I really enjoyed this, but felt it wasn't quite... sharp enough. Something about the whole thing didn't really click. I understood it well enough, but I think it needed something more jarring. Or perhaps a better sync with the music.
Rob H. Posted 5 months ago
It is interesting, though it relies heavily on the hook and bait of showing the woman in her underwear.
Rob E. Posted 5 months ago
Wow, that's a really neat way of telling that story. A cool analogy. Do you think something like this would make it into the final edit, even as a stylistic bit just to change up the pace?
Robert T. Posted 6 months ago
think this movie has a very strong chance, it looks really great, the editing looks great and the the effects look even better, I can't wait until it comes out.
Kelsie S. Posted 6 months ago
Love how the use of lighting and music set the tone. This has left me "speechless"! Great job team!
Timothy W. Posted 6 months ago

Nathan G. Posted 6 months ago
I understand what the concept is here, but not super impressed with the execution. Regardless of this competition, I encourage you to make this film.
FilmFan F. Posted 6 months ago
I am going out on a limb here..i was not crazy about this. The music was annoying and distracted me from what was going on.
Madelyn R. Posted 6 months ago
Very interesting and intriguing way of presenting this scene. A very cool and different mission video
Dalton P. Posted 6 months ago
Ingreat way to grab the attention, interesting, I understand, with a hand like that something drastic had to happen, quess I will have to follow up! Ha Ha
Kathy M. Posted 6 months ago
Definitely would have been hard to do this scene with no speech, but it was clear enough what the scene was about, interesting
jane D. Posted 6 months ago
well done with the scene
Elayne T. Posted 7 months ago
This shows how you may add some dramatic flair to the final doc. I haven't really followed the docs here much, but this is promising.
Mark B. Posted 7 months ago
Love the concept and great ending with a nice hook to keep me engaged. Don't fully understand how you plan to tie this scene in with your documentary. The doc trailer was quite serious in tone but now you seem to be going for light fluff. Perhaps this scene and the point you are trying to make would be more effective with a music change. Good luck...
Bobbi H. Posted 7 months ago
I like the analogy of this video with your story of the big super chain making the little shirtless. Cute ending too....
Louise m. Posted 7 months ago
This is a really cool mission video, it made me think about work. Keep up the good work and I like the music!
Carleigh B. Posted 7 months ago
I think this was probably the most effective way you could show the conflict that is addressed in the documentary.
Sandra L. Posted 7 months ago
I like this mission video. Great work. It's effective and shows what happened by being slowly pulled over the table by the big corporation. Well done with the music and flow.
Martin N. Posted 7 months ago
The big guy and the consumer I'm thinking? Music added to the overall theme. Good luck with the project!
Nikki S. Posted 7 months ago
Seemed a little out of step with other things that you have produced but interesting all the same. I liked the rhythmic nature of the images/stillness.
Bari D. Posted 7 months ago
I enjoyed this video showing the analogy of corporate businesses and the little guy.How it effects us all and what can be done about it. The choices ( excuse the pun) we make and rocky road we take trying to make a name for ourselves. Thank you for sharing this
Cari J. Posted 7 months ago
Well done with this scene, guys.
Del L. Posted 7 months ago
Interesting approach to conveying your message. Entertaining character sequence and great music. Effective.
Nadia V. Posted 7 months ago
it is a very cute video and I think I understand what you are trying to say here but not sure if you came fully across
Jake S. Posted 7 months ago
What the? That banner is a tease.
George P. Posted 7 months ago
lots of camera movement which in nice to see, not sure i really got what was happening, left us hanging
Richard M. Posted 7 months ago
Interesting I am finding this good. I am hoping for a little more but given time I am sure you will pull it through keep it up
Aiden C. Posted 7 months ago
Very creative for this mission. The one issue I have is the quality of the footage. It lacks a nice professional look to it. Looks to much like a home video.
Donald Y. Posted 7 months ago
I enjoyed this - it told the story well.
Shelley O. Posted 7 months ago
I get the message that you are trying to get across, and I know that this what a mission for Cinecoup, but what I don't get is how this realistically fits in with the documentary aspect of the movie. The idea was overly simplistic - the wardrobe and music didn't help. sorry guys
Brian B. Posted 7 months ago
I get this. You have to know the issue to understand the video. A picture is 1000 words ! I really liked the video !!
Heath A. Posted 7 months ago
nice try - not really convincing.
Christopher L. Posted 7 months ago
Great Job, and having worked for said blood sucking organization i hope this documentary can shine some light on there Vampiric ways.
Carmela V. Posted 7 months ago
A fun video, and an interesting way to depict the uphill and seemingly hopeless battle against big corporations.
Sandra M. Posted 7 months ago
not sure what its about, confusing. Is this going to be in your movie? I don't think it ties in well with the feel of the trailer.
Jim M. Posted 7 months ago
We think we can incorporate this footage, broken into applicable segments, to illustrate the progress of the actual story of Amanada. We would add a voice-over to explain the correlation
Cinnamon C. Posted 7 months ago
I get the bullying metaphor, I also thought she is willing to be there too when she could just leave.
Jim M. Posted 7 months ago
She could leave, yes, but the movie will show that running a business is like having a tiger by the tail. You put so much in that you have to keep going to try and recoup your investment, taking risks you never foresaw at the start
Donal O. Posted 7 months ago
Gee.I ...just....I don't know. I just don't know.
Chris B. Posted 7 months ago
that was really drawn out. i feel for your situation and hope you can raise awareness for your cause but this obviously isn't a movie
Terran B. Posted 7 months ago
It looks a little amateur. Surely the idea is unique though. The girl is wearing no shoes also? Maybe that is what card players do. GOod luck you guys!
Jim M. Posted 7 months ago
Her shoes are in the clothing stack she pays her lawyer with
Iwona b. Posted 7 months ago
Interesting approache and idea of showing it. Intriguing music and satisfactory performance. Well done.
Maggie G. Posted 7 months ago
Very creative and analytical. Camera work is not bad either. I think I see what you are doing here!
John K. Posted 7 months ago
ha ha... that's great. I think it is a great allegory. demonstrating the idea of how a powerful corporation can have their way with anyone.
Mikel T. Posted 7 months ago
way to be creative! and good camera work in the poker game. i hate bullies! good way to illustrate without words the uphill battle
Michael L. Posted 7 months ago
Interesting execution! Very creative approach to this week's mission. I give you kudos for creativity... this would have been a tough mission too do for a documentary like yours but you passed with flying colours. -- [Mr. Tom]
Jim M. Posted 7 months ago
Thanks, Michael! http://www.facebook.com/PresidentsChoiceDocumentary shows some of our behind the scenes how-we-got-that-wicked-sweeping-shot

OK friends, neighbours, acquaintance s, associates, enemies and arch rivals; the voting has begun and we're in a race to the finish line. Please get onto Cinecoup.com and spend your votes on Superstore Poker, the cameras are ready to roll, but we need your support to make it happen, thank you.
Bernie H. Posted 7 months ago
Very neat analogy in trying to 'make a deal'. I love the exploration of space with the floating camera. Curious to see more.
Jim M. Posted 7 months ago
The rig we used costs about 4 cents a foot times the height to anchor point in the office ceiling grid. I think of it as a Tarzan rig. We'll post pics on our facebook page today.
Bella M. Posted 7 months ago
you guys are heading in a great direction !
Andre v. Posted 7 months ago
Intriguing
Johnny A. Posted 7 months ago
I didn't like this to be honest. It was stretched out a little too long for my liking. Good luck in the competition
Jane M. Posted 7 months ago
The girl is trying to "deal" with him during the card game but is out bid over and over. Te next move is for a news article to result in a growing crowd of supporters to boycott and picket the stores
Allen R. Posted 7 months ago
Amanda's first public youtube video did receive support, but Loblaws went public and agreed to meet with Amanda and that resulted in the public concluding the story was "over", which dried up public interest. The truth is Loblaws didn't do anything to resolve the situation, so it is now necessary to re-engage the public. It will require a great deal of public support to get picketers out to stores and organize a boycott.
Farnsworth S. Posted 7 months ago
HAHAAHAA! Nice underwaer that chick got on. She got hosed on poker. good luck in the future with everything.
Ryan H. Posted 7 months ago
I don't understand the premise of your concept but the scene was well shot though unfortunately it seems the golden rule applies
Ryan B. Posted 7 months ago
i kinda feel like there needed to be dialogue in this. clever ending however! So now i have to watch your next one!
Jexx M. Posted 7 months ago
I'm a big fan of documentaries so I give you kudos to creating something original and that needs to be told.
Michael S. Posted 7 months ago
That was very cleverly done. I hope that you can get this documentary made one way or another and I also hope that you can somehow find justice and peace in this situation.
Jim M. Posted 7 months ago
Thanks for the encouragement. This film will not cost as much as a zombie movie to make, and we think the story will be very engaging
Jody M. Posted 7 months ago
Clever hook. Interesting execution. Have to watch for more!
Jennifer M. Posted 7 months ago
I really admire the visual metaphor that you came up with to convey the real message behind your documentary-- well done!
Derek F. Posted 7 months ago
Hmm. This could work. It is not an easy task to convey a complex idea a) without diolauge B) with an analogy, I bid you the best with this.
Rolinda R. Posted 7 months ago
This is a very interesting clip, you can see that she is losing but it also shows how unfair the game was, it is a great analogy, I do want to see more
Frederick D. Posted 7 months ago
I think it's a great analogy here, as it looks like another sort of fight against the odds, whether it's poker or fighting a mega corporation in court...And with so few chips...
Patti D. Posted 7 months ago
The music was unnerving - I had to hit mute. And I just couldn't connect the dots. No idea what the binders symbolized.
Afzal H. Posted 7 months ago
Great use of analogy for this creative challenge, the idea comes across clearly. This is an important story and needs to be told. This platform is very competitive and the latest fan feedback shows more interest in the dramatic genre. Your story is great and if you don't make the cut, I'm sure you can get a broadcast license from CBC. This would make a great one-off doc.
Michelle G. Posted 7 months ago
I get how this relates to the movie, but what I don't get is that this would likely not end up in the movie. I wish you'd taken more of an approach of shooting something that could potentially end up in your documentary.
Jim M. Posted 7 months ago
We hope to use this material in the final movie by cutting it up and placing it in, with narration over, at the various stages of the real pattern Loblaws seems to follow with many suppliers.
Jane M. Posted 7 months ago
The big corporate tycoon can outlast any citizen who dares to challenge him
Ilana D. Posted 7 months ago
Not a fan of the music and a not sure what the story line is here. I did enjoy the end shot, makes me want to learn more about your film.
Amanda B. Posted 7 months ago
Interesting... The lady continues to give away her assets without a second thought to a man who has promised her nothing in return. I feel no sympathy.
Jim M. Posted 7 months ago
The lady tries to stop the tycoon from outright stealing the pot. She was promised a fair game, fair chance - got a rigged game where the tycoon owns the deck and the dealer. Now apply the analogy to the court system where, in trying to get justice, the lady hires a lawyer to fight the cheater - and the courts allow him to abuse the process, causing the lady exhausting legal expenses.
Shawn K. Posted 7 months ago
You've got a pretty good understanding of how this could have gone down, it is hard to get a fair shake in a world where there is no justice. This is why it is called a legal system rather than a justice system, because it is a system heavy on law, but short on justice, which isn't the same thing.
Sarah B. Posted 7 months ago
Props to you and your team for a creative approach to this challenge. Very difficult to accomplish for a documentary project that requires explanation, but I think your use of a visual analogy was good and inventive solution.
Jim M. Posted 7 months ago
Thanks Sarah! Our plan is to interlace longer sections of exposition with this little story, progressing in step with the real path taken by YoPRO
Gregory F. Posted 7 months ago
I honestly have no idea what your documentary is about, but watching your #bemoving was intriguing enough for me to go back and watch your trailer. Nice work.
Jim M. Posted 7 months ago
Awesome. That's what we are hoping for. Loblaws vs the little guy is a long story, with lots of heartbreak
Jordan N. Posted 7 months ago
#bemoving the one thing I really like about your guys trailer and story is that you are very thoughtful in what you shoot and produce, and yes you didn't need words to explain this, the struggle of fighting for something that is yours or that you believe in and at what cost, and how much power corporations have over us
Jim M. Posted 7 months ago
Thanks, Jordan. Without the little guys, corporations like Loblaws would have fewer new products and new ideas. They are killing the goose that lays the golden egg.
AChristine W. Posted 7 months ago
I found the first 3/4 quite confusing. The music could have been better also. However, the last shot kinda sums it up.
Jim M. Posted 7 months ago
Might be able to insert a shot showing the first document being put in the game is a legal claim
Brad K. Posted 7 months ago
that looks just like all my divorce proceedings. the music def needs a change but still well thought out for being speechless
Jim M. Posted 7 months ago
Sorry to see that many people share the same experience with our legal system
Kyle L. Posted 7 months ago
hmmm that music needs to change. I'm not entirely sure what is going on but maybe I missed something.
payola m. Posted 7 months ago
Well that reminds me of a meeting I went to the last time I worked in Corporamia ! Yes, we are always losing our pants and skirts in Life - and not in a fun, strip poker kind of way but in the paperwork, lawyer, give me yr credit card b4 you leave the rm kind of way ! Not sure if it really supports the Doc Tho !
Joan M. Posted 7 months ago
I found this video a little confusing, although I did see that she loses everything when she takes a gamble.
Betty H. Posted 7 months ago
She is the play for her financial life and doesn't realize that the playing field is not a level one. Progressing on a hope and a prayer, the inevitable happens and she is stripped of her dream.
Betty H. Posted 7 months ago
No matter what she does, she's in a loosing game, stripped of her product and dignity.
Jordan N. Posted 7 months ago
no words needed right!
Jim M. Posted 7 months ago
We wanted to let her keep her dignity. Maybe should have added a defiant pause just as she is being shown the door.
Kayla S. Posted 7 months ago
I agree with the others the music really needs work. I did feel like a very racy game of strip poker was coming.
Jim M. Posted 7 months ago
Was it the teasing stills that gave it away? Or the pretty girl in the room full of men? Either way, skin sells and in this case I hope we kept it relevant to the message
Joelle W. Posted 7 months ago
Oh my, was certainly an eye-catching visual. Have to agree that the music wasn't my favourite, made me a little worried this might end up in bad/porno land BUT hard to say without seeing how this fits into the bigger picture.
Yvonne L. Posted 7 months ago
Could we have done something a little less kitchy ?? This is a serious issue and needs something dramatic. The music is also a little annoying... I think you over thought this mission. Keep it simple guys you have a great story to tell.
Jim M. Posted 7 months ago
We took a risk coming up with something fictional when what we need to show is all real. We wanted surreal. There are lots of complaints about the music - perhaps when we integrate this material at strategic points in our real story - and use better music - it will fit.
Kendra W. Posted 7 months ago
I think this mission video was a little uninteresting, but the idea behind it was good, i like the analogy but it's a bit confusing.
Jim M. Posted 7 months ago
I think we need to show the first document is clearly some kind of legal claim followed by a counter-claim
Darren R. Posted 7 months ago
The President's Choice nice work. Looks like you have the same batch of (fans) roaming the boards from other teams bashing you as well LOL. What a beautiful thing of imagery this is turning into ... anyway, love it, "I" like the music, different, catchy and never hurts to have a great looking gal losing everything. :) #absolutionmovie
Jim M. Posted 7 months ago
Maygan Sensenberger did a great job. We wanted her to portray courage and innocence in a world of greedy men
Shawn K. Posted 7 months ago
Tycoon being the greedy bastard that he is, takes her for all she has, including her shirt. Symbolic of the ruthless and unethical way big business does business and how it treat it's suppliers.
Jim M. Posted 7 months ago
Mission accomplished, thanks
Bernice G. Posted 7 months ago
I also agree, didn't care much for the music, was a bit confusing and not sure what its about, don't get enough from it.
Shawn K. Posted 7 months ago
You can read my posting above in order to get a better understanding, it is symbolic of the way big business can become ruthless toward anyone that gets in their way, and when it comes to getting what it wants. Sometimes you can loose everything, including your shirt. I hope this helps.
Scott M. Posted 7 months ago
I've got to agree with Moe - the music was a bit 'hokey'. I also didn't find this terribly compelling.
Jim M. Posted 7 months ago
When we show the real sweat, risk and pride elements of the small entrepreneur in moving a new idea to market, we hope to make the scenario compelling
Moe M. Posted 7 months ago
Didn't care much for the shots, music a bit too hokey confusing not sure what its about, had to go back to trailer
Jim M. Posted 7 months ago
Thanks for going to the trailer - that was one of the outcomes we were hoping for
Dougie M. Posted 7 months ago
It's missing something! The music is okay but I don't get enough from it to make me want to see more
Darren R. Posted 7 months ago
She's missing her clothes but that's not really missing something, well, it is, but that's a good thing!
Jim M. Posted 7 months ago
It works better if you already know some of the real story. Our final use of this piece will keep that in mind
Ian T. Posted 7 months ago
I was curious to see how a documentary would tackle this mission. Kudos for making it work. - Team Stream
Jim M. Posted 7 months ago
The idea finally came together after about ten days of struggle for inspiration - early one morning, half asleep. Thanks for the kudos.
Ayla L. Posted 7 months ago
I was excited to see how a documentary was going to deal with a silent mission, and to my surprise, really well! My only comment is that I would have liked to see it be completed within the 90 seconds, and instead of being directed somewhere else to see how it ends, be directed to a place where I could see the whole version. Great job anyways!
Jim M. Posted 7 months ago
I agree the piece is stronger viewed in one continuous take - but we realized that we can drive people to the web page and influence our like count - and it seems to be working
Dallas M. Posted 7 months ago
This is just weird and I am not sure what is going on here. Doesn't make me more intrigued other than for a longer shot at the end
Jim M. Posted 7 months ago
I suppose we could have the incoming businessman turn around and avoid the poker game based on realizing the pretty girl was cheated. But me, if we left the pretty girl onscreen in her underwear and put our lesson in a caption, or even had her speak - all my brain would be taking in is "pretty girl in underwear - duhhhh"
