the creative out of you. You've hit the nail on the head... the guy in the basement is actually our protagonist in some sense. Loving your work, too!
Milan J. Posted 7 months ago
Well done gents, definitely an interesting piece, I like the way you present the morning contemplation for him:)
Shaelyn L. Posted 7 months ago
The lighting, the acting, the directing, the editing- everything! It all adds up to make this scene really awesome. Looking forward to more from you guys :)
John K. Posted 7 months ago
Really lovely scene. Great directing and acting Sound was solid and a good score. Looking for big things with this project.
Nelson L. Posted 7 months ago
Beautifully shot. The score really worked for me. Great execution team. Pleasantly surprised at the end to be taken away from the contemplative tone into the suspense.
Darren R. Posted 7 months ago
Love the actor in this ... great acting range. Very well thought out to display the timeline with the shot sequence. It definitely draws you into the story and wondering what it would be like being in that position. You finally catch up with what you were after ... now what. Tests out your real character if you can go through with your thoughts. #absolutionmovie
Curtis B. Posted 7 months ago
Makes you wonder what he is thinking, what is next, dozens of things come to my mind. I assure you they are not nice! Makes me want to guess and see how close I am to what the writer had envisioned.
Sarah L. Posted 7 months ago
Interesting, I get nervous when I see those razors. I loved the actor...you can feel his distress and conflict.
Ingrid S. Posted 7 months ago
I really like this silent sequence. I think whenever characters are shown in private moments, it makes the movie more interesting, because it is very intimate. Very well shot. Like this a lot!
Super A. Posted 7 months ago
Wow! I want to see this movie! Looks very professional. Great cinematography, love the colouring and very captivating storytelling. I have goosebumps! Who does your sound? I love the choice of the minimal crescendo music with all the effects, it creates great suspense...way to go!! I cant wait to see this in theatres!
Ryan B. Posted 7 months ago
I would have liked that first shot to have been a little slower. it really says it all about a mans life going sideways.
Andrea S. Posted 7 months ago
great storytelling, cinematography and acting. The sound with the music is fantastic, it gave me goose bumps. I swear! This is the best silent film pitch i have seen, and i have watched almost all of them! Way to go!!
Siobhan W. Posted 7 months ago
Really enjoyed this clip. Found it easy to understand the story, and feel the pain of his loss. I liked the set up of the scene.
Matty G. Posted 7 months ago
I really dig the bleak emptiness of the old man's life. Good on ya homies!
Amy F. Posted 7 months ago
Very well done. I can really get a sense of whats going through this mans head even without words. Can't wait to see more
Bari D. Posted 7 months ago
Looking good guys. Are the actors those you know or did you go through the hiring process of finding those suitable for your film? I like the old mans approach of taking care of a scam artist. Interesting to see more
peter m. Posted 7 months ago
Love it, I love the inner turmoil the old man is clearly going through trying to deal with this SCAM!
Georgia M. Posted 7 months ago
Wow, loved the straight razor. I have a feeling that may come into play later in the film. Don't mess with the older generation, they're far WISER (and more devious) than you!
Mac L. Posted 7 months ago
Looking good!
Su P. Posted 7 months ago
I agree with Afzal H you guys are an amazing and talented team. Obviously have a lot of experience in storey telling through film.
Carolyn K. Posted 7 months ago
I enjoyed getting insight into the character - what leads him to fight back against the scammer? Family, loss, desperation...He's torn about his decision to act but determined to follow through. Can't wait to have more from you. Appear to be a team to be taken seriously!
Michelle G. Posted 7 months ago
Nicely done! You've definitely shown us your range and that you're quite a capable team. Great acting by your lead and nicely tied into the trailer at the end.
Afzal H. Posted 7 months ago
Love the visuals AND the edit AND the music. You guys are an amazing team with so much talent. Really, great storytelling. I love the shot in the dinning room - it's perfectly balanced with all the elements and how the two cups are emphasized by the line of the staircase that further divides the perspective showing duality. BRAVO!
Mara F. Posted 7 months ago
I really look farward to where the movie goes from here? what will he do with the guy down stairs? Where does the money go?
mirdy p. Posted 7 months ago
Nice work, You can tell that the director put a lot of thought into location and props!I look forward to seeing more.
Matt P. Posted 7 months ago
shot really well. and thought the two coffee cups was an excellent way to show his struggle, and to remind us all that someone was in the basement. nice work - team Post-Apocalyptica
Sharon L. Posted 7 months ago
Loved the lighting in the kitchen scene, good acting you can really feel he is struggling with what has transired, can't wait to see more
Mary G. Posted 7 months ago
Scam is so beautifully shot, and acted I feel like it's standard is so high, it should already be in theatres!
Darren p. Posted 7 months ago
I think this mission is done very well and captures the turmoil the character is experiencing. I also like the lighting.
Jaden N. Posted 7 months ago
The soundtrack really ads to this. It really helps build the suspense of what is about to happen next.
Mikaela C. Posted 7 months ago
By the end of this I really felt conflicted on who the real victim was -- good work! I like being made to question my own morals. -- Team Rabbit
Josh P. Posted 7 months ago
You are very good with camera angles.. very good shots and effects. I liked the mood very suspensful
Jordan P. Posted 7 months ago
I think that this is well done. Y ou guys have good film techniques and very good lighting skills. loved the mood created by it
miranda k. Posted 7 months ago
That was really nicley put together. Its amazing what sound and editing can do to make you feel what the director and producer had in mind. The camara guys were skilled in the shots and lighting they used.
Gregory F. Posted 7 months ago
This is shaping up to be a phenomenal looking movie you guys. So many beautifully shot sequences give it a really great quality. Can't wait to see more.
Jason G. Posted 7 months ago
The black cup was weird. Was it supposed to represent good/evil? Was it his wife's cup whose life was ruined? Did he forget to do the dishes the night before? Tough to say! But I'm hooked lads!
Patrick S. Posted 7 months ago
I love that you're asking the question... Thanks for watching...
Jason G. Posted 7 months ago
Your hard work is really paying off! Congrats on the Top 40 guys! Looking forward to watching you continue.
Natalie B. Posted 7 months ago
I think the way he wakes up and stays so still in bed is very unnatural. Hurting someone in that way is also unnatural. So the beginning and end of this trailer come together very nicely.
Benjamin O. Posted 7 months ago
I enjoyed the black cup, white cup scene. Really made me wonder what was in that black cup? Good work.
Stephanie M. Posted 7 months ago
This was great. The way it showed the main character going through his daily routine with a bit of a heavier feeling than most days really came through. The video left me wanting to know what happens next. Great job!
Amy Z. Posted 7 months ago
Great job. The main actor does such a fantastic job. This story and work is fantastic with and without words.
Reel F. Posted 7 months ago
Really liked this one, liked how it uses style in service of building your character and the conflict of your story.
Mateusz M. Posted 7 months ago
It was great! My English sucks so I write something smart in my language: Najprościej ujmując, to było genialne. Muzyka sprawia, że ogląda się to w pełnym skupieniu, na jednym oddechu! Awesome:)
Patrick S. Posted 7 months ago
This is my favorite comment ever! What language is this so I can use Google translate on it?
Mateusz M. Posted 7 months ago
Polish:)
Patrick S. Posted 7 months ago
Dziękujemy! Keep watching... lots more fun stuff to come. -Team SCAM
Thomas A. Posted 7 months ago
Great scene, really well acted! I really felt the sense of confict with the character. It seems he's a man of principle and possibly integrity?
Nickolas B. Posted 7 months ago
...the folley...the soundtrack...and the silence kept me engaged the whole time, I felt like I was right there with that person in the kitchen wondering what's going to happen next. Great composition...rather...great everything team Scam!

BAM! Nice! I thoroughly enjoyed that! Makes me want to see more! Keep 'em coming!

Coooool. I like this a lot. Leaves you wondering. Shot's are great. Love the use of depth. Really nicely done. Team - PA

Great job of building tension through music and giving the actor space to emote. The dissolve into the picture frame was a nice choice. Kudos.
Chris N. Posted 7 months ago
I really saw him conflicted about the path he'd set upon. The tension was excruciating. Well done
Janine F. Posted 7 months ago
That was really beautiful. Excellent pacing and buildup with the perfect music to go with it. Well done.

This is one of my favorite sequences. The way you guys start it off as something very routine and how it builds to something very important. Great job!!

Great cutting with this one, guys, and really nice close-ups too. Very strong stuff and a great hook at the end. Kudos!

GREAT use of the soundtrack to underline the suspense...we know he's contemplating SOMETHING heavy. The reveal tells us the character has crossed a threshhold but your instincts to hold back on what he's resolved to do just raise the stakes even further. Great job all around

I didn't care much for the music, clip looks a bit creepy and suspenseful hope it delivers on that in the final product

There is a very "the-calm-before-the-storm" feeling here. Effectively creepy. Very well put together. I'd like to see more.

Enjoyed the sequence you put together going from the close-ups to the wider shots. The sound design worked well in this clip.

Interesting - really like the use of sound. The contrast of the main floor with the basement also made an impact.
Douglas H. Posted 7 months ago
Intense and I like the way it builds and creates the old guy's character. I think the mood is well established. (over 90 secs?)

Great work Team Scam!

Cool storytelling. I found the setting a little sterile - would have been nice if it had felt like a real home, then boom, there's a guy tied up in the basement. Like the roll focus from the man to the photo of his family.

Really liked the choice of music here and the way different sounds (i.e., the water, zipper, cupboard) were accentuated.

Nicely put together. Tense and interesting. Cuts well and definitely tells us about who is waking up and how tough he is. (Life of a Locksmith.)

This came together really well. So lucky to collaborate with such talented artists this week. Shout out to Jeff Ong, Alex Chiang and Adam Nigro.

Loved the white cup black cup thing. Lookin good.

This guy is a strong actor. He really reminds of the Trinity killer from Dexter. The frames per second looked a little bit odd for a few shots.
Patrick S. Posted 7 months ago
I noticed that too! (maybe an issue with the upload). Will contact support ASAP. Thx for watching and supporting!
Sharon H. Posted 7 months ago
Well done! You can almost feel what the character is going through. Should he or shouldn't he? But decides he has to. Well done!

Usually find "getting ready" scenes fairly obvious and cliche, but this was shot very well and the calm scene is an interesting contrast to what he obviously has going on underneath the surface. Good work!
